Applying mousse to only the top of the head! This never occurred to me before and I love that! Also, pulling the sides and back downward, rather than styling it all up and around a styling brush. Doing these two hacks has saved me a lot of time styling my hair. Since you've broken down all of the steps, it all makes perfect sense to me now.
❤ Tip: Keeping the nape & under the front super sleek. My hair is like your wife’s: enough hair for 10 people, but each hair is fine. Summer humidity is always a challenge for my slightly wavy hair too.
This is the first time in my life that I have understood what is going on with my hair when I blow dry. It helps to know the "why" behind the technique so you know what you're going for! (Other than "that looks bad, that looks good, don't know why, I'm lost.") I feel like your vids have given me a new language for understanding haircuts, volume, layers, etc. Thank you!
The size of the round brush matters SO MUCH!!! After watching this video I finally spent the money and got a larger one and WHAT a difference in volume! I always thought my "short" hair didn't need a huge round brush but yes it does! Thank you so much Justin!!!
I have never found a stylist who puts so much thought into how they style hair. They do pretty much the same thing all the time, regardless of the cut or the type of hair the client has.
Try to find an educator. These are stylists who offer continuing education and hence are guaranteed to do their own (Granted, certain sized city required). Just call a salon and ask “Do you have any educators there?” If you can’t find an educator, have a friendly interview with your potential stylist. Ask them what sort of continuing education they are doing. Stylists committed to ongoing improvement in their skills LOVE to share what they’ve been learning and perfecting-and the pros they’re taking classes from.
Agreed, teaching how to care for the cut is the other half of going to a stylist. Very few ppl show you how to style according to the cut they just did. This is very informative
Amazing cut & style!! Unfortunately it's nearly impossible to find stylists that can actually cut a bob. . Anyone else feeling this? I feel like we need a published network of bob specialists like we do doctors. My last cut was so uneven & overly texturized it's been 14 weeks since I have been able to fix it. I can see why bob haircuts get a bad rap because most are hack jobs. Do they not teach this cut to younger newer stylists? Thank you for your tips & sharing your talent.
Thank you so much for watching - there really should be a network of bob specialists! Hopefully this video might help some stylists learn the technique
Your experience with this bob cut, and your descriptive tutorial is awesome. I just feel awkward asking my stylist to watch the video before they start cutting. I haven’t visited your website recently, any way to add “Girl Scout” badges for high achieving stylists Off to shampoo and Style! Thanks to you and Dione
Others have said this already, but I am go to repeat and then add on - Thank you for having her do her own hair with your guidance! I watch other videos (not yours, you are new to me), then try for myself and fail. I LOVE my stylist, and she knows and cuts my hair so beautifully, but when I get home I can't replicate it. I think at my next cut I will ask her to let me do the styling with her guiding me so I get the hands on practice as well as implementing blowing from the back forward!!
You are so welcome! I'm really glad I could help. I'm a big fan of having people work on their own hair. It allows me to see the small mistakes that are happening as well as it's more relatable for the audience. It's great to hear it's working.
Absolutely! As a hairstylist, This is so valuable! I have explained to my clients what I am doing, & how to do it…but hands-on lessons are the way to go! Thank you for this!
@@Teewriter So they let you walk the door with your hair wet? 🤣I went to hair school and was shocked to find out that here in the US they don't teach how to blow dry. Actually they don't teach it at all. Unless you live in NY or LA, you won't find hairdressers who can blowdry the right way. Just watch some videos here on YT. They do a crap job drying some simp's hair and just use a flat iron, which does nothing but fry and destroy your hair. I call it the lazy way.
@BinkyTheGoddessDivine my hairdresser is incredible with blowouts. I love her. Sincerely! I've been going to her for 16 years now. And I am gonna be heartbroken when she doesn't fo hair anymore.
