9 months and 5 months after two knee replacements, mobility is great, but still painful on stairs and when getting up from a seat. I tried your suggestions (plucking and shaking) ONCE and had immediate improvement! None of the other scar tissue massages that I found on RUclips helped me much, but this is exactly what I need. Thank you! I was noticing a "ridge and trough" about an inch above my knee under the skin, and it's not there now. Ha!

So glad I found this video! I had a bad car accident 2 years ago and had to get a plate and eight screws to help my leg and knee heal. I had complications and had to have the plate and screws removed a few months ago and healing is very painful. I tried this and really felt a difference after the exercises. I will definitely incorporate this into my home based therapy!!!

I’m only 21 but I still found this video very useful. I had a tibial plateau fracture 5 weeks ago with a few torn ligaments and the scar tissue was the worst I’ve ever had. Ive been stretching and exercising for a little over a week now and I can finally bend my knee at a 90 degree angle.
That's great to hear that you're making progress in your recovery, @dhprojects3296! Recovering from a tibial plateau fracture and torn ligaments can be a challenging process, but with consistent effort and the right exercises, you can regain strength and mobility in your knee. As you mentioned, being able to bend your knee at a 90-degree angle is a positive sign of improvement. It indicates that your knee joint is regaining range of motion. However, remember to progress gradually and avoid pushing yourself too hard, as it's crucial to allow your body enough time to heal properly. Remember that everyone's healing process is unique, and it's important to be patient with yourself. Recovery from an injury like yours can take time, but with perseverance and proper care, you can continue to improve your knee function and regain your strength. @@DezziK-fe6hb It got a little better but not 100%. I found out I have a bucket handled meniscus tear that's preventing full knee extension so I have to get another surgery lol
@@dhprojects3296 I’m 25 yr old and would like to keep in contact with you through your journey I’m 2 months post from a tibial plateau and ankle break . I understand that this journey is Gonna be long but I’m hanging in there .
I’m going to incorporate these into my daily exercise regimen. That last technique you showed is the same technique used by one of my home PT’s, only she used her hands, providing resistance as I pushed against or pulled against her. It was the easiest flex I ever got in my range of motion exercises. It removes so much pain. But I didn’t know how to do it on my own without someone sitting there providing resistance. Now I know! Also going to incorporate the thigh plucking and thigh shaking. Something has got to work to get my extension better. I do not want to go in for an adjustment.
Hey @Jazzy.girl.Sarah2023! Glad you found the exercises helpful! It's awesome you're already thinking about starting them after your knee replacement. Shake Rattle and Roll, love your clips and they've been very helpful after my 2 knee replacements and getting rid of the scar tissue to help get more degrees in my stiff left knee.
I am definitely going to try this. I have no pain with my arthrofibrosis just a weird tight feeling. I will use the heat. I was using an ice pack 😫. I do have a wee bit of swelling. The area is above my knee. 1.5 inches above.

Did this solve it? The reason I ask is because… Imagine, I tore my acl 3 years ago and had an acl reconstruction using my own hamstring graft, then I had a cyclops lesion 3 times as a result of wrong graft placement and poor internal suturing/ stitching. I had to get it removed (the cyclops lesion) 2 times and then it grew back for a 3rd time. Now I have recently been told that I need to have a whole reconstruction done again in order to get rid of the reoccurring scar tissue (cyclops lesion) permanently.
Hi @TopBoi93! Great question! Many have found success after a full reconstruction, especially for scar tissue like the cyclops lesion. It could give you a fresh start. Have you talked to your doctor about your concerns? Wishing you the best as you navigate this! 💪

Thank you for this video, I will definitely add this to my routine. I'm 6mos post op from ACL reconstruction and meniscus repair and I might go back for another surgery to clean off the scar tissue that's been limiting my range of motion for a while now. I'm stuck at 95deg flexion and 10deg extension. I can feel a part of my knee that's hardened and it still looks bigger than my normal knee. Will doing these exercises regularly eliminate the need for another surgery?

