    You have told me more about helping my knee than any doctor. All the want to do is to do knee replacement. I have good range of motion. My pain is bad when I go up and down stairs. I can’t stand long or walk more than a mile at a time. I am going to do these exercises and get better. I’m 75 and work 4 days a week. I’m not ready to give up. I was supposed to have surgery last year and my doctor had to cancel to have her baby. It was meant to be. Keep helping me.

      I just had my right knee replaced. It was extremely knock kneed. It's straight now. My left leg feels like these exercises can stave off the 2nd knee replacement. This knee is straight. But, the replacement knee that was made straight is longer than the left. I'm almost thinking I should replace the left in the hopes the length will even out. At the moment, I use double shoe inserts in the shoe of the shorter side. I wonder if I should save my left knee or just replace it

    Hi Dr. David, My MRI shows a grade 4 chondrosis in the right patella femoral. This explains the major knee pain when walking and the steps are a killer... I have been watching many of your videos, and this one is the PERFECT one for me and my injury. I've only been doing these three exercises for a few day, but it's made a huge difference in my pain. I can't Thank you enough for sharing your wonderful gift of healing. A true Angel ~ much love from Pennsylvania!

    OMG! I was at the ortho today,sitting on the table waiting for him to come in to look at my knee, and I was doing exactly that. After I left (need a knee replacement) I was able to go to the grocery store, the drug store, and out to dinner!!! I had no idea why, but that had to have something to do with it. So glad I found your channel because he wants me to go to PT, but I can't afford it. So I'm going to try all of your knee exercises.

      Dear Sir -
      I have suffered many years with painful knees. I’m at the point of agreeing to knee surgery because of severe pain and the inability to walk without severe pain. Obviously from here videos my stretching has been too intense and probably the reason why I’m in a big huge orthopedic flare up.
      I do Aqua Spin (riding a bike in water) twice a week and I always do Deepwater aerobics once a week. I’m not sure if either of these are doing me more harm than good? I have to walk now with a cane and can’t walk too far at all. My knees are incredibly stiff painful. I have huge Baker’s cyst behind both knees both knees. I want to do one of your programs but I’m not sure which one I should do?Can you please advise me thank you so much you’ve actually given me a little bit of hope that maybe I can avoid total knee replacement. X-rays and MRIs dictate that I need knee replacement of both need ASAP. Appreciatively,
      Marilyn

    I learned the first one many years ago after I accidentally hyper-extended my knee, with one addition. It was recommended that a light weight, such as an ankle weight, be used once the pain had improved. I did this for several months, and it worked wonders. Fast forward to the present, and I've been using it again while I heal from a mild lateral meniscus tear. I sit on my kitchen counter, with the cabinet door below open, and slightly swing my legs back and forth while wearing a light ankle weight. I don't remember where I first learned the technique, but evidently my viewing history brought your video to me (lots of searches re knee pain lately). I just wanted to say that this exercise is extremely helpful, even if you're not quite bone on bone yet. Thank you so much for posting. PS - I'm 75, with mild osteoarthritis, and my exercise routine includes strength training, HIIT, plyo, core and a weekly power walk. Not ready to give any of that up. _Use it or lose it!_ =[]==[]=

    Dr.Manuel,you have been extraordinarily helpful to me with my recovery. I do have one question that I am hoping you can give me an answer to. Ok,my bone on bone knee arthritis is definitely at a great spot for me to begin your exercise regimen. I'm currently learning the best nutrition plan right now and I am also working on my gluts daily but my knee is stuck straight. . In all honesty do you think that I have a chance at getting my leg to bend again? My other leg (left) is completely fine and healthy. I will continue to listen to your directions and continue with the exercises and learn what supplements are the best for me to be taking.
    P.S.) is collagen 1and2,,citrus fruits, and ginger along with shell fish with turmeric and ginger all good foods to be eating
    Thank you very much.

    Have been doing the glute exercises but have found if I do it too intensely it makes the knee pain worse.. I leave off for a couple of days and will slowly get back to it. Like the tailgate exercises.. Thanks for your in-depth podcasts. I have stage 1-2 knee pain.

    Thank you so much, saw a consultant today who dismissed my thoughts about my muscle imbalance due to scheuermanns kyphosis and scoliosis causing more damage to knee joint( bone on bone at 55). Was told 20+ years ago would need a knee replacement but was too young, managed it until now. You have given me hope to manage it the best I can.

    I'm hoping this can help me. My knees are pretty far gone. Since I am overweight I can't exercise, and the Dr I saw is obviously worried about his mortality rate. There are many reasons why I got in thus condition. Thank you for showing all these exercises! I have missed so much of life, it is very depressing!! Basically trapped inside my home.

      Hey Mary, sorry to hear about your knees and weight. If you're more than 70 pounds overweight, your priority needs to be addressing your diet more than exercising. Not that you can't try exercise by any means, but you likely won't see as much improvement in your situation by focusing on exercise. Getting the extra weight off will make a significant improvement to your overall health and that is worth A LOT!!! Don't shy away from addressing your diet by focusing on your knee pain too much.

    I was looking for help and I think you provided it. I was recommended for double knee replacement, however, turns out I have allergies to all metals used in the replacements, including the metals in the cement. Waiting on metal tests from Germany for the alloys used in ceramic. I believe my pain has been reduced by doing these exercises. Thank you.

      It might be a tibial shift, for sure. That can contribute to a knee cap problem.

    Thank you! I go for double knee shots every 90 days. The effects last only a couple weeks, max. It’s a difficult scenario to know if I dropped 20 pounds I would be pain free (I’m a yo-yo dieter who knows this), but the more weight I gain about my goal weight, the harder it is to walk. The more sedentary I get, the more I gain. I’m tired of starving myself periodically to lose weight. I’d rather be able to keep up consistent walking. I’m hoping these exercises truly work. I’m am anxious to check out the video on “toe exercises”, as I have thought for a long time that my “feet feel out of balance”. I don’t know how to describe it better.🤷🏻‍♀️But I feel like my toes are lifting up when my heel hits the ground instead of gripping the ground.

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy
      @epmanualphysicaltherapy  3 года назад +2

      Hey Linda! Yes, toes lifting up during walking is usually a sign of not using the toe muscles enough for walking. And this will lead to knee pain over the long-term.

      I had weight gain for other reasons. No gallbladder and no thyroid so unable to digest without digestive enzymes and even then…When I was diagnosed with fatty liver, I started the Keto diet. I lost about 30lbs in about six months, I was walking normally and doing 50 squats with my exercises until something triggered the baker cyst and the rest, 4 months ago. Getting TKR next Monday. I’m eating homemade keto ice cream now and it’s great!

    Thank you doctor. Will do all the recommended exercises. I injured my right knee about 18 years ago because of not warming up before a run. It started swelling with water then which needed to be drained. I have a crackling in both my knees when I move them & I also have varicose veins. I realised that my knees are not really getting a good supply of blood as a result & I also dont drink much water which is going to change immediately. I do not want to go for an arthroscopy as I have heard people complain of pain during cold days. I can walk without pain but I cannot dance or run and a result I have back pain from not being able to exercise my back by dancing. What do you think the crackling sound of my knees mean? Should I go for an arthroscopy ?

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy
      @epmanualphysicaltherapy  11 месяцев назад

      Great question Elizabeth! You can look to do quad strengthening in the future, however, currently it is more important to really focus on the glutes. We want to make sure that the glutes are the dominant muscles of motion before concentrating on other muscles of the leg.