Not only do I try to replicate your blow drying and styling techniques, but I use the shampoo, leave in conditioner, and blow dry protector you recommend. Saves me so much time and money knowing that I do not have to buy and try additional hair products! A bit more expensive up front, but so worth the money in the long run. Thanks to you both for sharing your knowledge and your lives with us. Blessings!
@@justinhickoxI am not sure you realize how many lives you and Dione touch with your videos! You are so helpful to me, and I cannot thank you enough! ❤
You are a genius. Tried this on my very fine hair, and it's the best blow dry I've ever done. Thank you. I'd love to see more on how you styled the front - the "bangs".
WOW!!! Justin, Thankyou for the great tips. Just because I'm not a trained stylist does not mean your hair tips are not appreciated. I'm 73 years old and have seen many changes throughout my lifetime on using various tools. Lately I've been enjoying using a flatiron but struggling on how to really use it. In fact, I bought it and looked at it unused for 6 months because I thought I would burn myself. I could use some basics for sure. Like how to section my hair and keep it out of my way. I so much enjoyed this video and have just subscribed to your channel. Please keep it coming. Even if what you are saying is too advanced for me, I enjoy learning about it. I love how you explain why you are doing what you are doing so that I can understand what I am striving toward.
Step 4 is the best tip ever. I have fine hair but lots of it and wavy/curly. I like it smooth and sleek. Tends to curve at the bottom and get triangle (tent like.) This trick is perfect. I can get sides closer to my head and get volume on top. Thank you for sharing this. ❤❤😊
I've never been particularly good at styling my own hair. But I have to admit for the first time using your techniques, even a little clumsily, my hair looks much better. Who knows how gorgeous my hair will be with practice! Update: It’s been 6 days since I did my hair and the blow dry is still holding up! (I don’t have to wash my hair that often.)
I am a 73 yr old woman with post memopausal wiry, frizzy, medium length hair. Even after a keratin treatment, I could never blow out my hair the way you show here. It was be a bushy, frizzy mess. I’m not good with a brush and blow dryer, so I use a Revlon combo brush hair dryer. I’d lotto see you do a blowout on hair like mine.
I just bought a beautiful bob wig that has a monofilament cap and hand tied, heat resistant fibers, so right now it's a great cut -- but needs to be styled. This video was hugely helpful to do this and in a modern, flattering way. Thanks!!!
I think the not drying it in one specific direction , the nape bit and only putting product in one area were eureka moments for me.Very informative and fantastic that you let her dry her own hair so that we can see what to do. I have this exact cut with grey hair ( so this end look is so much modern and groomed)and will definitely try this out.Thank you for being so generous with your stylist knowledge.😀
This was a really good tutorial. I have similar length hair,, a bob, with lots of body. My nape is extremely curly and makes my top hair stand almost straight out in the back. I’ve been getting my nape shaved because it’s also very hot in the summer time. I often don’t blow dry it and use a hair band as I can’t stand hair in my face. The only product that works to keep my hair out of my eyes is a hairspray with a very strong hold(they tend to be strong smelling). Anyway, not complaining. I love my full head of hair. Born a redhead, now my sideburns are white..The rest of my hair has lovely natural reddy, blonde, taupe tones. Quite an interesting mix. I’m 73. I enjoyed your vid and will use some of your tips. Thank you!
Sent your bob tutorial to my stylist. She loved it so much she's thinking of doing it to her own hair which is currently long. She's giving me this cut next week... I'm so excited!!
Hi Justin Thank you so much I used your video for a sleeping occasion and it worked so well Thank you for sharing all your wisdom and knowledge and tricks Such a blessing! God bless you and your business greatly
@@StacieBussey for DIY all you have to do is: put you hair in a bun at the nape. Not too tight! You can use a hair clipper to cut off the end bit. You can soften it either with the hairclipper by randomly cutting into it, or with thinnin scissors. The higher the bun you put, the more dramatic look you get at the back. You dont need all that hard work with the round brush anymore. Just bend over, dry your hair and in the end straighen the bottom bits with a flat brush or iron.