hi i had ACL RECON and meniscus repair last year anda then after 7 month post op i had surgery again meniscus repair... after 4 months posy op i had locked again but this time at the patella ...its happen when im walking sometime my knee suddenly stuck or lock something..? cant extend to maximum and too painful..the pain is behind the pattela..its that hoffa..?or fibrosis or something else..hope u know the answer for me Mr..?
Hi, @hiewleejun4277! The sudden locking and pain could be due to various factors, such as issues with the patella, fibrosis, or other complications. In the meantime, try to avoid activities that worsen the pain, and consider rest, ice, compression, and elevation (R.I.C.E.) to manage any inflammation. I'm glad you found the video helpful, @louiseweir4473! When working with a patient who has limited flexion, isometric exercises can be a beneficial addition to their rehabilitation routine. Isometric exercises involve holding a muscle contraction without changing the joint angle. In the case of decreased flexion, your patient can focus on isometric contractions specifically targeting the muscles involved in flexion. Your patient can perform static holds at their current range of motion. For example, if they can only flex their joint by 10 degrees, they can hold the position for a certain duration (e.g., 10-15 seconds) and then release. Repeat this several times during a session. Your patient can gradually increase the duration of the static holds or the intensity of the contraction. This progressive overload helps to improve muscle strength and endurance. If your patient experiences any discomfort or pain during isometric exercises, they should stop immediately. Here's also a sample of isometric exercise that might help your patient. Hi, @ritasharp5676! Since you're three years out and feeling frustrated with your knee movement, it's a good idea to talk to your surgeon or physical therapist. Thank you for the video. I am 6 years post TKR on my right knee. My ortho diagnosed me with arthrofibrosis but basically said there’s nothing they can do. I’m now 51 and am in a lot of pain with limited bend in my knee. For the exercise where you place the heel against the stool leg…I can’t bend my knee enough to even get close to it. Do I just go as far as I can and push down with my heel? Thank you for any help.
Good instinct! Go with the range of motion you have, you can still exercise your knee even with a smaller range of motion. If you’re having a lot of pain use less pressure to reduce pain. You could also try the painful exercise after performing gentle exercises. That way your knee has had a chance to warm up and there might be less pain.
Hi, @anitabartel2662. Use warm moisture for 15-20 minutes before doing exercises. Make sure it's comfortably warm, not too hot, to avoid discomfort or burns. Hi, @bobmeyers3478! You can use ice and heat to help with pain and swelling, but they work differently and are better for different situations. If your knee is currently painful, swollen, or inflamed, using ice might be better. If it's stiff and not actively swollen, heat could be more helpful. Incredible video with simple clear steps. I broke my patella in half 9 weeks ago and my PT feels I may have dense scar tissue in a spot on my scar that is holding me back from completely bending my knee. She feels I’m stuck on 80 degrees and says I may have to go back to surgeon if it doesn’t improve in 2 weeks. I got a stationary bike but cannot get my knee to complete the whole pedal cycle. I’m hoping this video will help with the scar tissue. Do you have any other suggestions Todd? Videos? Exercises? Thanking you for what you do. ❤️
Hi, @effigy8620! Hats off to your commitment. Scar tissue can be a real pain. Give that scar tissue a gentle massage with your fingers before you dive into exercises. This helps break it down and gets the blood flowing. Keep riding that stationary bike but go easy, and focus on partial pedal cycles that don't hurt. Gradually, you'll get that full range back. Listen to your body, and if it says "ouch," stop and talk to your PT or surgeon. Scar tissue doesn't give up easily, so be cool with the time it takes. Don't rush, or you might make things worse. I wanted to get confirmation that these recommendations will help me with my built-up scar tissue in my knee. I had a knee replacement back in January, but my MCL tore during the procedure and I was forced to wear a brace for 6 weeks and unable to bend my knee. I started PT in early March, but was only able to get to 90 degree flexion. Then I had scar tissue manipulation last week and going to PT everyday. Will these help to get rid of any scar tissue that may have built up? My knee is still very tight and hurts when I bend it a lot. Thank you
Hey @barbaracamozzi1300! Sorry to hear about the rough road after your knee replacement. These tips could really help with the scar tissue, especially since you're already in PT and had manipulation. Not sure why, but my therapist told me not to put any heat on my new knee replacement. I’m two months since surgery…. i’m going to ask her on Friday if I can do this because I have such a stiffness in my knee. I’m bending ok, and also have other things I can do now but it still feels like my knee is stiff when I’m walking.
Hi, @Misshissproductions! I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing stiffness in your knee after your knee replacement surgery. It's understandable that you're seeking relief. Since we aren't able to do a physical exam and see exactly what is going on with your knee, I can't for sure recommend what things you should do. It's possible that your therapist advised against applying heat to your new knee replacement due to the potential risks associated with heat therapy, such as increased swelling or potential damage to the surgical area. However, it's a good idea to discuss your concerns and the persistent stiffness with your therapist during your appointment on Friday. Wishing you a smooth recovery!
Well, it’s been a year but I just thought I would say that no heat for the first couple of months but the last two weeks and I’m almost at three months. She told me it’s fine so I would say don’t do it the first two months and get closer to 2 1/2 and then I think you can use heat but always check With your PT but you’re a year out so you can definitely use it
I had both partial knee replacements, three years ago, and they both feel like a tight band around them. I feel it constantly and it’s so uncomfortable.

