Really great abrasion resistance and though I've never put the Big Game line ruclips.net/user/postUgkxQ4x31pJVpClzhxzNFeILZYTW7Xbs7ZIF (any poundage) through an official test it always seems to break well above rated poundage. This line stretches a very good amount before it breaks and does well in saltwater too. Not the best line for a spinning reel in my opinion, especially if you're planning on using it for lures only due to it having a bit of memory but still a great line whether filling a spool, using as top shot or strictly for leader line. I've bought a bunch of Big game line in the past and plan on continuing to do so in the future.
I'm a real amateur (i fished only 2-3 times, twice as a kid, last time my friend helped since we needed dinner) but I would like to learn and do it more. Thank you for explaining the knots. Knowing how to tie the hook/lure properly is a wonderful beginning (lol)! I will watch more of your videos in the future. My main problem is opportunity. I live in Montréal (QC) and get few chances to go to our beautiful rivers and plentiful lakes. I even have access to a secluded private lake with speckled trout through a family acquaintance but so far cannot find someone who enjoys fishing enough to go to the country or woods, especially since the covid outbreak. The "top 4 knots" is the first fishing video I have seen. I hope you keep making them and if you ever come to the area, I can point out to you to some nice spots. Thanks again, "City girl in need of help"
The snell knot is the most reliable and the strongest knot. I prefer to use the noose knot when I can’t do the snell knot. Always works. Snell knot has never failed me and the noose knot is stronger than the line itself. Good vid all in all.
Your video makes it really easy to understand exactly how to tie your knots! I have always replaced the improved clinch with the Trilene Knot because there is a second contact point of line in the eye of the hook. I am not sure if that really makes it stronger or not but I do have confidence in it. Really well made video, thanks!
I'm not a fisherman I'm a handspinner and I use knot #1 to tighten my wheels fishing tension line to my spring 😁👍.. its the best knot ever ..so glad I found this video however long ago it was and I always come back to watch it when I need to re knot my new line 🙈😉 #forgetfullsally
Hi. I just wanted to say thank you for this video. I recently picked up fishing as a hobby and I've been looking at dozens of videos about knots and how to tie them and I was having trouble until I saw this. Also helped me figure out when to use specific knots. Thanks!
Great video learned a lot. Thanks for the input. I do know the Snell knot extremely well. I worked a summer in a bait shop while I was in high school. That's all I did was tie snells all day
I've done used so many knots over a life time that I don't have the fingers and toes to count that high 😂 now I typically use only a San Diego jam knot. Never slips and super simple to tie. Thanks brother great info.
I had used the improved clinch knot for years and as far as i know it has never been the culprit of a lost fish but i have yanked a few hooks out of some mouths so i will definitely learn to tie the snell knot for swim baits and stuff like that. I dont use braid much but i will probably get some for my casting reels as i hear thats like the best thing to do ever lol i really dont know a whole lot about the technical bits and bobs of fishing, i just know darker water darker baits or bright baits, these little quick tip/how to videos are life savers for people like me lol
Man. This is some. Next level stuff you are teaching. I feel like I'm just an idiot in a boat. I normally jig for walleye 10 ft down. I use a jig head with a minnow chuck and a bright rubber wiggler. I WANT to try the second knit you described
Amazing video. Taking son trout fishing today and used the improved clinch, which is easier and better than the knot I had been using for years. You are the man!
I enjoy parts of your videos when you stop to explain tactics or other fished related items, makes it educational and entertaining vs look what I can do fish catches...
I use a uni knot almost exclusively. Pretty much every hook or bait. I find it's the easiest knot to tie for me. I can do it with my eyes closed, in the dark, in the wind, doesn't matter. Palomar for drop shots. I haven't tied an improved clinch knot in ages.
For sure those are the most important 4 knots any fisherman should know very good vidja Ben!! Very informative for youngsters to know the basics so they don't lose a trophy fish!! Keep em coming buddy
Professional Fisher here. Honestly uni knot is the go to knot. Its actually the proper way to do a Snell knot. When its learned properly super fast to change rigs out. Ask any long liner they tell you the same thing.
Good video...All great knots...I used to the double uni for a long time until I saw some stuff on the Alberto knot...feel like you get same strength but the knot is slimmer and goes thru the guides better. Can't wait to see you upcoming videos with pre-spawn fishing!!!
I use 5 knots. The first three shown here. Your 4th knot I recently switched to the blood knot. My last knot is the Trilete knot for thin line applications when using mono. Other than these the only one that I'll tie is the Loop knot for line to jerk baits.
I like the uni knot on crankbaits just works for me and is supper strong. Just last week i got a lipless hung up on ten pound mono. Working it slow and easy i pulled up two waterlogged 2x6 boards will alot of rope on them. Pretty nice i got my lipless back and gained a couple extra cranks that had been broke off on the same lumber.
Palmore knot is the best knot i believe. I've never have lost a fish due to my knot. the string yes, if you know that happens. i feel confident with that knot.
I’m old. 151 years old, okay, plus or minus100. I’ve been fishing for a long time. There was a long break between 19 and now, things have changed a lot. Once I heard about braided line I had to get infinity so far I love it but, there’s never a buy here. I’ve been using swivels forever. I’ve learned that it’s better not to use a swivel. Okay, so then it’s time to tie the not. I’m not fast at then at all. I watched your 4 knot video. I need to get some string I guess to practice.... i don’t think you talked about the different knots to use with the different line. I heard you say at the end of the video that you reply to all of the comments, well I’ve left quite a few comments and as far as I know, there hasn’t been any reply. I understand, you’ve gotten a lot more popular since you shot that video. I’m proud to be an M’Fer, lol.