I have tried to blow dry my hair using this method. Unfortunately my hair is frizzy and over the years I've learned that I need to start blowing when hair is quite were and applying friction. It comes out smooth. I do go for keratin treatment, always nice. I really enjoy your videos...you are a great stylist😊👏
Finally, a solution to the drab bob problem! I've always had this problem with a bob and hesitated to have one because of it. Now I know what to do! Off subject, Dianna is so beautiful.
Great tips, which I've been following for years as a long-time bob girl with thinner hair. I part my hair in the middle about half the time and the tips about managing the roots is key. I rough dry and add my big round brush and sometimes my flat iron. I actually think the before style is pretty nice although I like to keep the volume at the top of my head in the back and front. My bob is getting closer to lob length and the tips still apply.
Thanks for this! I had a few things wrong. The mechanics of this style and what you're doing makes sense. I don't have a bob though. I wear it long but am considering a shorter style. I can see some ways that would work better using your techniques here. And I hated every blow dryer I've ever owned. The latest one has a brush built in. I've been looking for one I like for a while. I have been just air drying for the last several years after trying blow drying again and again because it just doesn't come out right. It looks fried even though I use the heat protectant. And I'm not good with a brush and drying. I tend to use my fingers and a wide tooth comb the most. Anyway, I ordered this blow dryer and crossing my fingers. I really wish I could walk into your establishment for a do-over. I've been searching my area and just can't find an analytical stylist with creativity and know how to work with my own specific needs. Anyway, I appreciate your videos so much! Thanks
I really like how you’re having her do it and explaining as you go! Makes me feel like it’s possible for me. And you’re really good at getting your points a cross! The visuals work. The before picture is totally me. Almost want to get a bob again to try it out!
Wow, the difference is amazing!…Dionna nailed it when the BOB was pulled out for her!…but, then again, she would look amazing in any style or cut!…this video is super helpful even just to blow drying your hair…great information, Justin!…kudos to the Power couple of RUclips!!!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀
Looking forward to styling my longer bob using your techniques. I LOVE my Laifen. Bought it a couple of years ago after your endorsement. Works so much better for my coarse wavy hair than the expensive brand. The heat cycling is key to protecting my hair and keeping frizz down. Wish it had a longer cord but I make it work.
God I seriously love your passion for this. Everything you teach is the same things I've learned from experimenting on my own hair. I swear I learn more from experimenting with my own hair than from clients. Your skills are on point and your wife is THE best sport. You both rock! Love your content so SO much❤🤩
Fantastic! Was pondering why my bob was dragging my face down - now I know! Though I'm challenged styling my hair, I'll certainly rewatch this video - attempting to apply your experienced techniques! Greatly appreciate ALL your thoughtful videos!
Oh wow, thank you Justin ❤ my hair is in a bob and when it grows out a bit, I dry it so wrong. I've just tried these technique and it works perfectly. I have fine hair with bangs. 🎉🎉🎉
I love this! I just got a little bit shorter bob than hers and haven’t been loving it because I feel like it’s too poofy on the sides making me look like a helmet head and this video is exactly what I needed to see to help me understand how to not make it so poofy on the sides! Thank you!!
THANK YOU, Justin! This is the best tutorial, for for a bob, that i've come across. I've had this style a few times over the years, and recently have been contemplating another.....your video has convinced me to go ahead and get this cut, wooohoooo!! 😀 Much appreciated. Anna 🍃🌹🍃🍃
I love Dionna's bob styled so many different ways! I have shorter hair. Volume and body on top and in back are my best friends! Side note: I also love Laifen. I've purchased 3 of their hair driers and rec'd the new toothbrush yesterday! It's innovative and so cool. I got the chrome one which looks so sleek! Love it.
That’s awesome! Thank you! The Laifens are great right! Funny, we just got the toothbrushes yesterday as well!!! I’m trying it out for the first time today!
