I really like this problemsolving, practical video. I wonder if there is any hairstyle you find looks good airdried…? since I got chronicly ill I simply cannot hold my arms up for that long to blow dry my hair or use hot tools😔. I’ve actually gotten compliments when I had just slept with my moist hair in a bun the night before. That was a comfort😅 If you have any more proffessional ideas on this topic please let me know❤️🩹
I loved that you not only showed the proper way to blow-dry, and how to apply the product but said WHY it's important and why you need to pull up and use the brush.
Justin, I have fine, medium thickness hair. What would be the best root boost and all over product for me? I have access to the professional beauty supply. Thank you 🙏
I appreciate that you teach the client how to style as opposed to making her look beautiful and then she/we have no idea what to do when we get home! Thanks, guy!❤
Fabulous point to make. Some of us have no idea of what to do really with our hair after the hairdresser has done a wonderful job. I or we try, give it a go - to copy it when we get home but nothing goes right, looking in the mirror everything is reversed, so I just leave it be natural and live with that. It would be terrific to learn how to style our own hair and at least get it looking something like it was after leaving the hairdresser. 👍😊
Tbh every time I leave the salon, my hair is flat because the stylist just blow dries like normal and also conditions my hair from roots to the end, which for fine hair weighs it down. It always looks better the next day after I shower and style it myself because I’ve been dealing with my own hair for 42 years trying to make it look more voluminous and thicker, so I have learned a few things over the years. This video is validating some of those techniques I figured out in my own!
I hate the way they over blow and straighten the hair. I usually wash it again and air dry it with a bit of beach salt spray, lift it in a bun for 20 min and then let it free. It’s not bad.
I enjoy watching your videos very much. I have very thin hair. The videos where you have your client helping style her own hair and your teaching her how to handle her hair are great! It gives us a better perspective. Thank you!!!
I am so glad to see I have been doing it correct. I have argued with many a stylist that they blow my hair flat. I have to go home and start from scratch to get volume.
This is one hairdresser that knows hair! Especially fine hair that is thinner - and makes his videos easy to see exactly what you need to do to help your hair look better! Thank you Justin- love your videos!
Grateful for more videos on fine, thin hair. My hair is fine, thin, see-through hair that distresses me greatly as I age and go forward. There isn’t a hair length that works for me and I prefer my “look” with longer hair knowing it ostensibly “should” be a bit more short. As someone commented, please use a model that truly has fine, thin hair. This lady in my opinion has a lot of hair! Thank you, Justin.
This worked great for me! Thank you. I wasn't working the mousse all the way from root to end. I've tried this 3 times now and it's working a lot better. My hair even turned out nice and fluffy, stay in place this morning and it was raining. My hair never turns out good when it's damp or humid out. I appreciate the short and to-the-point video. I have to use unscented products for my hair and it took forever to find what would work. Now if they don't discontinue them like so many other products I use...
This was helpful. Some things I was aware of & some things I was not. I would love to see more “tricks of the trade” for fine limp hair to increase volume without “drab” product buildup. Most products take away the shine & leave the hair looking lack luster.
Agree! I do think it's hard to get both texture and shine because the "grippiness" coats the hair in something that makes it less slippery and thus also makes it lose shine. I have figured a couple things out, but I'd like to have more options. I have wavy hair so this may not work for you, but I use the Cantu Natural Hair Moisturizing Curl Activator Cream, which adds *unreal* shine, while also giving decent hold and volume. I also use the Bondbar Bonding Concentrate, which is basically a super-light hair oil, for even more shine. When I then use a mousse or hair spray, the decrease in shininess is a lot less annoying. I also use a glycerin-based pomade at the very roots sometimes to tame my hair, and that also tends to add grip without making the hair too dull.
Thin-haired girl here. Thank you for all of these great tips. I have tried tips from your previous videos and they really help my hair. Thank you so much! Susan
That's awe seeing this. I've been a stylist for 14 years and it's not often sadly for stylists to educate their customers/clients on how to style their hair to achieve the look they are wanting. It's sad that stylists don't. I always made it a point to educate ,from young men trying to have a certain style I always made sure they had a comb at home if not I sent them home with one for women I demonstrated how to get that look. For they way that is easier for the client. I lo Ed this!
Thank you, i wish I could go to you😊 lol, it is tough where I live. I can't seem to get an ash blonde color either. It is like they want me to have orange hair and don't want to give me what I want. I've spent well over 1000.
