    I’m a hairstylist too, live in N.C. where there is a lot of humidity in the summer.
    I have naturally straight, flat hair like corn silk. I have a version of the Lisa Rinna style. I get a lot of volume by using a combination of Sexy Hair-Root Pump Plus and the TRESemme Volume Spray on towel-dried hair, then, blow dry (med/high heat) with a round brush. The Color Wow and the TRESemme also work good together.

      Yes I would love to hear more about products and scent. It is so hard to find hair products that are NOT scented that actually work. There are so many people who do have scent issues and cannot use products that have scent in them - also just because they don't have scent in them, but have essential oils, that counts as scent as essential oils are very overpowering and people with scent issues typically cannot use them either. I sure can't. I wish more hair care companies would include unscented products in their line.

This was confirmed by some other stylist friends, and the mannequins can’t tell you that. Secondly, I’d like to know how well the products washed OUT of the hair so as to not cause “product buildup”. Thanks for an informative video, Justin!

    • @justinhickox
      @justinhickox  19 дней назад

      These are great points! The product buildup aspect is great...may be harder to test since I find that many times it takes multiple uses to really determine how much a product will build up. Worth talking to a chemist about for future videos though...thanks for that idea.

    The ColorWow is the best volume product BY FAR I have ever used. I haven't used the other 4 in this video, but I've been using many volume-promising products for 40ish years. Most weigh hair down (while promising to be "weightless" of course), feel gritty and dirty, and make hair look dull. Any volume deflates the instant you touch your hair, or move around., or try to add any shine. When I tried ColorWow, I was truly shocked. The only slightest negative for me is that my hair feels a tad dry, but I can fix that with a few drops of oil WITHOUT deflating the volume. I can even add DreamCoat over it for more shine and to reduce frizz in humidity. Amazing.

I have products I use most (at the moment I’m using Kenra Memory styling mousse) my hair is shoulder length. Nothing…I mean nothing I use looks good after bout 45 minutes…lol…
    Funny question?? How many heads popped off and out of your hands & down the stairs??…lol….I kept thinking about that all throughout the video..lol..but was “almost “ sure if it happened you would have left it in the video ❤

    Get Science Guy Justin an Award!!! This was so fun and interesting... I think you have to keep going for the sake of this 68 year old Jersey Girl... Humidity is the enemy. August is a "don't get a haircut cuz you're mad at your hair month" because it's almost impossible. BUT, curious to know how your experiment is effected by hair texture and volume? I have thick, wavy hair that's thinning a bit at the top, so while I don't need overall volume, I am interested in the top of my head and never sure how to balance my "two" heads of hair. I want lift and volume at the top and then wavy/humidity control for the rest of it... Hats off to Gabi who I've followed for years. She's amazing! Oh, and your assistant was top notch!

It's pure white and would make beautiful long straight silky locks. But at my age thats not a good look (yup i paid attention to that video too lol). And i love Gabbi.
