Never underestimate the power of a stroll in the rain. Nothing like it to ground you and forget about what's stressing you. I'm 68 and still enjoy it while my husband thinks I'm a little bit crazy.
I always go out to have my walking under rain when I have toothache during the night. It's very comforting for my dentist not to wake up him from his sleeping. Of course if it's raining :)))
Absolutely! My husband and I go for a daily run every night. One night it began to drizzle heavily! I will never forget how fantastic I felt running and the water hitting my face and my hair dripping with water. It felt fantastic and my anxiety subsided immediately. ❤❤ 🌧 🏃♀️ 💧
I went to an outdoor Trace Adkins concert near my home last summer and was lucky to be standing at the very front, directly in front of Trace, with my feet straddled over the power cords to the stage lol. Then we got a storm with a good long rain - and I thought oh crap there goes my hair, gonna ruin the concert and probably cause the show to stop. BUT INSTEAD, they kept performing as Trace just stepped around the small showers coming through the roof and said he'd keep going as long as it was safe. I ended up putting away the rain coat and just let it rain on me and it felt sooo good. My hair, which is about 3 feet long, got all fuzzy and curly, my clothes were wet, we cooled off, and the best thing of all, Trace said "Ya all know what my favorite color on a woman is? Wet!!"
Hi all, crane operator here, yes the readings in the crane are not exact (even when calibrated) however they are still relatively accurate. Next time do a test lift with the crane on a known weight, like a container with 1000L of water will weigh pretty close to 1t (excluding the weight of the container and this is a good enough approximation), or if you have a car near the crane that has a manufacturer ls weight available online then weigh it. This will give you a baseline. There may be an inaccuracy in the ballpark of 100kg (I'm guessing because every machine is different) but it's not like you should be getting tonnes in inaccuracy. If cranes are out in their scale reading by ridiculous amounts, like tonnes, then cranes can fall over when lifting a load.
Thank you for your positive comment sir... Actually I'm the crane operator who performed that lift and that's what I meant to say that tha crane is not so accurate but it's only about a kilo gram difference... So.... I'm one of those aerospace guys you don't like however I only mentioned repair schemes and some structural repairs not being allowed in aviation and automotive situations but what would my training and licencing qualify me to say? Also when it comes to lifting aircraft there is a procedure to follow to avoid exactly what happened to you in this instance. Rapido are coming off as half arsed in what they do and while there is some difference between carbon aircraft and boats safety standards must be meet as lives are at stake in both aspects, your boat can hold more people than some light aircraft!

Elena you bring such a light... you are genuinely caring and kind. It's because of you and your kids that I continue to watch. Thank you for being a supreme Mom.
Why they were saying carbon can't be repaired is the Composite is strong by its strands enclosed in epoxy. When you break the strands its like breaking out rebar out of a bridge set in tension. The solution is pack it with epoxy and sister the outside of the break with enough layers to equal or exceed the strength break point. On the other hand you haven't documented the repair for use to make an armchair assessment. But going by what it appears to have been done its superficially repaired but it would likely not be stronger unless you or Rapido calculated how many layers would be necessary to better the failure or cut out the entire section and relayup the form. Unless you got an engineers signoff to certify the repair its hard to have the same confidence in the repair. When(if) it breaks again take it back to Rapido with a lawyer for them to make it right. Loved the video, you guys are still the best, can't wait to see you in Japan.
@@sector7offshore pretty well nailed it, carbon fibre requires both mechanical and chemical (epoxy) bonding. Once the epoxy is dried and you try to add to it you are only adding a mechanical bond from any sanding. The chemical bond is pretty well non existent
They seem like they are purposefully ignoring experts in all the comments. They either are using the break for videos or are going to continue to get scammed by this company.
I agree with these comments, I believe if you don't want to sister the joint, you need to grind the area back, the typical scarf ratios are like 12 to 1 I think, but that might be either side, not sure if you can only get to one side the scarf ratio is larger or not. There are different standards, some large to small glass patches, some the other way, but the most important is the surface prep, keyed and clean! The first layer is mechanical bond, the rest of the wet layers are chemical, if anything wrong with first, it will fail. I often use a brush on small jobs to work epoxy into the old surface to help grab every nook and sanding grove etc as epoxy is thick. Then wet layup etc. Lookup repair on Vestas you can repair a boat back to original at almost same weight. The question is, did it fail from layup issue, so 1 to 1 repair will be fine, or is it under spec'd and more glass layers needed?
