Hello Robin, I just wanted to say thanks for what you do. I’m 33 yo, and normally never message influencers but have tried so many gels/wax/pomades/clays/pastes, you name it. Then your video on the best products/methods for men with fine to thinning hair changed everything for me. It cleared up so much about what works and what does not. Thank you forever!!! All the best, Alex.
Sorry for being a silent viewer! I remembered today, so here's a comment for more viewer engagement. And thank u Robin, it's a holy grail video for fine hair! Thank u!
I'm not a guy but these are the only videos that talk about products for fine short hair. Not a lot of women have my hair texture and let alone style. These are very informative for me even though I'm a woman.
Absolutely one of the best men's channels in so many ways. Robin is amazing and I love the influence and addition to the community he's played. Please keep up the amazing content, perspective and outlook.
I've been following Robin's channel for a couple of years now especially for hair-related knowledge, cuz I have a kind of similar hair, if less fabulous, to his. What I love about Robin is he's so honest in everything he presents. Before starting to watch this video, I had a little suspicion that he's gonna talk about some new products which are "life-savers" or "ones you can't live without" as many RUclipsrs do once every few weeks with whatever products they've been participating with for a short period of time. But actually Robin talked about all the same products he's been using in the past, which are definitely working. And he's not even in contract with any of these brands. That's what makes me believe in almost everything he use/talk about, cuz he won't bullshit you for a couple of short-term deals. Now whenever I need something related to personal grooming, this & his blog is my go-to for research! :D
I've been using Nioxin for a year or so after your videos and it really does make a difference! I also use their Diaboost product which is amazing too.
I have only been using this Argan Rain shampoo for a month, but already see a difference in my hair. It seems healthier and thicker, as well as shiny. For an organic shampoo, it lathers well and smells nice. I plan to order again!
Instantly going into my favourites! This is exactly the video I was looking for and by the looks of it we have similar hair. Currently 36 let's see if I can get my hair looking even fuller by 40! 😂
I'd like to thank you Robin, after many years of trying tons of products for my thin hair... the Label M Thickenning tonic was a big yes !! Using it for a month, it just works !
My husband has fine hair with thin spots that have not changed or increased over the years. He has been having some frustration with styling his hair and I found your channel to share with him. Needless to say this knowledge has been a game changer!!
@manforhimself thank you so much! I was about to buzz my hair cos its so limp and fine and I had given up. I tried the Aveda thickening product and suddenly I have a a hairstyle again! Thank you !
Amazing video. Thanks so much!!! For anyone with thinning hair, also look into finasteride. I have had the worst experience with hair loss, it was almost all gone at 20. Finasteride saved the hair I had left. Please guys, don’t be like me and wait. It happens before you know it.
Thankyou, ive always used revivogen shampoo and conditioner but never really see anything on them. Think I might use nioxin now and hope it helps....hairloss and thinning is definitely a fight you can win with the right products
cheers for sharing your knowledge man! recently I went throw a hair transplant procedure after many years of losing my hair and not taking care of it. I've watched a lot of your content and it really helped me decide which products to use and how to use them, so thank you very much!!
Not sure whether it's a good or bad thing but I have ALL these products you have recommended purely because of watching your videos!! As always great content
@@ManForHimself ofcourse hence why I keep coming back. Not normally a fan of recommendations from youtubers but your a go to source for all hair products! I hesitated to purchase the patricks M3 because of the price tag but now it's a must alongside the Aveda and NIoxin. Also a big fan of the Baxter's of California clay pomade which I first saw here too.
Fantastic tips and tricks and great information as always Robin! You can tell you love this particular hair topic and it reflects in the quality and content of this video! Keep up the great work!
Just found your channel and just binge watched a bunch of your videos. Not only are you informative (and you make it pretty easy to follow) but you the most entertaining personality in your field. As a guy with thinner hair loved this video, cant wait to try some of these tips out
I have read lots of articles and came up with nothing. You literally have the same hair as me and you use the products you talk about and you make your hair look great with them on camera. I'm sold and thank you for finally ending this nightmare of research!
In your opinion what would be a great pre-styling product for thick and heavy, yet very flat hair? Perhaps Label M Grooming Cream.. or Kevin Murphy Anti Gravity Spray? Great content btw Robin!!
I had the exact same problem of full, heavy hair that would for some reason lay flat soon after using volumizing pre stylers, clays with heavy hold, etc. It was quite baffling to me because all the videos I watched told me that thick hair should lead to easy volume. Then I went to a new hairdresser and she took thinning scissors to my hair which didnt decrease its naturally full appearance but made it MUCH easier to work with. Now products that say firm hold actually firmly hold my hair and volume lasts all day! I think the problem was that the hair itself was too heavy. That and for a product to hold my hair it would previously have to reach more hairs which it turn made the hair heavier because I needed to use more product if that makes sense. Just something that worked for me
@@ManForHimself Thanks for that Robin! I suppose that's one of the misconceptions about having thick hair! Sometimes, its actually not easier to create volume with, style etc - it can be too thick, heavy and ultimately just want to lie flat like a mop - could be worth talking about thick hair (even if you are more on the fine side) to talk about how to manage this and what products to use :-)
@@minjikwak3277 I understand where your coming exactly! I feel like everyone assumes thick hair is easy to create volume with - its almost the opposite, my hair is so thick, it just wants to lie down flat like a mop! Thinning the hair with scissors or a blade is definitely a good starting point
Thanks Robin, they’ll never understand the pain of thin straight hair boys I’m looking for very natural products with very few ingredients to make my hair look thicker with more volume and less dry, which shampoo and stylishing clay do you recommend me? I think that’s the way to go for me And do you have affiliate links of them?