Watching you demonstrate and explain why you pulled the brush out (instead of down) while drying the hair--and why the placement of the dryer is so important--was the most helpful part of the video. I love that you're asking clients to show you how they approach the task. It's authentic and relatable. (Kudos to your client for her willingness to give it a whirl on a video!)
I'm 60 yrs old and this is one of a handful of times I've actually benefitted from a " how-to" hair video. I've been drying my hair "willy-nilly" all this time! Now I feel I get it & am using your tips. I like your approach, your voice & your confidence. Thanks so much for sharing your videos!♥️👍🤗
My hair is fine and straight but I'm growing it out from a very short pixie so i really appreciate these videos on how to create volume. It's been 8 months now and as I struggle to get curl I'm reminded why I always wore mine short because it's a pain in the butt to make my hair do what I want. Last night I even dreamed I gave up and had it cut short again 😂
I am Theresa. Theresa is me. 😂 I swear we have twin hair. I’ve picked up so many tips in just a few recordings. Thank you! I will say though, the arm fatigue is real! 😂 stylists have the advantage of standing over us and directly seeing everything they are working on. Got to keep the body strong and flexible for the hair styling!
Hahaha... The camouflage technique you showed for her cowlick is what I used to call " root scramble." Or, sometimes I'd call it "root roughage." It was funny enough to make my clients remember it. Love it! 💝
Love your tips for fine straight hair. I have baby fine hair. It took me most of my life to figure how to make it look like I have some volume. Thank you 😊
Wow!…I do my cowlicks right, without even knowing it!!!!!…I love this video, not produced, just being!!!!…this is one of my favorites!!..I can’t wait for your new product, Justin!!!!…thank you so much for bringing us the best, every single video!!!!…you nailed it, my guy!!!!!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏💜💜💜💜💜💜much love and appreciation for you, Justin!!!!💜
You rock! I’m just glad I can help. I’m also glad to hear you like the more relaxed editing style of this video. I like things more produced but it’s because I enjoy the process of filming and editing. Less produced does feel more authentic though….right?
@@justinhickox well, I am bias when it comes to you from day one…but, yes, less produced does seem much more authentic!…but, I love all your videos!…you know I am a big mush when it comes to you!😂😘
We can never do the way you do, because you are standing and your hands are coming from above. And our own hands are coming from below. So we will always pull the hair down. Sad story 🤓😎
Diana that is exactly what happened when your arms and your eyes cannot see the back of your head. Same thing when they teach you how to cut your hair short in your back. With a mirror in one hand, the scissors in the other hand, you can no bend the arm the same way the hairdresser that is behind you can do it.
I like how you had 'her' do it. Because often we leave the salon and can't for the life of us, remember how it was done, OR can't physically feel it because 'we' didn't do it with our hands. Good idea.
Just stumbled upon your videos and I love them. I am a 70 years-young retiree with thin hair and I can’t wait to try your styling techniques. Thanks so much.
I appreciate that you are a kind and patient teacher! Having the client performed, the actions is essential to the learning process. I would love to see more about gray hair that is not colored and the best products to use, etc. Thank you!
Her hair is exactly like mine - cowlicks and all! I wish I knew the exact products (brands) I should use because I'm guilty of trying to use less product on my hair because I fear it will way it down. I will be re-watching this one!!
I have fine thin hair and I love when you show how to style hair for more volume. I have started using your techniques and I'm seeing a difference. P!ease do more of these videos. Love them!
Yes yes yes!! Great tips ! Finally a video that really shows what many of us have to deal with “ on the daily” Looking forward to your new volumizing product!
That was great! And every time I blow dry with my round brush I hear you say "point DOWN thru the hair as you round brush, don't point AT the brush" as I practice and practice to make my hands move in the right direction. It's getting easier, and it shows as the end result as well!
They may be up front but in the long run they can save you money. Most drug store products are diluted so you have to use more to get the same effect as a pro product.
@@meganeccles6686YES! the value is incomparable. Invest in beauty & save money somewhere that doesn't crimp your style. The concentration of the product & ingredients used make all the difference!
@@meganeccles6686yes! Thank you. As a formulator, it's very difficult to get a regular person to understand the real mark up comes from the cheap, commercial brands. Those luxury brands you might find at Sephora, or a salon, at $25+ are because the ingredients are vastly different and way more costly. The markup is barely enough to make a profit. Believe me, or don't. I'm a formulator. I make these products. The best way to know the difference? Educate yourself on ingredients.