@petersgrayson All very true. Suffice it to say its not a situation I'd like to see on my boat and would expect an engineer to inspect and certify so there would be a fall back if it was an initial layup failure. Makes you wonder, though, what else may be failing that's not presently visible to you.
I really dont think we are getting the full story.....I suspect Rapido is going to replace the damage with a whole redesigned structure at some stage. As you say, once those tension strands are broken, they are not repairable, and there doesn't seem to be the area available for adequate strengthening or adding a titanium structure there.
New video from my favorite channel, I'm so glad that the boat is fixed, that you can continue the journey. It's a pleasure to watch you, please continue your travels and keep sharing with us, we love you.

The swim in Subic Bay waters took me back to the 80s when we we spent a year sailing around the Phillipines & Borneo. Through circumstances...you know how that goes... we had a baby macaque on board our wooden 50' sloop (do not recommend). We were anchored in Manila harbour off the Yacht Club. As you do, locals came out for a sunset drink and one a*#s*ole fed Lucy some rum in a bottle cap ( I was down below). Lucy became pretty active with the stimulation and started to leap about the cockpit. She lept for the handrail, missed, and went straight into the septic waters of Manila Bay. Caring Mama Bear lept after her! Who knew monkies could swim and the skipper through a sheet over and Lucy climbed up. I, meanwhile, made my way back to the boat, swimming through the cesspool. Lesson learnt! If you ever need a Grandma/ex-teacher/sailor/adventurer to give Ellie a spell, just message me!!!!

Riley made subtle joke at the start that had me laughing.. I'm sure it was a John Clarke & Brian Dawe reference "well the front of the boat fell off" great episode
Pretty cool that your crew member sailed on Pen Duick VI. I watched Marie`s father sail into a slip in Miami many years ago, calmly calling on the crew to backwind the main and stopping just shy of the cement dock.
The reason the footing of the mast split was due to the bow being too light as I've pointed out a couple times. It's rocking up and down and slamming. Doesn't matter how much you reinforce it, it will continue to occur. You have to add weight up there.
I’m sorry to hear about Riley’s thyroid issues, hopefully he can see a naturopathic specialist. We had one treat our son’s thyroid with great success. Also, your boys are incredibly cute and entertaining, I can’t tell you how much joy they bring. Take care and happy sailing ⛵️ ❤
Riley, I totally understand why you want to keep your boat as light as possible but there does have to be a point where you forfeit a little bit away for the extra bit of comfort. It will make your journey and future so much more enjoyable with a little bit extra Weight for more comfort.
@@karlis-blumsIt's all about safety man. Less weight is less load on rig, steering and crew plus more reserve buoyancy. To some extent speed is safety as it gives you more weather choices and you can go further in any given weather window. Forecasts are generally acceptable good for about 4 days. If your boat can do 1000 miles in 4 days rather than 500, then you have many more passage options

@@gsail6600 🤣🤣 - hahaha, that was good
So much challenges for you all. I wish you all the best. You deserve it 💕
Great to see you guys "under way" again! You all look so much more comfortable/at home on the water sailing! Keep it coming!❤
It’s late summer here in Colorado. I’m listening to the crickets in the field behind our house watching SLV. What a world we live in! Enjoy 🇯🇵
tuned in for the center board repairs drama... hoping for the best!
Wow happy Wednesday, what a surprise! Thank you
Yay!! Sea people is live!! 🎉
I felt that dad moment smile.. 😊
I’ve been following you guys when Riley said we have 70,000 subscribers enough to fill the stadium now. Love you guys I’m so happy for you guys.!!
Hey Riley, thanks for that update about the resin and curing in the tropics. I was pretty worried for you guys, honestly. Very glad to know that it can cure and be stronger than the original. Very glad! High five.
Same for me☺️
Plenty to keep the kids busy helping fix this boat .
Never a dull moment .
