Four months out from a TKR and I can attest that you are spot on in your recommendations. My surgery was further complicated because of a previous partial knee replacement. I have basically followed all your advice and both my surgeon and physical therapist are very pleased with my progress. Taking the pain meds prior to PT and frequently icing was very helpful. Thank you for providing these enlightening videos.
I have 5 month's after my total knee replacement, i had been having pain behind my knee, the calf and the front, i can bend my knee only to 16° and when i bend mi k 13:54 nee the pain travel to my Bonnie. A MRI show everything is good. I still going to therapy and do therapy at home. What i need to do to make that pain away and be able to bend my knee 30°. Thanks
I had a knee replacement a year and a half ago and still have a lot of pain - pretty much like it was a few months post-surgery. I have had X-rays done in the meantime and all appears fine. But the knee still feels warmer than the other and it often wakes me up in the nighttime when I have not been moving it for a few hours. It also always hurts a lot when I get up after sitting for a while. I have gotten used to the pain and still exercise daily on an elliptical and a stationary bike. After a while, my knee feels fine doing this. I am able to go up and down stairs, but not without pain. I am 76 years old and have arthritis, so perhaps the pain I have is not from the replacement but from that….
Oh dear, the op doesn't seem much to recommend itself ! So sorry you ate still in so much pain, you must be very disappointed. I have none on bone osteoarthritis in both knees and so I know about the pain. Good luck for future improvement 👍
On my way home from the hospital both my pain meds and epidural wore off... needless to say my pain level went through the roof and I vomited at least 6 times just from the pain.

Sir! To my mis fortune I didn't see your videos prior to my knee replacement which took place 1 month back. I have undergone 15 days physiotherapy exercises. As you said they give more importance to quadri and hamstring exercises. What shall I do? Kindly suggest. I am 73 with no other ailments.External sutures healed pretty well. No external swelling. Pain at sutures both externally and internally and stiffness of the joint. Kindly suggest what exercises I need. I remain ever grateful to you Sir!
Do the glute exercises on your own!! Butt squeezes can be done sitting. When you are in bed, do "clamshell", where you laying on you side and open your legs, lifting the upper one (like a clam shell). Those two can be done easily without weight bearing. He has a glute strengthening video. DO WHAT YOU CAN, to strengthen the glutes, so you can counteract the quad strengthening to a degree. Also the post up PT is fairly brief. You aren't going to build up "beefy, strong muscles" from those exercises. They are mild. You t PERSONALLY becoming a crazy glute strengthening maniac is important. Sitting in chair watching TV you can do butt squeezes every hour or two. As many as you can, and see how increase.
Fabulous information, such common sense from a professional! thank you, I was terrible at drinking enough water beforehand and now post TKR I’m the same, so will definitely work on that. Interesting I’m now 5 weeks post op and pain is settling and I’m moving around a lot easier and doing some chores again but I fooled myself into thinking I’m sorted 😁 wrong - terrible discomfort and stiffness next day along with patella pain which I hadn’t really experienced before so pacing myself now as you indicate. 🥰🏴🇬🇧