Drug store products have more of the things that dry your hair out, plus he is a hair stylist and sells products and he makes money off the products. You can find the things yourself if you want drugstore stuff
0:23 I’m 68 years of age and have just started paying extra and buying the products from my hairdresser. My hair is so much easier to manage. I get more compliments about my hair now. Even my 7 year old grandson said - I love your hair Nanny, it’s so smooth. The products do last a long time. You can get so much more enjoyment out of your hair. You don’t need to wait for the hair dresser to do their magic. You wouldn’t dream of putting dishwashing detergent on your hair - but that’s kind of what you get when you buy the cheapies. All the best! Maybe you could buy the expensive products and save for the weekend to make them last longer!
Wow. Genuinely one of the BEST videos I’ve ever seen- period- for your depth of explanation, in a concise amount of time, targeted for an exact problem, and you’re so easy to understand and listen to. (Unlike this scrambled comment written while a baby topples over me lol.) Anyway- just really wanted to convey that. Kudos!
This is the way my former stylist (and most stylists) dry my hair. They put an enourmous amount of product in my hair: root lift, heat protectant, mouse, and then some other kind of greasy/waxy stuff when done drying. My hair looks gross and stringy and feels sticky and gummy afterward and I always go home right afterward and wash it to get all the junk out of it. I have fine/thin hair and I hate putting all that product in my hair. I get more volume when I style/dry myself without any product and finish with hairspray.
I hate a bunch of stuff in my fine thin hair too…it looks great for a little while then it flops and feel gross. I don’t think this guy would do that to our hair.
I also hate many products that leave my hair feeling dry or crunchy or greasy. However, there are all-in-one lightweight volumizing thermal sprays, some even add some shine. Definitely tell your stylist that you want things to be as lightweight and soft to touch as possible. A good stylist will learn what you like and use products that will make you happy.
YES!! Someone who is FINALLY teaching me HOW to dry my hair!! I too have that cowlick and of course thought my hair should be short there, now I know better and how to dry it! Thank you so much for this video and for having your client participate. Now I just have to adapt this to my pixie hair cut 🤭 Maybe you’ll have a video for us pixie gals 🙏🏻
Its easier said then done if you have trouble holding the dryer and developing a way to actually hold the brush and roll it at the same time to create volume. Hence why my hair always looks fuller when a stylist does it.
So much help here! Every trick you demonstrated I was doing the opposite. Didn't know about the roots to the end principle, how to avoid creating a crease either. I appreciate you, Teresa for taking the blows and tugs for us. Congratulations for keeping your long hair, too. Here's to bigger, more glamorous hair that also looks natural and free. Thank you, Justin!
There is a difference between thin individual hair texture, and thinning hair quantity. I'd like to see more on thinning hair as I've always had tons of good hair but now it's both thinning out in quantity and in texture.
I agree. I have about a third of the hair she has on her head , she has tons of hair. I have thinning hair and fine hair . I didn't always its just happened over the years.
When I hit 50, with menopause and being extremely stressed out and possibly other reason I lost so much hair. It isnt falling out as much now, but I see no new growth. So sad because my hair is one of my few nice features. I'm not sure if I had Covid either. Idk, but I wish I could regrow some back
Great videos! I have extremely thick coarse hair myself, but my bestie on the other hand has very thin longer hair. So, I happened to come across your videos to share & explain the how to’s on thin hair. Thx for all of these, & please don’t stop making videos! ❤
Your tutorials have been a game changer for me!! Especially talking about putting on product evenly before hair starts to dry, and directional drying. 🤗
Thank you, Justin. That was very helpful. I have hair exactly like her, even the same color. It is fine and flat. I will be more careful when I blow dry my hair.
I realize I'm a little late to the party, but your knowledge and techniques are compelling. You are very natural and authoritative on camera. Those of us who are cursed with fine hair that is also CURLY could never use this technique. What about us?
Hi Justin. Always looking forward to your new videos!!!. I would love to see you do videos on women with receding hairlines and/or cowlicks in the front. Take care and have a blessed day 😊
Great video, I really learn a lot when you have a client in the chair and you ask them how they do their hair and then help them work on their hair. Very informative and real time learning.
I literally just watched a video that said find thin hair should be extremely clean, which is opposite of what you said to give volume. 🤦🏻♀️ Love your videos. Very helpful.