It may be faster when it works but only when it works
Ahoy there. When pulling your dinghy up on dock, transom, try putting a wet beach towel down hanging off the dock and your dinghy will slide up easier. Just a thought, give it a try, from an old dinghy racer. Have fun, stay safe! ☀️
WoW WoW WoW That was an awsome video. I am thrilled watching all that you do. The peeps that you guys surround yourselves with are the brightest stars - So much love, joy, kindness and knowledge...Really! It's wonderful how everyone is extended family and all enjoying contributing to the adventures. It's so fun for me getting to see all the challenges and how you problem solve. A big impression from this one for me is how much you Riles have developed a real joy in sharing with us your viewing family. What a long way you've come mate. From a reluctant bit of camera shy content provider to really deeply sharing with us your vast knowledge and processes. It's inspiring to witness you always striving to learn and tackle bigger and bigger challenges all while being a super loving Dad and partner. You both deserve each other 1000 times over and we are so happy for you. Watching you is the most epic Romance adventure story ever. The fact that it's all real makes it almost unbelievable. Thanks for being who you are and sharing it with us. Love you. Blessings.
so glad you're all safe....I'm not a sailor but i love watching your day to day adventures and just seeing another part of the world...take care of your health
It is a joy watching this stop with your family. I left Subic Bay on the last cruise of the Midway aircraft carrier on June 22nd, 1991. One week after Mt. Pinatubo erupted. It still brings tears to my eyes thinking about it. We left Subic for Okinawa. I wish I could be with you guys. I'll just live vicariously through your videos. Cheers.
To see what really goes on, and how much time spent working, whilst still dockside is unbelievable. Having a support team consisting of friends is amazing. Now it's time to sail. Enjoy, you deserve it!!
It’s a huge thing mate, only people that have done it know.
@SailingLaVagabonde i believe it...post deployment shipyard in the Navy was the WORST. Wouldn't have been so bad I knew I could cruise for pleasure afterwards haha
I’m struggling to relate to any of your lifestyle now guys, it’s amazing that your doing the things you do but , I’m not sure what I’m getting at but it’s difficult to watch this now. And I’ve been following you guys for so many years. Thanks for always sharing so much.
The simultaneous No from the boys was awesome. I'm glad the repair work went as smooth as such things go. Should have shown the fiber glass repair work for those engineers. Have a safe week, and find good winds and fair weather.
I swear getting ready to embark on a huge trip as a family on land ( with many wheels and kids) or sea ( with kids and crew ) is a feat in itself!
People who have permanent homes and or vacation homes, don't understand the amount of planning, mapping of routes, visas needed, provisioning, health and safety , kids entertainment or learning needs to be accounted for)
Bring on Japan! Can't wait!🎉❤
Glad Rapido was transparent with the problems and repairs. Interesting read.
Wild to think I have been watching your videos since I was 16 years old…I’m 26 now! Been here for the long haul, and genuinely grateful to witness! You’ve allowed me to learn SO much about sailing and the beauty of different areas, thank you!! One day I will sail a boat too
It's alright Riley, sometimes there's a lot to complain about and we know you won't make it a habit! I've delt with thyroid issues too, it really ZAPS your energy in a unique way, but luckily most treatments are as simple as a daily pill that puts you right back to normal :)
I have such a deep attachment to this family. Have a fantastic and safe journey! We adore you!
good luck on the way to japan!! safe travels 💕
I’m so so exited you’ve set off to Japan! And the boys are so much fun to watch grow and explore the world! Their responses & reactions are genius!❤
Oh my goodness! Elaina, I felt your pain of having to take everything off the boat! But loved how resilient you are! Still…what a job!
Riley catching Lenny flying off the treadmill on film was hysterical😂😂😂..... Just glad he wasn't hurt! 🤗💞
You know whats most impressive is, you have over 1000 comments and you are still reading and actually replying to them. Very genuine. I have followed your channel since the early beginning. Love you guys.
The fact that there is significant crack in a practically new boat puts in to question the quality and structural engineering of Rapido Boats. A crack in the dingy too? OMG
She put the whole family in danger just so she could flex zero emissions on people.. Greta did the same stuff, complaining about material things, waste, pollution.. How many homes and cars does she own now? Also shes rich.. Funny how that works huh? Leftist's are wacky! 🙈
Riley should take the kids and run fast!