Great video! Just starting out fishing with my seven-year-old son. Been going at it about six months now. Totally hooked on it :-). Your videos have been very helpful. Just purchased my first casting rod and reel. If you have any suggestions on videos that I should watch to get started that would be greatly appreciated. Again thanks for your videos keep them coming.
I find that the Palomar can be ued in most cases for big or small fish. Hooks, lures anything. And has never let me down. The double uni is a must to learn. One we use alot her in England is the knotless knot for hooks.Specially carp fishing.
Excellent vid and great descriptions. I've been tying the Clinch knot for everything for years, but I'm gonna start working on the other three now and get those down to change it up a bit and start having better presentations. Thanks for the great content :)
If you make another knot video- include the fact that you can tie a single uni when throwing straight braid since it doesn't slip. Also slow down when explaining the more complex ones. Great video!
I agree improved clinch is a good knot. However I like the double improved clinched knot even better. Only thing you have to do different is pass it through the tackle you are using twice. Then finish tying it off.
Love the double uni knot you just have to be careful if you're using a rod with small guides, as It can get a bit bulky. In which case I'll use the Alberto knot just because it's quick for me to tie on the water and it hasn't given me any issues.
Thanks for the video. I am new to bass fishing and I was shown your videos and now I’m hooked. You do a damn good job and you look like you have a really fun time doing it too. Keep up the good work.
nice review man. good knots. I like them all but I did learn something about the snell knot. I don't know if it is just me.. but I did want to point out that you should take a look at the snell knot vs palomar knot. its crazy to think... but the snell knot, even though the hook does pop up which would makes you think its going into the roof of the fishes mouth, normally rolls and the fish actually feels the bend in the hook and not the hook point itself. sounds crazy the way I'm explaining it. but just thought you might want to check it out. great videos though.
I love this video! Thank you for making it. This was the first video I watched of yours and I've been watching your videos since. I keep coming back to the video to keep teaching myself how to tie these knots.
Best presentation yet. Now, tell us how to do it with 8- or 10-pound mono or fluoro that you can’t see, can’t feel, and wants to jump out of your hand.
Owen Jansen - same here... that's all I use now for braid to leader (after my own backyard testing- just gave me more confidence than the uni to uni)... but as far as ease of instruction, and for making a video- the uni is still a solid connection, and way easier to tie.
All good knots, but while I do use the double uni for making any kind of splice, the single uni can replace the first three with no problems, if you learn its uses. I find it incredibly simple to tie, even in the dark, and this matter for much of my fishing. You can even use it for snell knots. The only time the uni doesn't work for me is when I want to add an extra hook or two to my line, and want to be able to remove them easily. For this, a simple loop knot is perfect. If the single uni comes untied or breaks, it's because you didn't tie it properly. The Palomar is a great knot, but my experience is that it works no better than a properly tied uni. I've also found that I don't always want a drop shot to hang straight up and down. It depends on the plastic I use. With a uni, I can make it hang in whatever direction I want. The double clinch knot has been around forever, and it is a good knot, but it's also incredibly outdated, and the last knot I would now use for a hook or lure.. It is NOT the simplest knot to tie, or even the second simplest, and when I see a knot :break" or come untied, I can bet it's an improved clinch knot. And try tying that sucker in the dark. I can tie a uni, or a Palomar, in half the time, and tie both with my eyes closed. The main problem with any knot is the person tying it. Knots break or slip either because they weren't tied properly, or even more common, because the angler doesn't retie nearly often enough. If you check your knot and the line after every catch, any knot works. Tiny nicks cause breakages. You should snip off a few inches of line and retie after three or four catches at most, and if your fishing on rocks, you should carefully examine the line OFTEN, even if you haven't caught anything. As an experiment, I used a simply anchored overhand "granny" knot for several months, and had no problems at all with slipping or breaking. I did the same thing by hanging weights from line tied with every knot I know. The results told me that some knots are stronger than others, but even the weakest is more than strong enough because I had a lot more line breaks than knots breaks or slips. I even tried a loop knot for lures because I knew it improves the action of some lures, and even worms with some techniques. I had no problems there, either. Anyway, we all do things our own way, but I've found almost nothing a simple uni can't handle as well as any other knot. The Palomar, too, can't handle almost anything, but since I tie snells and splices with a uni, I use it for hooks and lures, as well, and it works wonderfully. I simply see no reason for using four knots. I know a few anglers who use six. Maybe more, but I know they use six. It's pointless. What it really boils down to is use whatever knot you like, check your line and retie often, regardless of the know you use. Until and unless the uni lets me down, which it never has, I'll keep using it for everything. If I ever do change it will be to the Palomar, never, ever the improved clinch. I want a knots I can tie with freezing hands when it's too dark to see my hands. If you can't close your eyes, thread a hook, and tie the knot, even with cold, wet hands, it is, to me, a bad knot. Maybe you can do this with an improved clinch knot, but I can't, and certainly not as easy as the uni or the Palomar.
Thanks, great description!!! Just recommend to use a nail clipper as auxiliary tool , to pull the hook and cut the nylon (just for safety), not pull the hook directly