There's a huge difference between "dirty" that makes it easier to style (generally achieved by a lightweight layer of products and then maybe another layer of dry shampoo that's sunk in over night) and dirty like oily- I think people in hair styling circles fail to distinguish and it causes confusion. Oils on your hair AND heavy oily hair styling products made for thicker hair types both weigh down fine hair to the point where creating volume is practically impossible. Keeping it clean, as in no oils, will help you but finding a gentle enough shampoo or cleansing routine that won't stress your sebaceous glands and cause your scalp to produce more oils can be a delicate process. I'd go for lightweight, made for sensitive skin products and some lightweight mousse
I have fine hair which for me it's a must that I wash my hair every day because by noon my hair will look greasy, so what I do is I put mouse in and rub into the roots and air dry my hair as I'm putting on my make-up, then when I'm ready to blow dry my hair ( I call it dirtier my hair up) to get the volume and what I do it get a light dusting of baby powder on my hand, not too much and put it in my hair to give it volume and then blow dry and style how I want my hair. It works for me.
I’m 70 and have thinning hair. Tks for sharing! I just found a new stylist who really gets my condition. First of all the haircut is most important then you have to have the right products for your type of hair and needs! And don’t wait 4 to 6 months between trimmings! 😆
Thank you for the tip on blow drying the front. Giving that a try the next time that seems to be my problem and you’re presenting a fix for it. Thank you!!
@@lynettelopatic418 that’s awesome!!! Thank you for trusting me and I’m SO glad to hear it worked so well!! Made my day! Thanks for coming back and letting me know.
I love how you take the time to explain and show us how to style our hair. Actually taking her hand and positioning it! WOW! It is always different when we get home and can’t do the same thing. Thank you
Wow! You included some really helpful advice regarding cow licks at the back of the head. I think this is the first time, I've ever seen a hair sylist online addressing this pesky issue. lol Thankyou.
Sir, you have changed things up for me. Learning how to blow dry was key, and blowing that myth that layering on top will help volumize was really helpful. For the first time in a very long time, I'm having a good hair day! Thank you!
@@justinhickox srsly, you followed in your Momma's 👣?!! That is so 😎 cool. Cuz I doubt her era was as well-paid or as diverse as yours. or as glam as you make it seem. I remember you styling her hair in a video once to show volume but I missed her history. Admit: Sometimes I watch you tube muted 🤫
Yes, please. More how to blow dry properly. I have a lot of fine hair, and I think I have honed in on how I like to style it, but we can all learn more from you.
Love when you show technique like this, especially having the client take a crack at it. I have similar density and texture hair that recently decided to cow-lick in the back (thanks post-menopausal hair thinning) but I'm afraid to blow dry it. It has tons of wave if I let it air dry but the cowlicks are horrendous. When I blow dry my hair it ends up super dry, flyaway and I have to wash it next day no matter what. Yay fine hair (lol)
Very educational. It makes me scratch my head why I’ve paid for expensive haircuts and never taught how to blow dry. So thank you. I just learned also how to blow out my very long bangs. ❤️
Ok wow best hair video I’ve watched- and I’ve watched a lot! Loved the cowlick tip, and also blow drying the other direction then moving hair back where you want it. I’d love tips on that ‘widows’ area where hair is thinning, how to style or cut that so it doesn’t look so sparse and stringy. I always just tuck behind my ear but there must be something better! Thank you for making this video, it really helps!
I remember her makeover and love today’s video! I get so much from your channel and appreciate all of the information you share with all of us! I learned today that that root spray needs to be combed throughout the strands. I was keeping it close to the scalp and then using a gel or such for the rest of the blowout. I haven’t been using the heat protector until I start styling with heated brush or curling iron or flat iron. Depending on look I’m trying to accomplish. I have appointment for hair cut Friday so fingers crossed 🤞🏼! I finally got a silk pillowcase and that’s helping so much with making hair easier to handle on days following shampoos when it gets all of the treatments. Thanks again for all you do!
I’ve been trying to find a way to style my hair with a goal of keeping it off my hearing aids. No room behind the ears to tuck the hair. I like my below the chin bob and not showing my ‘aids’. Your videos are very helpful and entertaining. Thanks.
I loved that! I have the same double cowlick nonsense going on at the back of my head, alongside the fine and thin hair thing going on. Thanks for the tips!