I love your videos they take me away from the mundane things in life. I have followed your adventures and absolutely love them and look forward to you navigating to Japan. Sending water blessings for a calm voyage, peace and love to you all.
I Looooove Ellie!!! Happy Birthday!!!!!
It is so nice to see you all enjoying your sailing life. I hope all health issues are sorted soon. Just a suggestion, perhaps a video on your personal safety measures, on deck, when it’s necessary etc. Do you have drills? I know you have lots of safety equipment like extra radios and weather info etc. I don’t sail, but it might be a nice reminder for those that do. Just a suggestion, I do enjoy being on your voyages. 🇨🇦
To say every scratch is ultimately worthwhile was one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard in my life. Great priorities Riley!
Sooooo happy you guys got the boat fixed and are underway! Enjoy!
There's a typhoon brewing near Hong Kong I hope you are all safe.
And it's not effecting your trip.
You all have been such an inspiration. We start our boat refit here in about 6 months and will be living on the water with our kiddos as well. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. 💜
You’ve inspired me never too sail
LOL
🤣 I’m surprised we don’t have that effect more often.
@@SailingLaVagabonde Living vicariously through you all is the best. A sailing friend of mine once told me," if you want to know what sailing is like, put on foul weather gear, stand in the shower and tear up $100.00 bills."
BOAT stands up “Busting. Out. Another. Thousand.” I was once told. 😂 💵
@@SailingLaVagabondehahah!
Wow! Elayna's a very patient person!
So stressfull though to think about the centre splitting around the mast especially after the tragic events near Italy in the last week.
Hope you guys know how fun you bring to people that will never do what you do. Your children are amazing and love the way you let them grow without being helicopter parents!!! Keep going!
Elli = Gorgeous, and is ALLWAYS camera ready!
Great ep, love the activity and day to day activities on what it’s like to live in a marine environment. Jai was such a great addition to your journey, he’s a very practical man, excellent skills. Happy sailing ⛵️ ❤❤❤
Riley made subtle joke at the start that had me laughing.. I'm sure it was a John Clarke & Brian Dawe reference "well the front of the boat fell off" great episode
So grateful for this window of your life/family/friends/crew! Great video as per usual. Peace and Love ☮🥰
Rare chance to watch this literally seconds after upload
You are great people to live vicariously through I enjoy every week
Pretty cool that your crew member sailed on Pen Duick VI. I watched Marie`s father sail into a slip in Miami many years ago, calmly calling on the crew to backwind the main and stopping just shy of the cement dock.
Agree! But not so cool they said Pen Duick won OGR. They didnt. Maiden won.
@@BoatBanshee Maiden did an amazing job with so many new sailors. I used to skipper Evrika way back when and enjoyed following the race.
So sorry that Riley is feeling poorly. You both have so much to do there doesn’t seem to be time for anyone to be sick. Love watching your journey.
Empty weight is great for the designer and engineers but as all pilots will tell you All up Weight is far more relavent to performance predicability.
Your boys are so helpful and positive
The reason the footing of the mast split was due to the bow being too light as I've pointed out a couple times. It's rocking up and down and slamming. Doesn't matter how much you reinforce it, it will continue to occur. You have to add weight up there.
What another incredible adventure to begin all our best fair wins following seas❤
I hope you have Rapido Care with extended warranty. 😀
Fair Winds and Following Seas... Blessings...
The proud dad moment was the cutest thing ever 😭😍 him using those words with his cute little voice is just too cute GO LENNY🫶🏻
Riley, I totally understand why you want to keep your boat as light as possible but there does have to be a point where you forfeit a little bit away for the extra bit of comfort. It will make your journey and future so much more enjoyable with a little bit extra Weight for more comfort.
it's all about the speed, man! 😂
I agree every home needs a washing machine :)
You can't race a boat with a small family aboard no matter what Reilly thinks.
Elayna ... On the bright side no there us no bright side 😂
Bon voyage à vous tous ! Hâte de découvrir le Japon avec vous !!
Ditch the crane and get a Mathematician. How much water does the boat displace?
I cannot say it enough how much happiness I feel through you guys 🫶🏻