The first video I seen where the guy is smart enough to demonstrate with heavy string and a eye bolt. Thank you
Great video. My favorite is the Palomar but I needed to see the snell detailed out like that thanks.
South Out Mcknight the Palomar knot is my favorite knot too i use it all the time! Its a great knot and is very easy

I've started double looping at the hook eye on my improved clinch knots and haven't had a single knot break, since.
Thanks for the video,I'm always trying to better myself more fishing knowledge.
The improved clinch and the palomore knot is all I need
simple and clear. for a beginner (my self) this is a great help. tnx
Wow, very precise and instructive way of to tie the knots that I havent quite been do right. Thanks Pal now I know.
Very good instructional video. Thank you
I use a uni knot almost exclusively. Pretty much every hook or bait. I find it's the easiest knot to tie for me. I can do it with my eyes closed, in the dark, in the wind, doesn't matter. Palomar for drop shots. I haven't tied an improved clinch knot in ages.

Excellent. I only knew the Palomar growing up. Gonna add the smell to the Texas rig. Thanks!
This show is the best. You do a great job explaining how to tie knots!
Professional Fisher here. Honestly uni knot is the go to knot. Its actually the proper way to do a Snell knot. When its learned properly super fast to change rigs out. Ask any long liner they tell you the same thing.
The only reason I got in to fishing was because of the knots and the almost free food.
I like it
I use the fishermans knot and that sir is a very strong and EASIEST knot u can learn I use it for EVERYTHING
Thank you for showing on large hardware. Most people just tie their knots and expect you to know what they're doing.
Good video...All great knots...I used to the double uni for a long time until I saw some stuff on the Alberto knot...feel like you get same strength but the knot is slimmer and goes thru the guides better. Can't wait to see you upcoming videos with pre-spawn fishing!!!
That improved clinch knot was great to learn. Felt like my old knot I was wasting of ton of line each time I tied on. Thanks 👊🏼
Thank you very much. Your demonstrations are perfect and easy to follow.
Best video I found to perfect my knots
VICNIC knot is by far my favorite and easy to tie.
I use 5 knots. The first three shown here. Your 4th knot I recently switched to the blood knot. My last knot is the Trilete knot for thin line applications when using mono. Other than these the only one that I'll tie is the Loop knot for line to jerk baits.
Thanks Milliken!! This was definitely some helpful stuff. The drop shot knot kind of blew my mind. Never even thought tying a knot like that!!