Hello Robin, when I listen to your advices I feel like I am not the only one that do so much research in order to get best results, and about the brown spray, it is good but I have found that Batiste dry shampoo for dark brown hair cleanses the hair, brushes of easily and help with that tiny bit of color that further boosts the hair, I have fine thinning hair but I stopped it using DHT blockers and I use little amount of thickening and texturizing products and finish either with a clay if I wanted to do a distinctive hairstyle or I just use a couple of CHI magnifying Hair Spray to lock down a simple style. So if I am not going to use a thickening tonic, and do not have the time to wash my hair, Batiste for dark brown hair saves the day. And you Robin is a mega smart and intuitive than the majority.
Thank you for this video. If you could make an update to it I would appreciate it. I’ve always had fine hair since my teens. Never thinking, just weirdly fine and sparse. I would gel it and always see my scalp so I ended up just growing it out. Cutting it short again, still have that fine problem. Saw your vid on using clay for styling and it’s so helpful. Subscribed. Would still love an updated video for any new products you’ve used or found over the last five years.
Thanks! I have fine hair, but a lot of it so styling is always tricky. Long hair styles are also iffy for me as a result, the hair just weighs down and looks flat, I will try that Nioxin stuff
Just dropped $70 on some nioxin shampoo and Avida thickening tonic. Really excited to see if this stuff works. Cant wait to spend all my money on hair product for the rest of my life if it does.
@Guido The shampoo dried out my hair like crazy so i stopped using it pretty quicky. Later I realized you need to get a whole 3 part system for it to even work. The aveda seems like it might have an effect but it could just have been placebo. If you dont have the money to throw around i wouldnt risk it.

Great video I like how you are always honest with you’re products but one thing I saw after watching this video was the price of the Patrick m3.. $100 on amazon for 2.6 oz.
I really like the style that you did in this video and intend on purchasing all of the products you used here to try this as a daily routine. Just curious, do you happen to use a heat resistant spray as well before you blow dry or does the tonic act as one?
Hey Robin! Have you heard about Tribal Chimp Hair Powder? They are making a lot of ads right now but I can't find any real reviews. Have you tried this new powder and what do you think about it? Thanks
I’m in lockdown and haven’t had a haircut in about 6months my hair grows around the side but is proper notty. On the top it’s thin and split. Do you recommend these products for a 27 year old man who is stressed out half the week. I don’t wanna be bald at 30 lol
You ned to try John Frieda volumizing and body building hairspray for fine hair. Its got a great high hold. Its still combable. Its easily the best I've used. Better than Silvikrin, 18.21 Manmade, Hanz De Fuko, Kenra, Design Line by Regis, and any other I've used. I recommend only using any hairspray on flyaways and your part area, as well as some of the front. But to keep it natural dont go over everything.
Hi Robin, When using the Aveda and the Hanz Du Fuko, should you break the thinning rule and grow your hair long on top? I am thinking that this will give the products more hair to work with. thanks Evan
Hey Robin, great video thanks! I wanted to ask, would you recommend using the Nioxin products for someone who doesn't have thin hair? You mentioned it promotes scalp health so I'm thinking would this not be better to use than your standard shampoos? I wouldn't say I have thin hair but want to do whatever I can to keep it healthy for years to come, if Nioxin helps with this then I'll definitely start using it!
Hi Robin, I'd really appreciate your advice on my fine hair situation. Currently I use Toni & Guy volume mousse with a blow dryer. I used to add wax after but it's risky as sometimes it ruins the volume and shape of the hair. Also gaps show. When it works though it's god like. Hairspray at the end. At the moment I'm just using the blow-dryer and then hairspray at the end. Do you think I should introduce clay? Unlike you I build the shape of hair straight after blow-drying with my hands and no product. It's the way I get the most natural and high lift hair.
best review ever and to be honest, it is really helpful for me since I also got a thinning hair. However, can you help me regarding the shampoo and conditioner, are there any other products that could deliver the same or (a little bit less) effects like Nioxin but cheaper :D since Nioxin is so expensive:D:D. Thank you so much
Are you going to review the new Blumaan Clout Control oil? Its says it's for course hair, but I have fine hair. I like to hear your responses to new products, because your honest and dont give us bs!

Would you use thickening tonic with sea salt spray?
Top vid Robin & you covered everything 👍
best review ever and to be honest, it is really helpful for me since I also got a thinning hair.