This was really great, Justin! I think instruction really sinks in when you can put yourself in the place of the "instructee", watching a professional work along with a client and redirecting her efforts as you go (with explanation). Very helpful- thanks so much!
❤❤❤ love love the video and yes, please, MORE! I find it's a couple problem for women over 40 years old with perimenopause and menopause our hair changes drastically. So please more tips ❤❤❤
This was one of your best b-c you taught exactly what to do for several things: how / why to apply product; how / why to blow drying; how / why to styling with brush; how / why to manage cowlick. All in a quick, real life scenario.
Good morning, Justin! Would love to hang out with you and Dionna for a day. Great tips for this fine haired gal. I don't have thin hair, just fine. So excited about your time in Austin with other beauty creators. Cant wait to see rhe magic you create there! Look forward to your new product.
Hey Jann! Thank you so much! You'd probably hang out with us and realize we look WAY cooler on RUclips! LOL. Well, I do, Dionna is pretty cool either way! :) We're super excited for Austin as well. So many good humans are going to be there to make videos together!
Thank you! I have fine hair ( a lot of it but fine nonetheless) and I'd be so interested in the type of product recommendations or what sort or products or even some brands to use to achieve good volume! ALSO - more videos for fine hair and please, how to curl fine hair. I struggle to keep a curl but don't want to put a bunch of hairspray and make them stiff, etc.
You said that it is easier to style dirtier hair vs clean. I would love to see how to style your hair when you wake up a few days after washing. My hair is fine and thin and looks flat and sort of oily by then.
Pretty sure he didn’t mean a few days with oily hair. Probably the second day of washing. If you have oily hair then please wash it when needed. I have fine but naturally curly hair. I can get away with washing my hair once a week.
I appreciate your detail-sharing because I want my hair to look great EVERY time I wash/style it, not just every 5 weeks when I’m scheduled with my stylist…!
THIS WORKS! I have a huge event next week and was going to cut my hair that I am painfully growing back out. Tried it this morning and WOW! Thank you Justin. :) :)
Great video! Both my husband and I watched it. I know that there are women like myself with shoulder problems, that have difficulty using the round brush method. I bought a round brush hair dryer (like DryBar, Revlon, L’ange etc.) I would like to have a presentation on how to use the round brush dryer correctly, with product. Also which round hair brush dryer is better for your hair. How are the dogs? I like your wife’s hair length! Love all of your videos. Thanks!
I love the hands on format! I have super fine hair and can get it looking good with a blowout but second day hair is flat. Any recommendations other than starting from scratch? Thanks!
Don't you worry! I've got lots of makeovers planned this year and they will all come with styling videos. I'm confident there will be some short hair in there! I love short hair!
Obviously No-one is going to Ever be able to do their hair as good as professional hairstylist. However, you give a very easy to understand detailed tutorial of how to properly blow dry your hair using a brush & blowdryer. It Really makes a difference the techniques one uses as far as your hair turns out, so Thank you, Justin! Please do a follow up video of how to blow dry/style your hair with an all-in-one blow dryer/round brush tool. I just bought one from Tymo, because I feel like a spazoid trying to work a round brush & blow-dryer. But apparently, I am STILL a spazoid even w/ the all-in-one tool tool! 🙄 H-E-L-P Justin!!!
You're so welcome! I think that's more about the product than the application. That could be your hair texture. There is a reason this may be happening but the explanation is a bit linger than I can get into in a comment. It would need a visual reference. Maybe I'll try and remember to throw it in a future video.
WOW! This was amazing - i agree with other viewers that getting to watch HOW we can do it by you showing/guiding client on the technique is fantastic. Keep these videos coming. Maybe some EASY, FAST but STYLISH updos with clips - styling bangs different ways.
I wasn't expecting you to address having a cowlick, so I was pleasantly surpised by that part of the video! My mom and I both have major issues with cowlicks in the same place!
I have fine, thin, fragile hair with a double cowlick like her. I have had AMAZING stylists give me a low, chin length Bob and no matter what I do, or they do, my hair still splits in the back. I cannot use any products that spray and could get on my scalp because I am allergic to a ton of things, even some that say “hypoallergenic “. So, many years later, I grew my hair to mid back, stopped blow drying or using any heat on my hair. I only shampoo once a week (very dry). I will sometimes use a curl crème on just the lower strands because Ido have naturally wavy hair and it softens the ends. After day two of wearing it down, I always wear it braided or pulled back with a scrunchy or pulled into a messy, tiny bun. It works for me. I also, suffer from chronic pain and so cannot do any styling that requires me to hold my arms up. I even rest doing a braid.