Hi, @paulareger9195! I'm not a massage expert, but I can share some friendly tips that might help with knee area massage. >Gentle Stroking (Effleurage): Start with light strokes to warm up, going along your thigh and calf muscles. Avoid pressing directly on your knee. >Cross-Fiber Friction: Use your fingertips with light pressure in circles or back-and-forth across the scar tissue. It might help break down adhesions. >Compression: Gently press and release around your knee with your palms or fingers. Move around the knee with steady pressure. >Circling the Knee Cap: With gentle pressure, make circular motions around your knee cap. It could boost mobility and reduce stiffness. >Stretching Massage: Combine massage with easy stretching. Hold the muscle above and below your knee, gently stretching and releasing. Avoid anything painful. >Heat Therapy: Try a warm compress on your knee before or after massage to boost blood flow and relax the tissues. Don't forget to talk to your healthcare or massage pro before trying these, especially if you're worried about scar tissue or knee stuff. They can give the best advice based on your situation. Hi. I had both TKR on both knees in February 2020. I’m in no pain really now but never really could get a good rom. Last May my left knee got an infection so the surgeon had to do a new replacement and said there was alot of arthrofibrosis in the knee. My question is would this help the right knee which is over 2 years out and the left one being almost a year out?

I’m in the middle of an extensive PT program. Was doing 2/week now one per week. This is my 4th left knee. I now have a single pivot and I had to have 6” added to my femur to get a solid point to mount the fourth knee. I’ve been treated at 5 hospitals the last being a world renown clinic in the mid west. I was not impressed except by the hubris of the orthopedic doctor who left my leg significantly shorter, post surgery. We are talking double digit mm. Also I got my third infection, one of those that if you in your 7th decade you can count on taking antibiotics to the promised land. Your technique has merit and I will try it and report back, hopefully with some measurables after a few weeks of trials. I am a retired engineer (we never retire, everything you can see, feel or touch can be reduced to physical science and manipulated), I also was exposed to biomechanics and a lot of analytical statistics so hopefully I can give you factual data, not opinions.

