I am passing this to My wife. She had a double mastectomy 3+ years ago and they told her no need for rehab! I can tell almost every evening she is in pain that seems to have increased over time, and needs to do something. I truly believe You are Our answers to a better quality of life. What a blessing from above!!!

Hi Ron 🙋🏾‍♀️ Sorry to hear about the after affects of your wife’s double mastectomy.
I myself have gone through the procedure and also had lymph nodes removed. Although I wasn’t assigned a physical therapist after the initial mastectomy, my surgeon did assign therapy after performing my diep flap surgery. Having therapy was extremely critical and a necessary transition to rehabbing on my own. My therapist set me up for success and I was also very self motivated and started researching stuff on my own.
Although I hate RUclips censorship, I’m still thankful to have a platform like this that I’m able to educate myself.
So far I’ve used the following to aid in my recovery:
      1. Serapeptates - this was helpful, but research and proceed with caution as this can really lower blood pressure. I took a full bottle and stopped and am now about to start it again (I believe in cycling all supplements to varying degrees).
      2. Self massage - I feel like the serapeptates helped to loosen some of my scar tissue which made it easier for self massage
      3. Rebounding - Helps with lymph circulation (I LOVE IT). And a little goes a long way. Start with 5 minutes and work your way up.
      4. Stretching 🙆‍♀️- Especially in the arm where they removed the lymph nodes. There are great stretches that can be found on RUclips (look up stretches and lymph nodes).
      5. Castor oil packs - I’m about to start doing this. There’s a tone of videos to educate yourself about this technique. Anyone who has had any type of surgery should do this.
      6. Cupping - I haven’t tried this yet, but as you can see; I’m trying to learn more about it. I have an incision across my stomach from the diep flap procedure and have noticed a slight swelling from scar tissue development (I’m nipping this in the bud now).
Best wishes to you and your wife.
      God bless 🙏🏾✝️

@@shrutisingh5310 sorry, I don't check notifications often. Massaging my scar tissue might have done harm because my incision had a hard time healing properly - the left and right side didn't quite come together smoothly and now i have an indentation in my face. Removing my basal cell cancer which was too small to be seen was one of the worst decisions of my life.

I had this surgery also. Perhaps it's not too late to apply Mederma as well as silicone scar gel and especially silicone scar sheets to flatten out the area. Mine is slowly healing nicely. The scar sheets are amazing. I believe my dermatologist can also inject the area with cortisol to dissolve the extra collagen.

So glad I found your video as I’m 8 months post lumpectomy and my scar is definitely bothering me; I had instinctively been massaging it lightly but not one of the medical professionals I was seeing ever mentioned massaging the scar, and only one mentioned stretching exercises, which I’ve been doing. My scar has tissue underneath that runs slightly perpendicular to the scar line and has become thick and at times tender. And the scar is very close to the aerola/nipple making it a little more challenging to do the rolling motion. Hoping that after learning the techniques from your video and purchasing a cup, that I’ll start to feel relief.

I was taught by my physical therapists to massage and to cup my over 4 inch long keloids from surgical reduction of a complex ankle fracture (3 bones). The techniques only required a few minutes per day for me. I am now post injury 2 ½ years and my keloid is still improving, parts of it have disappeared completely, the overall length is shorter, the parts which remain raised are flatter, thinner, and more normal skin color. Progress is slow but it continues. Have patience, the techniques really work.

I had a Wolf Mini Maze surgery back in June of 2023. A minimally invasive surgery, where the surgeon goes inbetween the ribs with the camera in one incision, and same side, another incision for the instrumentation to ablate the gangelion plexi on the outside of the heart to get rid of Afib. The lung is deflated during this process. The one is flipped over to the other side, same thing is done, and additionally a clip is inserted over the Left Atrial Appendage to eliminate blood clots forming in the LAA. Two scars on the other side. I'm now wanting to work on these scars, as they bother me, when I wear regular bras, and if I can get some of the scar reduced, I think I could go back to wearing a comfortable bra. I would think that the techniques written here would help. Have you have questions about scars from the Wolf Mini Maze? Thanks! Gail PB