So I love this video! I recently cut my long graying hair into a short bob. Everyday I got up and it was so frizzy all I did was try to put it into a tiny ponytail. After watching this I realized I was drying my hair all wrong. I would love to show you a before and after pic but not sure if this allowed. I just wanted you to know how grateful I am for all the tips! Thank you
This video is GOLD! Thank you, thank you, thank you Justin and Dionne. I blow dried my hair like this a few days ago and what a game changer! I always used to land up with the traingle effect like in the picture on the left and used to hate it. I am also going to swap out my hairdryer for a lighter one so it’s easier to work with.
Will you please show us how you got the front pieces into a backward position for the finished look vs straight down? Thank you!!! I’m not sure how to achieve this.
I doubt he styled her front bang to backward. I think it wanted to land that way after the large rounded brush was used. Mine will do that without my intention if I just give it a flick of my wrist.
Thank you for spreading the good word on the Laifen dryer. I’ve had mine since start of the year after my Dyson died on me and it’s fantastic. Love the alternating cold-warm-hot feature. 🙏 can’t wait to put these drying tips into action for my next blow dry.
I love love love that not only you're explaining and giving tips, but you're letting her do everything. The theory is nice, but implementation is a different story :-) One comment though - Tip #5 is the hardest to implement because of the angle. I think that's the part I wish to see her doing it by herself ;-)
I have that hair that curls up at the bottom like you are talking about even when I feel like I’m turning it under with a round brush. After a few minutes it curls up and I have straight hair.
I have a great bob haircut but never can get it to look as good as it does when I leave the salon. This is a game changer. After watching this video, I wet my hair, applied the volumizer, and followed the steps you gave. It looks fabulous! An added bonus is that it took half the time it took before and you solved the problem of the nape curling out. Thank you so much.
I came across your channel through this video-case studies are incredibly valuable, and I'm eager to see more in the future! Building wealth involves establishing routines, like consistently setting aside funds at regular intervals for smart investments.
You're correct. I think the smartest way to go is to spread out your investments. By putting your money into different asset classes like bonds, real estate, and stocks from other countries, you can lower the risk if one part of the market goes bad.
That sounds like a good plan. In the past two years, working closely with a financial market specialist, I've built a six-figure diversified stock portfolio. Now, I aim to diversify even more this year.
Talking about a financial market specialist, do you consider anyone worthy of recommendations? I have about 100k to test the waters now that large cap stocks are at a discount... Thanks
“NICOLE ANASTASIA PLUMLEE’’ is the licensed fiduciary I use. Just research the name. You’d find necessary details to work with a correspondence to set up an appointment.
THANK YOU for this video. I just got my stacked bob and I styled it, exactly as the first photo. I was not happy (but I know my hair stylist got the right cut...). It now looks exactly how I wanted. THANK YOU (ps even my stylist didn't blow dry properly. She poofed out the bottoms. I felt like a poodle)
I sent your video about how to cut a bob to my hairstylist...she may not have been amused. Haha I never heard back from her. Anyway, this video was SO helpful! Now I just need you and your gorgeous wife to come show me on MY hair. 😂
Thank you for the support! So sorry to hear your stylist didn’t get back to you. I’m hoping they were just busy. If in fact the video was the issue, it’s best you find a new stylist anyway IMO. The best stylists I’ve ever met are always willing to learn new things. The ones that struggle are the ones that are easily offended or already know everything. I’m really glad this video helped too!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have watched so many different videos trying to get my bob to look as good as when my stylist blowdries my hair and just couldn't get it right. It kept turning out like the first pic of your wife's hair. However, although I didn't have the mousse or the volume brush yet, I was desperate to follow your instructions today after I washed my hair and was amazed how much of a difference it made and how much quicker it was to get it done and still turn out how I was always wanting it to! You so described the issues I have with the nape of my neck too as it usually flips out but by blowdrying down and in circle pattern as you described it helped make a difference! Question: what size round brush did you use?