Hello,I have an open fracture and had a surgery on my knee 2 months ago and i have been flexing my knee from 0-60 now painfully,Now i can't get past 60 degrees and it is very painful and it feels very tight ,what should i do pls tell,My age is 16 and i have 2 screws implanted in distal femur.
Hi there! After a surgery like this, it's important to work with a Physical Therapist on a stretching rehab program to help you gain back your flexibility. Are you seeing someone or trying to rehab on your own?
Since we aren't able to do a physical exam and see exactly what is going on with your knee, I can't for sure recommend what exercises you should do. While exercise can be beneficial for overall health and well-being, it's unlikely to make scars disappear completely. However, certain exercises and stretches may help improve flexibility and range of motion, and reduce discomfort around the scar tissue. Physical therapy or rehabilitation programs tailored to your specific needs can often aid in the healing process and minimize any potential limitations caused by scar tissue. Here's an article that might also help you to break up scar tissue. Please check out this link: feelgoodlife.com/knee-exercises-for-arthrofibrosis/
Ruptured quad tendon 8 weeks ago. A physician told me that a shorter leg is harder to recover ROM. Is that accurate information? I’m at about 70 degrees now. Been a little struggle. Thanks for the tips.
Don’t worry about how long your leg is! Regaining ROM takes time, and you’re recovering from a significant injury. Keep up with the exercises your physician or physical therapist has given you and give yourself time to heal!
Hi, I'm 2 and a half months post op after a cartilage surgery fix. For some reason i can't bend my knee more than 50° I been doing physio and physical therapy but im really scared. Dr told me that I've built up some fibrosis under the scar. I've got 1 week left to get some progress. If not he recommended MUA. i've been doing 10° progress in a week. What would you suggest? To wait another week? My patella is slightly moving. It's very stiff. The scar is right next to the patela which is very annoying cause I'm working really hard on with my therapist and at this point don't know what to do. I've been doing some reading about knee cartilage fix and found out that the recovery it's quite long. Does that include the range of motion as well?
Hi @whitenoise6625! Recovery can be slow, especially with scar tissue. It’s great you’re working with your therapist. Since your doctor suggested waiting another week, it might be worth a shot. @@FeelGoodLife what are the risks doing a MUA ? I'm really scared and depressed. Do you think my knee will bend like before ? I'm really down and hopeless
Hi @whitenoise6625, I’m sorry you’re feeling this way. MUA has risks, but it often helps with range of motion. It’s normal to be scared, but many people do improve after it. Keep talking with your doctor and therapist-they’ll guide you best. Wishing you strength and better days ahead! 💪
Great question, @patricialarsen6460! Arthrofibrosis is a condition characterized by the excessive formation of scar tissue (fibrosis) within a joint. It can occur as a result of various factors, including trauma, surgery, inflammation, or prolonged immobilization of the joint. Arthrofibrosis typically affects the knee joint but can also occur in other joints, such as the shoulder, elbow, or ankle. Here's also the article related to this video. Please check out this link: feelgoodlife.com/knee-exercises-for-arthrofibrosis/ I hope this helps.
I had my ACL reconstruction with partial meniscectomy 3.5 months ago nd my knee flexion is 120 degrees nd I feel my knee getting stiffer can this help ? Nd is it possible to get my full flexion back with PT ?
ACL reconstruction is a big surgery with a long recovery. This may help but physical therapy usually plays a big role in regaining your range of motion after surgery.
I had an arthroscopy about 8 weeks ago and have a "full" feeling and a lump in the area where one of my incisions is, but it is not on the proximal side of my knee cap but rather the distal side. It is a lump under my knee cap where it usually feels soft/mushy there. How would I break up that scar tissue at that location? What you are doing doesn't seem like it would do much for the area under the knee cap. My surgeon mentioned massaging or even pinching that lump to break it up, but I'm looking for a video so I can do it correctly.

Hi there, im on my 1 month post op acl and meniscus repair, i have a good flex and extension, while walking or bending my knee to a certain angle (less than 90) i can feel something hard below on my knee cap. Is it possible that this is a scar tissue? How can a therapy help this? Is there any way to get rid of this aside from another surgery?
You’re really early in your recovery! Give yourself time to heal and keep up with rehab. You’ll feel a lot of things in your knee as you recover and that pain may resolve on its own in a few months!
Dude you need move your knee religiously or you’ll develop some serious arthrofibrosis ( internal scarring of the knee) don’t go crazy but keep the joint moving extending and flexing
I'm still after almost two year's trying to learn how to run again after my car accident i have built up scar tissue underneath my left knee. The weird part is i can run on a treadmill just not without one. Arthrofibosis i never heard of so that's not my issue.
I fell and tore my Quads October 2 and had surgery November 2 then got blood clots in my lungs. I have been going to PT. They move my leg till I scream with pain. I only keep the brace on for going outside in bad weather or going on stairs. I can't move my leg more than 60 and they pushed it to 70 and I screamed it hurt so bad. The PT. were talking about manipulation. It is now late January I am worried and Can't stand the pain in PT.
Hi, @jeffkelly5972! I'm sorry to hear about your pain. It's really important to let your healthcare team, including your physical therapist and surgeon, know about any pain or concerns you have. They can make adjustments to your treatment plan to make things more comfortable for you.
@@FeelGoodLife Thanks I see the Doctor on Thursday and the PT team push the bend that makes me scream with pain. They said I have a lot of scar tissue.
Hey there, @jeffkelly5972! Using pain medication can really ease the discomfort you're feeling, making those physical therapy sessions more bearable. Plus, when your doc says it's time to ramp up the intensity, it's all about breaking down that scar tissue and getting your knee moving better. Just stick to your doc's advice and keep them posted on how you're doing and any changes in your pain levels. You've got this!
Will this also be helpful for medial collateral scarring at the quadricep, mild scarring of the MCL tendonitis and bursitis? I am 31 years old with no injury’s and have the above and I want to try to heal natural instead of getting steroid shots. Any help I’d appreciated it started almost 3 years ago to the point that I couldn’t walk I am super stiff and have been getting a little better with holistic healing as well as natural supplements 🙏🏼 ty for the video I have a massage gun I use on my quad and it looks king of similar to this.
Joann, I would recommend checking with your primary doctor or PT. They will be able to tell you when/if these exercises and stretches are right for you.
So I've had a knee replacement and I can only get about a 75 degee bend 6 weeks after surgery. They are suggesting MUA. I'm scared to death and they say leg bones can be broken and no guarantees of a better bend, just lots of pain and swelling afterwards. Is there anything I can do to avoid this procedure?
It can be scary to think about going back in. One of the best things you can do is be diligent and consistent with your range of motion exercises at home. They're uncomfortable, but work on getting your range of motion back!
Hi Penny. My doctor scolded me at my six week check up just three days ago after my knee replacement. It motivated me to quit babying my knee. I have been slacking on the range of motion exercises because it hurts so bad. I finally just picked up the attitude of well, it hurts and I’m going to have to cry through it. I hope you find a way to do that. The thought of an MUA scares me as well and I’m going to do whatever it takes to avoid it. Now it’s about a month after you posted. Anything new? Were you able to avoid that MUA?
I’ve had 4 open surgeries and 3 MUAs due to infections and other complications following a right TKR in 2020. It’s been the biggest nightmare of my life. Since my last surgery to make a ruptured quad, I had to stay in a cast for 3 months and now 8 weeks after removing the cast I’m only at a 45° bend. I’m now adding these exercises and praying they work.

