My son had an abdominal surgery at 1 week old. We got none of this advice from his doctors. It took us recognizing problems three years later in his hips and legs before we saw a pt- who traces all the problems to the adhesions in his abdomen. 🤦‍♀️ thank God for PTs

The most important is gradually loading the tissue.
Being able to slow down/control forward movement of the knee with muscles rather than knee joint.
If progressed properly, also working on ankle/hip motion along the way, it will have huge benefits.

Try incorporating "backwards" walking into a walking program...work up to at least 10 minutes. It strengthens ligaments and tendon areas that normally do not get a good blood flow. I tore ligaments in my right foot when I had a clean ankle break. It took a long time to heal. The numbness is from nerves being cut... Whatever you can do to move your foot will help but the "backwards walking" really helped me the most and is easy to do. I go to a local middle school track and alternate regular walking with backwards walking. After just three days I was able to lay down without pain and get some good sleep again.

Does the age of the scar matter ? Had a surgery when I was a couple months old that never allowed my muscle to grow only when I gain a lot of weight I notice the scar lift but if I’m underweight the scar is painful with no support under

It feels like the surgery separated the muscle tissue cuz the skin & muscle grows like it’s split compared to my other leg limb 😢