Love watching your videos Justin and this one especially as that is how I wear my hair. I have a cowlick in the back of my head, in the crown and down on the left side. Grrr! it is work but w/ my new Laifen blowdrier it doesn't take long at all to style. PS, Dionna is so pretty and love her hair in that style. Lookin good girl 🙌🤩
Just tried this on my thin, fine hair. Works a treat. Struggled to flatten the nape area with the dryer as I have a kink here so used mini straighteners to try and flatten it. Thank you for the tutorial ❤
Thank YOU! I'm thinking about doing a follow up to this where I explain how to style the front/fringe area in more depth as well as some tricks for next day styling. Would you interested in that?
a HUGE THANK YOU for this video. I have never had any hairdresser show me how to do my hair and actually most of them blow-dry incorrectly. Actually, most of the time, they cannot even cut the bob correctly :-( thank you for these tips 💗💗
Would have liked to see you finish it off. The top layer is the hardest. THAT would have been really helpful. I have moderately wavy hair so would also like to see this on a model that doesn't have naturally perfect hair anyway! (Just as she dried it before styling it was already shiny and smooth..... )
You’re so welcome! Thank YOU! I’m thinking about doing a “part 2” to this video where I share tips for styling the front and for “next day styling”. Would that be something you’d watch?
Thank you for the video! I will definitely try this!! My bob is growing out and all the volume is at the bottom now, thick hair and some wave in it, I had given up and just wear a ponytail now. I have also been using gel to kinda tame it a bit, but I see that moose on the top section worked great
Genius! I learn so much from your videos! I love the secret of brushing down on the nape of the neck to make it flat. I always have a problem with that. I also learned how important it is to follow through to the end of the hair with the brush when drying, huge difference! What product do you recommend for giving 2nd or 3rd day hair a little help?
Awesome! I'm so glad I could help. That nape trick is a big one for sure. Can't wait to hear how it works for you. This is a great spray for next day hair. It will give you some volume and control to restyle your hair. Volume/Thickening Spray: go.shopmy.us/p-4750464
@@justinhickox Is this the same spray you used when drying? I have used the IGK Good Behavior on the ends of my hair to keep them straight. It works great. I have curly hair on bottom & flat, straight, do nothing hair on top, lol.
💇🏻♀️ PLEASE JUSTIN, can you do a curly girl version of this?? I never blow dry my curly hair without a diffuser and definitely don’t rake my fingers through it like you do. I have a very similar cut and also want to keep my volume where it draws the eye up! Thank You!
Yes! Need no-blow-dry styling tips to achieve this uplifted look with Bob ❤. I’ve been wetting the sides of my hair and adding Moroccan oil to keep it from the pyramid shape.
This is very helpful. I have very thick hair that is fine. I am 65 and have a very specific and significant challenge with my hair parting-separating in a line down my crown. Please let me know how I can keep this from happening? Is it dry brushing side to side more than under at that crown area? Thank you for your help
Brilliant format, teaching her how to do her own hair. 6:03 this level of detailed info is exactly what noobies like me need. More hair shaping/face flattering/styling tutorials, plz!
Omg just styled my hair this way, 2nd day hair so no drying, and it looks so much better!! The wrong way is how my bob always looked, I'm so excited🎉 Thank you so much!!!!!
I have a very similar cut, but my hair is straight, thin, and slippery fine. I am anxious to try this tomorrow morning when I dry my. hair. For YEARS, I have been putting my styling product at the nape, and ALL OVER thinking it would give me more volume. I'll check back in !! I've literally had the same basic cut for about 25 years, and I've been doing it wrong all this time !!
@@justinhickoxyes absolutely! To see how high to hold my arm as I’m styling to get the right angle, watching your coaching and corrections is super helpful.