Use the range of motion that you have to perform the exercises. You will find that over time that the range should improve (maybe not to full range) and pain will decrease!
Hello! I’m on day 3 of total relief in my right knee after doing steps 1 & 2. Thank you so much! I had a minor bruise in my knee September of 2020 and I believe it healed. But then I was tortured by something in my right knee for 6 months. This technique gave me full relief.
I had TKR on my right knee 10 1/2 months ago. I went back to the surgeon 3 weeks ago as I was concerned about the "tightness" I felt when bending it. He did some x-rays, asked some questions, etc and determined that I needed to do some "strengthening" exercises. I have continued to do the exercises that PT recommended as well. After watching your video I am hopeful that perhaps your exercises will help! Is there any reason I shouldn't try it??? I certainly don't want to make things worse. By the way, on my last visit, he measured the bend at 125, but going downstairs is still not 100% or bending my leg back while standing -- very stiff. Thank You.

I'm sorry to hear about your health challenges, @oldgoat50. It sounds like you've been through a lot with four surgeries and dealing with complications like a staph infection. A range of motion (ROM) of 60 degrees is certainly limited, especially considering you mentioned having 125 degrees before your surgeries. Recovering from multiple surgeries can be a challenging and sometimes slow process, but with time, effort, and professional guidance, improvements are often possible. Hi, @tanveermerchant2434. The use of heat is not typically recommended immediately after knee replacement surgery. Ice is preferable the first 2-3 months out from surgery when you’re usually in the early inflammatory stages; however, once you’ve reached this stage post-operatively if knee joint Arthrofibrosis has developed, then heat can be a beneficial tool to break up that pesky knee scar tissue. Here's a great resource that can better explain it to you. Please check out this link: www.feelgoodlife.com/knee-exercises-for-arthrofibrosis

Great video. Thanks. I have a patient who had really decreased flexing i.e. 10deg actively. How can she do isometric exercises effectively?
Please check out this link: feelgoodlife.com/rolled-ankle-treatment/

Hi, @ritasharp5676! Since you're three years out and feeling frustrated with your knee movement, it's a good idea to talk to your surgeon or physical therapist. They can check out what's going on, figure out why your range of motion is limited, and suggest ways to help.
Getting back your full range of motion takes time after a knee replacement. Be patient, keep at it, and celebrate the small wins along the way. Consistency is key!

