    David Rozman himself sold me this when he got my hair cut from him visiting Manchester. And I love it. I use others more often, so I feel like it’s the most criminally underrated product in my arsenal, but I believe the washability problem is why I derail from it sometimes. But when I come back it’s a great time. Also that package sexy 👏🏽👏🏽

    I do love this product for styling after blowdrying with night rider or super goo, but for anyone wanting to try this, just be aware that it has a strong sweet sort of caramel scent to it that may be a turn off to some. And for Robin, do you have any experience with Kevin Murphy's shampoos and conditioners? • @michaelbyrne7128

      WhatTheDuck I ended up buying both. I used a sea salt spray for prep then used rough rider, the next day I washed hair prepped with a sea salt spray and used night rider. I would disagree with most of the stuff on RUclips about both these products tbh rough rider is definitely more of a thick clay with a little oil/shine to it and night rider is more of a pomade/paste. I have really thick hair and I preferred rough rider. The application was effortless and was semi Matt but a bit of a grit grunge/oil finish. Not to much oil but definitely not matt. Night rider initially underwhelmed me, easy to get out of the tub in comparison to rough rider (which was easy enough to get out of the tub) and would not emulsify 100% when rubbed together vigorously. Easy to apply but left the hair feeling almost crispy in texture. Took me a lot longer to get the look I wanted with night rider but you do get a lot of texture with it, once it settles it does lock tight and matts a bit more. If I was to chose one I would personally go with rough rider. But I use rough rider for building the style then touch up with night rider for a little added texture. It wouldn’t hurt to own both. Kevin Murphy do both these products in travel sizes on there webpage so buy both see which one you prefer. One of my favourites atm is actually black label craft clay, a lot cheaper and I prefer the finish that it gives in comparison to both these Kevin Murphy products. Hope this helps :-)

      Just don't use it on fine/thin hair, it generally works better on thicker, not oily hair
      Depends on the amount, it can get from flexible to high hold, the more you use, the more shine, more hold you get
      A sticky paste, easy to scoop out, *will* rips some hair out, but once stablize, it is very smooth
      Some of the best texture I have ever seen, only after MM Balm tbh, damp, not a light product, good hold, the hold dont last long like RR though, nice light scent that is pretty much gone after 2 hours, comes out with a little shampoo.
      Do I think its worth it? Not really, it is hard to use NR, especially in hot, damp area like Vietnam and it depends on your hair type a lot, definitely dont work good on fine hair though

    I've been looking for a new product to try out. I've been using a combination (on different days, not together) of Baxter's Clay Pomade and Lockhart's Matte Clay over the past year or two, but I'm looking to get something with a little bit more hold and don't mind a bit of shine since I work in a more professional office. What do you think between this and the Kevin Murphy Night Rider?

      @ManForHimself  5 лет назад +1

      Hey, Night Rider is a lot softer. This is oilier and has a firmer hold.

    Using bluuman original as a prestyler with this like the combo so far . But is there a better prestyler ?

      All depends what you want out of a prestyler. The Salon Guy makes some great ones that I personally use.

    How does this compare with the Free Hold (medium hold styling paste)

    • @ManForHimself
      @ManForHimself  5 лет назад +1

      Free Hold is a lot stickier and more fibrous. I like it but Rough Rider is a great clay for versatile styling.

    I prefer products that wash out without a shampoo because I like starting from 0 every day when styling my hair. However I ordered Easy.Rider and Thick.Again and I sure hope that I will like them as much as you do Rough.Rider. Your hair looks great when you use it to style!

    I think the new version is to oily, so the hold is not good as the first version. But it's maybe still good in the country which is not too hot and damp.

      It's good, has a nice citrus smell, and has a decently strong hold. It is very dry/not oily which is a plus and minus- the plus is obvious but the minus is that I notice individual hairs can sometimes free themselves as the day goes on, I feel like this happens less with oily things.