This is a great video! I'm washing my hair in the morning & plan on using your tips. I also purchased the hair dryer. That hair dryer looks awesome and it's much cheaper than that "other" over priced one. I am saving this video on my Pinterest board so I can refer back to it. ❤
Her hair is very much like mine except my nape is somewhat frizzy ( maybe from over flat ironing) the top is heavy and wavy. I’m always battling the top weighing down. I love her cut and the change you made by just styling. I have a similar cut, but I have had long layers added trying to get lift. These techniques will really help me. Another issue I’m having is finding a good technique to curl beach waves with my flat iron and keeping them throughout the day.
Will try these tips in just a few minutes! And yes to national directory of bob specialists! My stylist is excellent at it and we did the math and I think I’ve been going to her for about 13 years. She is currently taking some time off to have her second baby and I am going to have to see somebody else at least one time before she gets back. And she didn’t have anybody to refer me to because she’s working from home now. So I am nervously looking for someone who can cut hair.
hi i’m so glad i found you youtube channel!!! i recently cut a bob and have been struggling a bit with finding the right way to style it and your videos changed everything. finally i was able to achieve the volume i craved and get the damn hair out of my face!!!! so thank you so much for sharing you tips and tricks with us!!!
This is SOOOO GOOOOD, any chance that you could demonstrate this with curls? I have a similar cut, slightly shorter but very curly. I only wash every 6-7 days and use a diffuser. The shape is everything, sometimes I get it right, most times I don't and I don't know what I'm doing differently.
Thank you so much for sharing this advice! My hair looks like the before on most days and I couldn't figure out why it is like this on one day and different on the other. I have very little experience with styling because I wore my hair simply long for most of my life. This is so insightful because I finally understand what is happening with the hair. It explains why it looked good on a day when I just combed it down and let it air dry - it made the nape and the sides really flat and allowed the rest of my hair to move and lift itself a little. I was surprised that it looked better than the day before when I had used a blowdryer. Also thank you for sharing the option with just a blowdryer and the hands, as I have pracitally zero styling tools at home.
I’m waiting for my Laifen hairdryer to arrive, in fact the same white one you used here so now I know what it looks like. Can’t wait to try it out! My hair is growing out from a pixie but still trying these techniques. Not sure it’ll work for me, once I get weight/length in my hair it just goes flat but I’ll try 🤷♀️ Thanks for showing me how, and products. I’ve ALWAYS struggled but now it makes more sense. ❤
I had this problem with my hair. The layered tweak is lovely, but on me, the layers at the back grow out quickly and turn up. From the get-go I find the back hard to control. Once it grows out considerably, it is easier to manage. Great haircut but needs a professional's constant attention, not for people like me who don't go too often to the hairdresser! But now I understand much better what I could do to improve things (including going to the salon more often). BTW, your model is stunning, not hidden by makeup, false eyelashes etc. Thank you both.
Justin, could you do a video on curlers? I have a set of Velcro curlers and want to know how to get max lift and curl by using them. (like do i dry to damp with a product at the roots first, do I dry and then put a product and then apply heat with the curlers in?) I want a great curly hair look (almost sexy) now I have longer hair. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us!
You’d definitely only want to dry your hair like this if you’re planning on styling it straight or adding wave with a flat/curling iron at the end. If you’re wanting to enhance the natural curl, this method of rough drying would absolutely add frizz.
Loved the video- knowing where to put the mousse was huge for me. I wished you would have filmed how you created the front, I have cowlicks there that I always struggle with!
I dont think its high maintenance at all. I style it Day 1 then I get 3 more days out of it where I literally put in a bit more texturing spray then just run my fingers through it and mess it up...but I like the messy look.
I respectfully disagree. She’s not doing any more maintenance than I do every day with every hair style I have ever had. In my 60’s, I have had long, short, medium, all one length, layers, perms, color, etc over the years.
Thank you for this tutorial. I applied the technique to my blowout and my hair cut layered bob looked so good! I didn't have to mess with it at all...and I usually do mess with it because it doesn't look right and I didn't know why...but this works!