Also that movement pressing my heel sends pain all the way up my calf, shin, and into my knee. 🤦🏼♀️
@@FeelGoodLife I appreciate your response. Thank you 😊
I am still using an ice machine for swelling from ltkr 11/14. When is it good to apply warm moisture and these exercises?
Hi, @anitabartel2662. Use warm moisture for 15-20 minutes before doing exercises. Make sure it's comfortably warm, not too hot, to avoid discomfort or burns.

I heard you should ice 🧊 around the knee not add heat. What is the difference?
Hi, @bobmeyers3478! You can use ice and heat to help with pain and swelling, but they work differently and are better for different situations. If your knee is currently painful, swollen, or inflamed, using ice might be better. If it's stiff and not actively swollen, heat could be more helpful.

Hi, @aislynnsoave2788! Since we aren't able to do a physical exam and see exactly what is going on with your knee, I can't for sure say how effective this exercise for you. Two knee replacements and a full quad tear repair. New knees but so much scar tissue I still can’t walk without pain!
I'm so sorry to hear that! I hope the three steps in the video help reduce your scar tissue and relieve some of that pain for you.
I’ve had 7 surgeries on my right knee since 2020 due to infections and tears after knee replacement. Scar tissue nightmare!! I really hope this helps.
Did you try castor oil? Did it help?
How many times a day can you do these exercises
Great Video.... Thank You ❤❤❤
How soon after knee replacement is it safe to do these exercises? Thanks,
It would really depend, @karolynnsiegel8308. I just suggest for you to consult your doctor on how soon you can start.

Make sure to talk to your PT about any pain or limits you're feeling-they can tweak your plan. Here's to a smoother recovery ahead! 🌟💪

What is the time frame AFTER tkr surgery????for your procedures???
Hey @pamelagilmour8060! After total knee replacement surgery, recovery times vary. Usually, you'll focus on exercises, pain management, and improving mobility for several weeks to a few months. But getting back to normal can take several months to a year, with ongoing improvements. Just stick to your surgeon's advice and keep working with your healthcare team for the best recovery! 🌟

3 months ago I suffered a shattered patella (repaired with ORIF surgery). After 8 weeks immobilized I lost about 90% of my quads strength. I'm now 3 weeks into PT and incorporating your exercises as well. I'm amazed at how quickly it's coming back. I'm still experiencing stiffness but I can see and feel improvements daily. Thank you!
Awesome, Emily!!! I'm so happy for you!
How ur knee now
How has your knee come along?
@@HoldMyJewels it is almost 100% now! I still have some work to do to get the muscle built back up. But I am running again and stairs are no longer a problem. I still "feel" it now and then but nothing limiting. There is hope! It's taken a lot of work but I'm really pleased. 🙂
Hi Emily. I have undergone patella surgery and immobilized for 7 weeks. Started PT two days ago. Would appreciate your inputs and tips. Thank you
Imagine, I tore my acl 3 years ago and had an acl reconstruction using my own hamstring graft, then I had a cyclops lesion 3 times as a result of wrong graft placement and poor internal suturing/ stitching. I had to get it removed (the cyclops lesion) 2 times and then it grew back for a 3rd time. Now I have recently been told that I need to have a whole reconstruction done again in order to get rid of the reoccurring scar tissue (cyclops lesion) permanently.
I’m 31
Hi @TopBoi93! I’m really sorry you’ve been through so much. It’s tough dealing with recurring issues. A full reconstruction can feel daunting, but it might be the best way to tackle that scar tissue.
@@FeelGoodLife thank you!

Well, it’s been a year but I just thought I would say that no heat for the first couple of months but the last two weeks and I’m almost at three months. She told me it’s fine so I would say don’t do it the first two months and get closer to 2 1/2 and then I think you can use heat but always check With your PT but you’re a year out so you can definitely use it
I will do anything to get this awful stiffness out of my knee. I am almost 2 months post op from meniscus and cartilage clean up.
I hope you find this video helpful, Theo!
I had both partial knee replacements, three years ago, and they both feel like a tight band around them. I feel it constantly and it’s so uncomfortable.

I need massage techniques focusing on knee area and breaking up the scar tissue in that area
Take care! 🌟

You're welcome, @troxlerh437. Since you have wires and screws in your knee due to the fracture, it's crucial to follow your surgeon's or physical therapist's guidance closely. In cases where there are hardware (wires and screws) in the knee, some exercises may need to be modified or avoided to prevent damaging the hardware or compromising the healing process. Your healthcare provider will be able to give you specific instructions on which exercises are safe for your particular situation and when you can start incorporating them into your rehabilitation program.

