Haha! Well, this is an old set from many years ago, it's not a new "retro" release ;)
I got the muted Van Gogh set last year, and I had the same issue with the brush. I finally gave up and super glued it so that it couldn't break down to fit in the palette anymore, but I'm not fussed about not having a travel brush in my palette. I just pack my set of travel brushes as well. But I love the paints! I do wish you'd show the swatching and painting process. It's nice to be able to see how a paint behaves. And I love watching your little kitty cat characters come to life! They're so sweet!
Oh, I absolutely love that cat with the dragon looking down... What a great perspective piece! And I'm living for the muted purple skies... I've been playing with the vintage Schmincke Bijou Box, and added four more vintage inspired colours to play around with a more limited palette... Seems to be a fun trend, and while I am not one for trends, it's been an interesting exercise in colour mixing... And the box design for the Van Gogh is a really serviceable one for a travel palette. I really quite like Van Gogh for a less precious option for paint. Like Daler-Rowney, they do what they say they will do, and that's fantastic for beginners and experienced painters alike.

I had same problem in my modern van gogh set with brush, brush head just randomly dropped into my water bucket 😂
We need to campaign to Royal Talens to make the 12+3 standard. The 12 sets look off to me (or at least add three empty slots). I have the 12+3 because I have this very unexplainable love for Van Gogh paints ... I did customize mine with some tube colors I had and I love using that box so much (and I have lots of Artist Grade colors I use too, but every so often I love the playful nature of my Van Gogh pocket box)

Thank you! This Van Gogh palette is not new, it's an old set that had never been used. As far as I know, they haven't released a "new" retro set :)
