    thank you , iv got the noise , it comes and goes , and I dont feel the vibration at all the bike rides fine , but it gets more pronounced , and it does sound like its spinning and sometimes it sound like something is also spinning and gets caught and then spit out I thought maybe its the clutch disk maybe breaking up , which isn't making sense to me , but a piece of textile on that narrow shaft and when you shook it around I can hear sound like sormthing hitting a sheetmetal piece something like what that shaft was more of a rattling rather then the thud of a piston or timing chain , thank you , as soon as I head that noise you made with that worn shaft , it was the same rattle almost like a snare drum
    sincerely

    Thanks for your help seeing what this noise is. I have driveshaft spline noise on front section from failed sleeve/boot. And also the textile/rod noise.

    • @briansmobile1
      @briansmobile1 11 месяцев назад

      82k miles. Confirmed. Clutch rod $75 worn back 4mm and textile $11 is leather-like. Primary noise/concern wasn't driveline splines or U-joints. It was the gearbox oil past due.

    2005 GS, had the noise, but louder. It locked up on a ride. I suspect the input shaft bearing dumped its contents into the trans.

    If I want to replace my clutch rod, would these be the right steps? 1) Remove rear wheel, 2) remove shock absorber, 3) remove clutch rod housing, 4) pull the clutch rod out, 5) insert new clutch rod with new textile, 6) reassemble everything. I have a 2005 R1200GS. I have replaced the pushrods (all were out of spec), both cam chain tensioners (springs were soft), and adjusted the valve lash. The only noise I still hear is the transmission as you described in this video.

    Changed the rod & the textile bearing with new oem parts. Easy fix, just took out the rear suspension. Noise is still the same, unfortunately...

    The little felt or "textile material" actually serves another purpose: on the 1150s but also the 1200s where the clutch slave can go bad when you don't put your bike in neutral (e.g. at traffic lights), the bearing will be bad over time.
    Then brake fluid MIGHT leak towards the clutch and not only destroy the clutch surface but also eat away the grease of the splines.
    Eventually, you will end up with stripped-out splines (when all the grease is gone).
    The felt is to somewhat stop the brake fluid (I know: for the 1200s it's hydraulic fluid)

    Good morning,
    Thank you for this video and these details. Having the same noise on my 2004 R1200 GS, can we disassemble this part without disassembling the clutch because I tried by removing the receiver but the part does not come ...
    THANKS.
    Steven.

    Great Information!! I had a same noise problem in 2014 r1200gs Liquid Cooled 67,000km.
    Is the same reason on this of clutch rod textile material ?
    I had changed the clutch plate and pressure plate yesterday, but this noise is still alive.

    Great video very professional. Can i ask you a question? I have a 2007 bmw r1200gsa 40,000miles on bike, i changed engine oil and i found small brass looking particles in old engine oil, would you know which component could be wearing in engine , thank you

    • @motonest8633
      @motonest8633  3 года назад +2

      It can be a lot of things, I would suggest to use a magnetic drain screw at the oil bath. in this way the small metal particles will not travel trough you engine. But nevertheless there is an oil filter as well who suppose to do the job

    Rattling noise is coming from the damper of gearbox input shaft

  • @TheRogermursick

    would my R1200c have a similar noise. I'm hearing a 'new' buzz, vibration, that I've never heard before and can not locate it. It's not bad but different. I've owned this bike for 19 years and no her 'normal' sounds.
    And thanks for posting the video.

      I've done a clutch change at a r1200c years ago. I general is the same principle. The problem at that motorcycle it was the clutch actuator cylinder. They (BMW) use to recomand Dot4 as a clutch fluid but in time it looks that dot4 is damaging the cylinder and the clutch fluid it goes on clutch plate and disk. At the upcoming models BMW used mineral oil.

    Hello, must that felt stand heat? Could it be anything replacing it

  • @BreabanMarius

    Hello! I have a 2004 BMW R1200GS motorcycle, and I have an issue with the clutch. Specifically, on warmer days when I ride in the city and beyond, as the engine heats up more, I can no longer shift the gearbox into neutral. It's as if it doesn't find neutral anymore and feels like something is snagging. Also, during that time, when I fully pull the clutch lever, I feel like the clutch doesn't disengage completely, and the motorcycle tends to pick up speed. Could you give me an idea of what might be defective or what I should do?

    • @motonest8633
      @motonest8633  6 месяцев назад

      Marius schimba uleiul in cutie, Castrol sintrax full sintetic . Vezi daca mai face desi eu cred ca nu . Cutile alea sunt destul de bune deci sansa sa fie defecta e cam mica

    Quality of materials BMW is made of is poor - for example steel - compare to Honda - this cluch Push rod in honda is made from Hi-carbon steel and it never wore....... not like in this bike...... This is real change between BMW and Japan bike - quality of steeel and hiprecision of part ( CLUE : bmw is crap)
