- A Human V Human battle against Usually Hapless from the RUclips channel of the same name and The Few Good Men Community. This is a mirror battle and here I'm commanding the Fallschirmjäger.
This is a battle in Combat Mission Fortress Italy which is one of a series of realistic tactical combat simulations from www.battlefront.... A wide variety of settings are available from world war 2 (Normandy, Market Garden, Sicily, Italy and the Eastern Front) to modern day fictional conflicts in Syria (Shock Force 2) and Ukraine (Black Sea)

Thanks for the game and well played man! Bad luck with the LG40s- its a bit puzzling why a lightweight paratrooper weapon that breaks down into several manpackable parts is stopped dead by some rocks...

yes they are the assistant machine gunners
I don't think I've seen any other faction with an assistant who doesn't have at least a rifle. They gave their all anyway, so won't complain
@@MrSirDouble I think its because the German MGs had swappable barrels to prevent overheating so there was more for the assistant gunner to do and carry. ruclips.net/user/CombatStudiesofWorldWarII has some interesting videos about it.
Hard luck there Double. The terrain does favour the French to an almost hilarious degree, but it being a mirror match, I guess that cuts both ways. That combined with the (rather conterintuitive) immobility of your LG's and you were toast. Well played anyway, I enjoyed the vids from both perspectives.
Glad you enjoyed the video. I allow myself a couple of radical plans a year that usually turn into a useless brain fart, I think this was one of those ;)
It's a shame the armour balance in the force selection was so one sided, as this was just an excercise in futility.
If your guns were mobile you were still at a massive disadvantage, and even with the Marders, it's still one sided.
Please makes sure your next battles are more balanced across all the force types.
A blip in an otherwise fascinating series of battles you upload.
To be fair, the map also favors the French. They're in a much more defensible position. Hapless himself says this ironically is a good map for every faction except Fallschirmjager.
Great stuff. I enjoyed watching this battle from both perspectives. Would love to see you and Hapless go at it again on a larger map that offers more cover and mobility. Thanks for putting this AAR together.

Yeah, got wiped. It happens sometimes, bad preparation on my part being so reliant on one aspect of my force. Live and learn

Thanks for putting out two videos on this mirror match. It's clear the terrain and force selection favor the French, but in that mirror you're able to examine how to play around the limitations of your quick battle setup. I sincerely hope you and Hapless play each other again. You're both brilliant and it's always good to be able to break down a multiplayer battle from both sides.
