In my mind, by the time Meshuggah stops being able to keep up with the rigors of their own music, due to the weakness of human flesh, at that time cybernetics will step in and they will be upgraded.
Django, what's more metal, staying young and limber with stem cells, or becoming an ancient half robot with old gross decaying flesh hanging off your robot parts?
Per did an amazing job filling in for Frederik, he's playing the stuff like how it sounds on the record mainly. Frederik usually experiments w/ improv live, which is awesome too.
From what I understand the man responsible for the lighting is Tomas Haake's brother... When I saw them live I saw him and there seemed to be some resemblance.
There's kind of a pecking order to that. 20 years ago they would be opening the fest. But with more bands like Slayer and Sabbath going away you're going to start seeing bands like Meshuggah, Lamb of God, Gojira, Mastodon etc get those headlining spots at night. That's why they have the big light show and back drop now
Actually I was there and I really enjoyed it, in day light you can really see how they play and how fucking good they are, especially Thomas, that's was so mindfucking !
