I love the way you do the swatches and the demo and keep everything in there. This makes this sketchbook a useful reference book afterward indeed. I’m always a bit anxious of making this type of thing in bound sketchbooks afraid of making a painting I don’t like, but I’ll try it again at least keeping the swatches neat like you did. It was fun to get tour in your sketchbook! And I agree with you about taped borders. It also protects the spine and other pages from getting unintentional paint creeping. Etchr Perfect sketchbook is something I want to try at some point. I have Etchr everyday waiting in my stash, so maybe after that I try the Perfect one.
This is a masterpiece. I feel lucky to get to watch you guide us through it with all your comments and information about your supplies. When you use the Ferris Wheel Ink do you use a brush? Do you only use watercolor paper when using inks? I really am interested in the Holbein sets and I need to hurry so I don't miss out on the Yuko collaboration. I think you could sell this for a good amount because it is so worthy of being a collectors item. I know that there is so much love and personal energy that goes into making a journal so I get why people don't sell these but still, it is absolutely beautiful! Thank you very much🥰

This demonstrated to me how rich and deep one can achieve with several layers. I am a complete fan of your adventurous cats, especially the minute details of their accessories. That blows me away! Really enjoyed seeing the contents of your sketchbook, and how you use your supplies. Over the last year I found I really like the a5 size to work with but find expensive sketchbooks intimidating. But liked the way you used yours as a kind of archive. The binding looks very practical. But mostly I enjoyed the cats as we have a new addition to our home, a cat with some history…. Really he added us to his life…. He came as a wild untouchable but beautiful thing…… You reminded me of the vintage palette (Schmincke) I cannot have, but I can get the colours I do not have, they will fit alongside another of their sets …. The whole book has such a lot of things that were really enjoyable and memorable too because you talk about your experiments….. and remind me to have fun. I am sure you will take this off the shelf in years to come and it will still interest and inspire you.
The fact that this sketchbook is only mid range for watercolor really shows how expensive watercolor paper can be... What the heck can an even more expensive sketchbook do? Look like? Is it gold lined or something?
I love ❤the page with the kitty at the laptop w his ☕ coffee! It's my life as a fed in the field on this grimey Epstein investigation 😵💫 I would buy a print and/or sticker of the page.😊