G E N I U S I've said it before but this has got to be one of your best Bob videos yet Justin. The difference between the first pictures and the second pictures is so pronounced. 😮 1st = most of us mere mortals looking old fashioned and flat haired. ☹ 2nd looks fab, full, funky and modern and all in the way we dry it. That's why you're a hair stylish and we're not. Am definately going to try and master this, as Dionna made it look easy and I know it won't be that easy, but practice makes perfect. 😊

Fantastic video,thank you❤
Your experience with this bob cut, and your descriptive tutorial is awesome. I just feel awkward asking my stylist to watch the video before they start cutting.
I haven’t visited your website recently, any way to add “Girl Scout” badges for high achieving stylists
Off to shampoo and Style!
Thanks to you and Dione
I feel the same way. My sides always seem just not right!!!!!
Totally agree!!!
Thank you so much! Now I know why I love my bob when I leave the hairdressers and feel frustrated when I do it myself. These tips are precious !
I love how he shows HER how to style her hair and has her do it with his help.
Absolutely! As a hairstylist, This is so valuable! I have explained to my clients what I am doing, & how to do it…but hands-on lessons are the way to go! Thank you for this!
I came here to say this!!! It got him a subscribe. :)
I do too , because that is the huge challenge is trying to learn to do it yourself. ❤
👍👍. Excellent demo! Thanks 👍
Yes, never seen that!
Wow! One of the very few tutorials where the hairdresser really knows how to do blowdrying the right way. Well done!
Thank you so much for watching
Last couple times I went to the hairdresser I complained about the way she dried my hair. Then I realized I don’t pay her for a blow out.
I LOVE how he is having her style out and providing feedback while she does it!!!
Blessings!
So happy my recommended products work for you - that's music to my ears! You're welcome, and thanks for your support
Can you share what the blow dry protector is?
@@justinhickoxI am not sure you realize how many lives you and Dione touch with your videos! You are so helpful to me, and I cannot thank you enough! ❤
What products were they ? What's the mousse and spray?
This is very helpful. Thank you for having Dionna do the work so that we can see how to do this for ourselves.
I really like when she's co-hosting!
So do we! Her bob is immaculate, and it is super helpful to see her styling it.
I would love to see how to do the back of my hair - I feel like I need an extra arm (or two!)
OMG. I so needed this video. My hair looks so much like the before pic 😂. I can’t wait to try this. Thank you!!!!
That’s awesome! I’m so glad this helped! Please come back and let me know how it goes for you!
Me too! I just got my hair cut yesterday and now I can’t wait to try out these tips!!
I love how you had HER do it!!
I felt so frumpy yesterday, followed these techniques today, and I feel fantastic! Thank you both!
So happy you're feeling good! Thanks for letting me know, I appreciate you
At least the techniques helped
I am a 73 yr old woman with post memopausal wiry, frizzy, medium length hair. Even after a keratin treatment, I could never blow out my hair the way you show here. It was be a bushy, frizzy mess. I’m not good with a brush and blow dryer, so I use a Revlon combo brush hair dryer. I’d lotto see you do a blowout on hair like mine.
I find it so much easier using a rotating brush dryer, arthritis prevents me styling with brush and dryer now.
...love you guys ..such a supportive, friendly marriage...your wife is a beautiful model..what a smile!, face shape, eyes, etc.

I want a live-in stylist too!! I'd always make you style my hair if you were my husband -- how awesome!! Absolutely gorgeous 😊
Thank you so much for watching! Dionna does her hair herself, but is my hair model sometimes!
Love that! Be sure to let us know how it goes!

Hi Justin
Thank you so much
I used your video for a sleeping occasion and it worked so well
Thank you for sharing all your wisdom and knowledge and tricks
Such a blessing!
God bless you and your business greatly
I just got the same haircut recently. Now I'll know how to style it. Thank you so much for the tips!
That's awesome! Make sure to come back here and let me know how these tips work for you!