I prefer blood knot over double uni. Tags are inside the knot and it flows through rod eyelets easy. Never had a fail.

nice video. very well done showing the how-to's. I use cinch knot on mono and Palomar with braid
Same do those knots all the time!
Great video! Just starting out fishing with my seven-year-old son. Been going at it about six months now. Totally hooked on it :-). Your videos have been very helpful. Thanks Ben. I've watched this like 4 times. I always forget the line to line knot. You the man.
If you make another knot video- include the fact that you can tie a single uni when throwing straight braid since it doesn't slip. Also slow down when explaining the more complex ones. Great video!
Palomar is my knot hands down
Very helpful thanks. I didn’t know which I wanted to go with. The strings use was great thanks.
Great demonstrations in your knots, this is the best knot tying vid I've seen. Thank you!
nice vid I use the Palomar and the uni knot for everything it's just easy for me
Nice video thanks for the info! I really like the demo with the large screw and twine..makes it easier to absorb.
Thank you
Loved it! The double uni is key, but difficult especially when you’re out there and wind is blowing
The palomar is the strongest knot scientifically proven.
A lot of good info. Thanks for taking the tome to make the video. Just started kayak fishing. Hopefully I can use all this info.
Awesome, awesome video!!
Great video and great information.
Great video and a great channel. Keep the instructional videos coming.
I agree improved clinch is a good knot. However I like the double improved clinched knot even better. Only thing you have to do different is pass it through the tackle you are using twice. Then finish tying it off.
Milliken, I've seen a ton of knot tutorials and your tutorial is the best. Your bolt and string presentation is the best. Thank you! Subscribed!
Wow. So similar. I use the trilene knot, palomar, snell and uni.
This is what I need to watch
Love the double uni knot you just have to be careful if you're using a rod with small guides, as It can get a bit bulky. In which case I'll use the Alberto knot just because it's quick for me to tie on the water and it hasn't given me any issues.
Excellent video👍
Thanks for the video. I am new to bass fishing and I was shown your videos and now I’m hooked. You do a damn good job and you look like you have a really fun time doing it too. Keep up the good work.

Those are awesome knots
Great info, thanks for the tips. You should put more of these kind of vids out.
Thank you. I was sure I was doing them correctly but you confirmed it.
nice review man. good knots. I like them all but I did learn something about the snell knot. I don't know if it is just me.. but I did want to point out that you should take a look at the snell knot vs palomar knot. its crazy to think... but the snell knot, even though the hook does pop up which would makes you think its going into the roof of the fishes mouth, normally rolls and the fish actually feels the bend in the hook and not the hook point itself. sounds crazy the way I'm explaining it. but just thought you might want to check it out. great videos though.
you have some really detailed videos man keep it up man I'm really loving it
Good video on knots 🎣👍 my favorite four knots to
Thank you. Very helpful. Nice video
Great video. That helped me with the uni.
great video demo, ,first 2 knots I was able to get, ,last 2 I need practice.
Great video man! Perfect explanation of each knot!
Great video all around
Great video, thanks
I prefer the FG knot... never had any problems
Owen Jansen - same here... that's all I use now for braid to leader (after my own backyard testing- just gave me more confidence than the uni to uni)... but as far as ease of instruction, and for making a video- the uni is still a solid connection, and way easier to tie.
Chris Torres I totally agree bro, best leader knot!!!!!!!
What is the FG knot?
Owen Jansen in
Owen Jansen Jesus died on the cross for our sins that’s why I love him so much
improved clinch was the first fishing knott I ever learned
Always love learning something new, awesome video!
All good knots, but while I do use the double uni for making any kind of splice, the single uni can replace the first three with no problems, if you learn its uses. I find it incredibly simple to tie, even in the dark, and this matter for much of my fishing. You can even use it for snell knots.

I did the same thing by hanging weights from line tied with every knot I know. The results told me that some knots are stronger than others, but even the weakest is more than strong enough because I had a lot more line breaks than knots breaks or slips.

Thanks for the great video!
Great video thank you
Thanks, great description!!! Just recommend to use a nail clipper as auxiliary tool , to pull the hook and cut the nylon (just for safety), not pull the hook directly
Great video, everything explained very well, great info man. Came for the uni but enjoyed all 4.
Spot on mate nice one
alright so i already use the good ones sick lol
The only knot you need for hooks is the Palomar the others will break!
Get well soon
uni knot for everything
slicktrips ruclips.net/video/PCtu7O-gYKM/видео.html
Yes sir
Yup my favorite and simple
Same but I might go to the Clinch knot because it seems easier :/
It failed me on braid multiple times so I just use clinch but on mono I like braid more
I've lost so many bass on the clinch knot, time to try the "improved" version!
Don't bother, learn the Palomar knot it is the strongest of all. Clinch or improved clinch just cannot compare nor can the snell knot