Tony, yes! If there is scar tissue present, these exercises could definitely help you!
One more question. Why moist heat and not a heating pad? I have a heating pad but not a bean bag.
So, moist. So, when you put the bean bag in the microwave it gets the moisture from that?
H, @kathleenlazarowski4266! Moist heat tends to penetrate the skin and underlying tissues more effectively than dry heat.

Can you do that plucking if the patient is on blood thinner Plavix , will it cause problems ?
Hi, @annaathome2995. To ensure safety and minimize risks for the patient that is on a blood thinner, it is important to consult the patient's doctor. They will be able to assess the potential risks, consider any interactions with medications, and provide guidance on whether plucking is safe in an individual's case.

Hey, @cherylmathew3925! It's wise to follow your doctor's guidance. Heat isn't typically advised right after knee replacement surgery. During the first 2-3 months post-surgery, when you're usually in the early inflammatory stages, using ice is preferred.

Hi there! After a surgery like this, it's important to work with a Physical Therapist on a stretching rehab program to help you gain back your flexibility. Are you seeing someone or trying to rehab on your own?
4.5 moths after surgery. Can the scars tissue go away by trying this exercises?

For some reason i can't bend my knee more than 50°
I been doing physio and physical therapy but im really scared.

What exactly is arthrofibrosis. ?
Great question, @patricialarsen6460! Arthrofibrosis is a condition characterized by the excessive formation of scar tissue (fibrosis) within a joint. It can occur as a result of various factors, including trauma, surgery, inflammation, or prolonged immobilization of the joint. Arthrofibrosis typically affects the knee joint but can also occur in other joints, such as the shoulder, elbow, or ankle.

Just stick to your doc's advice and keep them posted on how you're doing and any changes in your pain levels. You've got this!

Is the hot tub agood source of heat to apply
A hot tub can be a great way to use moist heat to help with stiff joints and tight muscles. Just make sure all incisions are fully healed if you're going in after a surgery.

What if I only have 66' degrees and 70 on each leg
Use the range of motion that you have to perform the exercises. You will find that over time that the range should improve (maybe not to full range) and pain will decrease!
Have you found these techniques helpful? Let me know!

Thank You.
Hi Sandy, I'm glad to know my videos helped you with your recovery on TKR. Aside from my videos, I have another great resource for you to check out. Please link on this link for articles that you can read in strengthening your knees. www.feelgoodlife.com/powerful-exercises-to-strengthen-your-knees Please let me know if you need help finding them!
Stay positive, keep working hard, and don't hesitate to seek support from friends, family, or support groups to help you through this journey.

Hi, @kathleenlazarowski4266. Thigh Shaking exercise is considered as a warm up which should be done before engaging in the knee isometric exercises
Thank you. And, thank you for responding quickly.

I was told that we can't put heat on the knee .was asked to use ice pack
Hi, @tanveermerchant2434. The use of heat is not typically recommended immediately after knee replacement surgery. Ice is preferable the first 2-3 months out from surgery when you’re usually in the early inflammatory stages; however, once you’ve reached this stage post-operatively if knee joint Arthrofibrosis has developed, then heat can be a beneficial tool to break up that pesky knee scar tissue.
Here's a great resource that can better explain it to you. Please check out this link: www.feelgoodlife.com/knee-exercises-for-arthrofibrosis

Hey 👋 bro,
I had ACL Surgery in dec 2019
But I have stiffness and hardness in my left knee
When ever I put some little pressure it pains and stuck
There is crackling sound in my knee
And whenever I walk just 1 km
I have pain
Whenever I sit for 1-2 hours it pains and stuck…
And whenever I want to run fast 💨 it don’t allow me to run fast
Can these exercises help?
Pls reply…
Thank u soo much Dear…🙏💕
Try it out! Sounds like there could be some scare tissue in there since your knee can feel stuck. If your pain levels are still that high this far out from surgery, it might be worth speaking to your primary care physician about treatment options or even physical therapy to help!
You didn’t put camera to show what you are really doing ?….?
Hey @kmsy200! Thanks for your feedback. I'll definitely take that into account for future videos. I want to make sure everything's crystal clear for you. Thanks for watching! 📹👍
