This is a battle in Combat Mission Black Sea which is one of a series of realistic tactical combat simulations from www.battlefront.... A wide variety of settings are available from world war 2 (Normandy, Market Garden, Sicily, Italy and the Eastern Front) to modern day fictional conflicts in Syria (Shock Force 2) and Ukraine (Black Sea)

You shouldn't have put the smoke, as none of your vehicles(t64bv, btr4) have a thermal image and also you are the one who is defensing and you are setting the smoke for enemy to push. Maybe just played too much ww2 battle I guess?

That tank commander needs the Ukrainian Medal of Honor for that stand in the field.
Less cinematic shots and more of what you are doing and whats actually happening would be welcomed
My videos/AAR focus more on what is happening rather than the how. There are a lot of great RUclipsrs showing the details on tactics and techniques, I like to tell a story. That said I am playing with some ways to document the 'how', I just haven't got a format that I'm happy with just yet

Sorry you struggle with the volume. It's something I'm always trying to get right and sometimes struggle with, it sounded OK on the video prior to upload. Hopefully the other videos have a better balance

Totally noted. I struggle with the volumes almost every video I make, often the processed video doesn't match the edited volumes. For some reason every time I record, sound level or a setting is different to the last time and I have to rebalance everything. I'm sure it's frustrating but I'm constantly trying to work out how to make it better and more consistent
CMBS is about a tough a game as there is. There are times playing when I'm seeing my forces get decimated. There's no such thing as a defensive position in this game, sitting in one spot too long and firing from that location is almost suicide. I've had BS since it was released and it still teaches me a lesson at times. Another excellent video Double I wouldn't mind seeing BS again.
Yes, CMBS is very unforgiving. I have a couple of BS battles to turn video, times a bit short right now, and I learn new stuff in both ;)
Very interesting, this was one of 2 modules i didn't have the other being Afghanistan. So its good to see it in action. However if i'm honest, The WW2 stuff peeks my interest a little more.
I used to really enjoy playing this series myself, but stopped recently after 16 years of trying and consistantly failing to figure out the dark art of H2H multiplayer match's. If you ever make a video showing old farts like me how this dark magic works. And i mean really simple step by step, Then i might consider reinstalling all my modules and trying them again. until then i'm happy to watch your 1st rate content. Keep up the great work.

@@MrSirDouble dude, tell me about it. I'm too used to what I know comfortably in WW2 and the (borderline) asymmetrical warfare of Shock Force. I'm really being challenged by it so far. I almost don't know where to begin when I start a scenario, especially Going To Town. Cheers though, man.

I know..... what! /0.0\. It's the first time I've ever seen what looks like an intentional through and through to hit another vehicle.... and Pavlenko's crew does it TWICE.... Maybe just a freak game glitch, but I thought it was awesome :)
Heavy AP rounds will go through light vehicles. I've seen a clip of single sabot round taking out three Strykers in CMBS and have myself lost a Stryker which was hit by a round that was originally fired at a Humvee.
Lesson here is; don't line up your vehicles in neat rows.

Just reinstalled black sea. The lethality of modern day equipment gives no room for error, that's for sure
The t-64 variants can hold there ground fine so don't worry...though since you'll be on the weeker sid it's best to go on the defensive....so beware of your territory...it will be your bastion
Is there anywhere we can see how well the other players did in this battle? Would be fun to compare and know more than that you were in the top 50%

i have been playing a lot of black sea recently... its kinda the same game as world war 2 titles in a way... and in a way its like changing from chess to basketball... .... P.S.... another great video by the way
Great vid - struggled a little to hear the commentary in places but great battle to watch. BS is lethal - I've just reinstalled after leaving it lie for a while but really enjoying it!
Keep moving. If you stay in the one place for more than say 2 mins = death. Also not sure why you were given so many ATGMs in such a small map.
18 of the ATGM were Barrier which are an integral part of the BTRs. I had 3 Cosar, only 1 of which actually fired during the match, and died. The rest weren't used as they sat more in the rear and always seemed to laser the Russian vehicles with APS which then fired smoke. I agree one needs to move, but often movement also triggers being spotted by the enemy, potentially being shot at. The two T64 at my right rear where hull down with visual over the high ground, lasering the T90s a couple of times and George didn't get a spot on them most of the battle. It's a dangerous balance, when to move and when to stay hidden.

IMHO its more than a coincidence. With the CIA & MI6 behind the Maidan coup in 2013-14, I would assume this type of conflict was expected, or at least planned for.
Battlefront has military contracts, so has some insider knowledge, I also believe some of there staff are ex or current Military.
Shock Force 1 was potentially a similar affair before the US decided to use proxy ISIS forces to attack Syria instead?

I always wondered why they were so up to date on modern conflicts in comparison to other games. But obviously America never invaded Syria. Nor were American troops on the ground in Ukraine. Close though... so unless there is direct evidence of this. And not from questionable sources. I'd be careful.

In my opinion, you did the best AAR 's on the WWII combat mission series, looking more like historical documentary of what happened in Italy or Normandy ,than "game".
Curious to see if your tactics will change with modern technology.