Sounds like my hair except for no cowlicks here .......very fine / blow away type! and getting worse. (I'm actually 85 but no one believes me about that - & say I look 60 if that !). SO0O... rollers & hair dryers = I threw out = did not work! I think it's too reactive especially to damp weather. Have had the best result setting it at night slightly damp . . . . either large pin curls or using a soft roller type. That gives me the most control .... MIGHT last a couple of days. And I can wear it up in messy bun, or a wavy French twist. OH =. it's alot better now that the color went from a 'flat boring dirty blonde', to a nice bright soft beige ~ happier!). It has gotten easier to keep decent ! BUT I think I lost some 'volumn' to covid or loss of hormones or. bad thyroid !!! It's surprisingly gotten compliments ~ [we're very active / know way too many people ! ]. Perhaps something might help you !
This is EXACTLY what I need to see! Is thin-haired people really struggle with how to prep and finish our hair. Any tips on 2nd and 3rd-day hair would be fab!!
More for fine hair. This was great. Balayage would be a big deal. Explain how to cover gray hair ( at the temples is every two weeks ) . Loved the video thx you
I think I need the Justin Attachment to my blow dryer! My coordination skills are not there! But I do enjoy these videos, and I try to incorporate as many techniques as I can. I always learn something new, and today, I learned how to move the product through my hair! Thank you, and please post more!❤❤❤
I have never experienced my triceps shaking so much😂 This was a fabulous upper body workout that really pushed me out of my comfort zone. Thank you so much!
If you create it, I watch... Rarely do any of the clients have similar hair to mine, but there is always something to learn. Trust your gut, Justin. Your content is great. Keep it coming! I will be waiting next Tuesday to see what else I can learn!
Thanks for hanging out today! I'd love to know what was the most helpful form this video?

I really like this problemsolving, practical video. I wonder if there is any hairstyle you find looks good airdried…? since I got chronicly ill I simply cannot hold my arms up for that long to blow dry my hair or use hot tools😔. I’ve actually gotten compliments when I had just slept with my moist hair in a bun the night before. That was a comfort😅 If you have any more proffessional ideas on this topic please let me know❤️🩹
Thanks, starting at a new school tomorrow and you tips are quite helpful. 😊
I loved that you not only showed the proper way to blow-dry, and how to apply the product but said WHY it's important and why you need to pull up and use the brush.
Great instructions! I need so much more fullness at the top of my head.. I know why I’m not getting it… I’m not drying it correctly. Thank you! ❤
Bored
I'd like to see more for fine and thin hair vlogs! Thanks @justinhickox!
Yes, because this is not fine, thin hair. I would like to see one for truly fine. thin hair!
Love it
I enjoy watching your videos very much. I have very thin hair. The videos where you have your client helping style her own hair and your teaching her how to handle her hair are great! It gives us a better perspective. Thank you!!!
You're so welcome! I'm really glad you like that and the videos are helping! Did you like this format....a little less produced?
This is a great style of video thank you! I 2nd her comment. You teaching how to do your own hair is a very useful tool.
I will be watching more
Agree! It helps me so much to see teaching like this!
Less produced is awesome! Thank you for all your great teaching tools. And when is that new product coming?
Has been tremendously helpful!!!
I am so glad to see I have been doing it correct. I have argued with many a stylist that they blow my hair flat. I have to go home and start from scratch to get volume.
That’s been my experience my entire life!!!!
Yes and it’s a waste of money - even the highest end salon is clueless.
Me too girl! Me too!
This!!!!
This is one hairdresser that knows hair! Especially fine hair that is thinner - and makes his videos easy to see exactly what you need to do to help your hair look better! Thank you Justin- love your videos!
This is not thin hair.
Agree
YES!!
I'd like to see tips for thin, fine, straight short hair!
I really like how you showed us what exactly to do!!
Awesome! Did you like the format of this video...a little less "produced"?
Big thank u for addressing cowlicks. More please. . .
They are driving me crazy as well. Don't know how to style them. They are getting very annoying lately.
Me too.
YESSSS!!!!!
Agreed!
yes, more please!
Im a professional Hairstylist too! Great Tips I will definitely use! Make more videos like this! They Really Help! Always Learning. ✌️

Right 😢
Exactly
Diana that is exactly what happened when your arms and your eyes cannot see the back of your head. Same thing when they teach you how to cut your hair short in your back. With a mirror in one hand, the scissors in the other hand, you can no bend the arm the same way the hairdresser that is behind you can do it.
