Tip for you. Instead of beating the outside with a hammer to shock the ball joint taper loose, use an air hammer with a flat hammer tip. Works very fast.
Very good video! no guy talking about his wife's grandmothers yard needing cut while 9 dogs are in the background barking while he's talking about nothing to do with the topic . thanks for the info
Great video semi working your videos are always on point as always I just like watching these videos they are of a great help to me in my experience keep the videos coming God bless
Workshop manual: torque bottom ball joint to 44lb-ft, then top ball joint to 69lb-ft, retorque lower to 150lb-ft. My experience if you tighten top first it pulls the alignment sleeve down to far, causing the steering knuckle to be to tight. Good work.
Omg thank you I couldn’t figure out why one side was so tight to turn, I actually thought the alignment sleeve HAD to be all the way down! I see now the issue. Thank you!
Every ford iv ever own had to put ball joints into it...multiple times on the 01 7.3....they where all used trucks I guess people don't know what a grease zerk is used for...including myself...mine were bone dry on the 7.3😳

Thanks for watching and commenting!! That makes sense haven't ever ran into that problem but I've never read the workshop manual either.

Is that a harbor freight press???
Yes got one too
I hope the upper ball joint didn't hit the truck in the background when it was struck out with the hammer.
Merci
Wow, but why so many bolts in that hub??? That car seems not to be a heavy truck to carry tons.
Thanks for watching!! This is a heavy duty truck.