I have a bob and am wanting my hair to look like this!! Justin, your tips have helped me immensely! Thank you
@@StacieBussey for DIY all you have to do is: put you hair in a bun at the nape.
Thank you so much always for your support Linda!
Love your content so SO much❤🤩
Aw, this is such a wonderful compliment. Thank you so much for your support and care. Thank you for being here, we appreciate it, Crystal!

@@justinhickox the toothbrush will put a buzz in your lips! 😂
Thank you
What a difference that blowout made!! It looks like a different cut! Amazing.
The Difference is a other haircut. Dont believe in commercials. 😂
Thank you so much! My bob is growing out & I have an important meeting in 2 days. These tips will help me style it sooo much better!!
Update: I rocked my interview: felt super confident. Thanks again for the style tips!!
Love the tip on how to control the volume on the sides and nape! Great video, Justin! Thanks ❤️
Thank you so much for watching, I appreciate you!
The theory is nice, but implementation is a different story :-)
One comment though - Tip #5 is the hardest to implement because of the angle. I think that's the part I wish to see her doing it by herself ;-)
I am going to try this, I have thin hair but this makes so much sense. Thank you!
I have that hair that curls up at the bottom like you are talking about even when I feel like I’m turning it under with a round brush. After a few minutes it curls up and I have straight hair.
Do you use product?
Sometimes but I don’t like to because I don’t like the way it makes my hair feel.
Thanks

Gets new stylist 😮😮rude!
She has a ton of hair. Not all of us do. I can get lift for about 15 minutes. Love her look!
I use hairspray ... a Freeze Hold kind. They don't hold as well as they used to (helmet hair, LOL), but they still hold enough.
This was really helpful showing how you would do it yourself instead of how the hairdresser/stylist would do it for you. Thank you.
Just tried this on my thin, fine hair. Works a treat. Struggled to flatten the nape area with the dryer as I have a kink here so used mini straighteners to try and flatten it. Thank you for the tutorial ❤

Would have liked to see you finish it off. The top layer is the hardest. THAT would have been really helpful. I have the same problem
I feel your pain.
Do you live in a humid environment? Humidity can do that to your hair.
@findyourpassion8722 but so can fine thin hair. Too much product weighs it down
Oh my goodness! That is exactly my problem! If I use a lot of hairspray to try to keep it in place then I look like I'm wearing a helmet

This was incredibly helpful. Thank u!!
So so happy this video helped you get your styling groove. Thank you so much for your support!

My hair is growing out from a pixie but still trying these techniques. Not sure it’ll work for me, once I get weight/length in my hair it just goes flat but I’ll try 🤷♀️
Thanks for showing me how, and products. I’ve ALWAYS struggled but now it makes more sense. ❤
Let me know how you go! Thank you so much for your support - we hope you like the Laifen as much as us
great job as always!❤❤❤❤
Thanks! Crazy that this is the exact same haircut just styled differently right!
I would really love to see a demo for a curly layered bob with fine Gray hair.
I will add this to my video idea list. Thank you for your suggestion, and thank you so much for watching.
4:07 I could never dry my wavy curly hair like that it would a frizzy mess! I guess maybe I could try it with a brush to control it more!
I wished you would have filmed how you created the front, I have cowlicks there that I always struggle with!
in short, this is a very high maintenance hair cut 😂 reminds me of when i had this style bob and why I grew it out lol
G E N I U S
I've said it before but this has got to be one of your best Bob videos yet Justin.
The difference between the first pictures and the second pictures is so pronounced. 😮
1st = most of us mere mortals looking old fashioned and flat haired. ☹
2nd looks fab, full, funky and modern and all in the way we dry it.
That's why you're a hair stylish and we're not.
Am definately going to try and master this, as Dionna made it look easy and I know it won't be that easy, but practice makes perfect. 😊
Thank you so much! That makes me so happy to hear. Try out these techniques and come back here to let me know how it goes!! Can’t wait!