Or if you try your shoulders burn like crazy
well explained easy when your standing doing it and can see with out hair in your eyes lol
Finally a video that really shows what many of us have to deal with “ on the daily”
Looking forward to your new volumizing product!
That was great! And every time I blow dry with my round brush I hear you say "point DOWN thru the hair as you round brush, don't point AT the brush" as I practice and practice to make my hands move in the right direction. It's getting easier, and it shows as the end result as well!
Thank you! AND, I'm sorry you have to subject to hearing my voice in your head! No one should have to deal with that! LOL
@@justinhickox It's your teaching style but the voice of David Attenborough...depending on the day. lol!

Wish you would name specific products that the average woman can afford from drug store, Walmart, etc. Salon products are very expensive.
She is so relatable. I do the same thing as her. Thank you for teaching us.
My hair stylist asks me what product I want her to put in my hair. Speak up and tell her.
Agree, it always feels and looks dirty with too much product!
Now I just have to adapt this to my pixie hair cut 🤭
Maybe you’ll have a video for us pixie gals 🙏🏻
Its easier said then done if you have trouble holding the dryer and developing a way to actually hold the brush and roll it at the same time to create volume. Hence why my hair always looks fuller when a stylist does it.
So much help here! Every trick you demonstrated I was doing the opposite. Didn't know about the roots to the end principle, how to avoid creating a crease either. I appreciate you, Teresa for taking the blows and tugs for us. Congratulations for keeping your long hair, too. Here's to bigger, more glamorous hair that also looks natural and free. Thank you, Justin!
If that’s thin hair, sign me up! She has TONS of hair. Show us thin hair, will you?
There is a difference between thin individual hair texture, and thinning hair quantity. I'd like to see more on thinning hair as I've always had tons of good hair but now it's both thinning out in quantity and in texture.
I agree. I have about a third of the hair she has on her head , she has tons of hair. I have thinning hair and fine hair . I didn't always its just happened over the years.
I would look up thinning hair if I were you. She does have thin hair.
When I hit 50, with menopause and being extremely stressed out and possibly other reason I lost so much hair. It isnt falling out as much now, but I see no new growth. So sad because my hair is one of my few nice features. I'm not sure if I had Covid either. Idk, but I wish I could regrow some back
Perfect! This woman is my hair twin! I’ll def watch again to imprint tips in my brain. Thank you Justin!
Hi Justin,
Really appreciate this video. And will be looking forward to g forward to see one for us that have short hair. Thank you. 😊
I have fairly fine hair and found this video very helpful. Great tips! More please!
Great videos! I have extremely thick coarse hair myself, but my bestie on the other hand has very thin longer hair. So, I happened to come across your videos to share & explain the how to’s on thin hair. Thx for all of these, & please don’t stop making videos! ❤
He is spot on. I wish a lot of these hairstylists learn from him.
Love your videos.

Thank you!

I really liked watching you work with an actual person! super helpful
Every stylist should watch you no matter what. Thanks.
Thank you for sharing your tips for fine hair! I love the way you make things so clear and achievable on my own!
The cowlick in the back is my biggest nightmare. It parts like the red sea everynight😂

Fine hair has to be washed daily - it’s a fact of life - again the dirty hair being possible myth strikes again.

You're so welcome! I'm stoked to hear I can help!
I wasn't expecting you to address having a cowlick, so I was pleasantly surpised by that part of the video! My mom and I both have major issues with cowlicks in the same place!
Thank your mother .
(I'm actually 85 but no one believes me about that - & say I
look 60 if that !). SO0O... rollers & hair dryers = I threw out = did not work! I think
it's too reactive especially to damp weather. ]. Perhaps something might help you !
ps ~. I don't like using 'products' on myself & just a quick short spray to
hold works well !
This is EXACTLY what I need to see! Is thin-haired people really struggle with how to prep and finish our hair. Any tips on 2nd and 3rd-day hair would be fab!!
Excited for your own product!
I love how you actually teach the client how to style correctly and have her do it as well.

If you create it, I watch... Rarely do any of the clients have similar hair to mine, but there is always something to learn. Trust your gut, Justin. Your content is great. Keep it coming! I will be waiting next Tuesday to see what else I can learn!
