Can't even lie, I've had leader knots break or slip and lose fish many times. But I paused this video and went out got some big game line and Braid to practice. 2nd try & I feel like I could pull a truck with this guy! thanks for the informative content man.
Great video.. i needed a knot to tie on a leader now I have one.. just as you said I watched you do it twice and now I can tie it..
It's a great knot!
@@MillikenFishing love the instructional videos.. That's what separates you from every other RUclips fisherman you always take time to explain what it is you are doing and WHY you are doing it! The WHY is the most important part.
Thanks for the video 👍👍. I prefer the Alberto knot to join my leader to my main line. Fish On!!
Thanks for the great info. Drop shot knot tip's are game changer
Some I have never used, its going to help alot in some of my fishing. Thank you
This is one of the best and clearest videos for knots I've seen thank you
Thanks for the update. I was using you old video knots til today
That's badass! Try these...they've become my favorites
I love these videos. It slows down and shows important facts that we need to fishing. Weather it's knots, bait color to water color, what bait to use in what temperature or how to properly use what bait. It really brings you back to the fundamentals of fishing. I wish you did more informational videos like this one. Great job Ben
Really like the Alberto knot can't wait to try it. Thanks Ben for the great information.👍
Tying better knots is one thing I’m planning to work on this year. Thanks for the tips.
i just did my own knot video and didnt even think of using an eye bolt for a larger demonstration that would make things so much better thanks for the idea for the next time i redo that how to
Bro, I have been waiting for someone to easily explain to me what the best knot for braid to floro leader, also that drop shot knot as well.. thank you, excellent video.
Hey Ben Good Morning! I was just talking to my daughter about your older video on knots and the funny thing is was going to share it with her this morning lol and here you are with a new one... I learned all about knots from you a few years back and I have to agree with Cole I use the palomar knot the most. Thank you for the tips and have a great day!
That is awesome!
First time ever tying any leader knot, 3rd try with 10# braid and 8# floro got it dam near perfect. Easy knot
I thought I first learned this on your channel years ago when you came to oregon. Love that knot
Definitely gonna use the Alberto knot from now on. SO STREAMLINED
Thank you, this is very helpful in my renewed hobby.
Palomar knot cuts into itself too!!! I started tying the double uni knot. Double over your line like you showed simple uni and when you cinch it down you have to pull the main line and the tag end and give er that extra pull at the hook pull the tag end and she'll cinch down tight. I use it for braid mostly and leave your tag a little longer so you don't throw your bait off on a backlash. Simple uni for fluoro has been the best for me.
Your dead on with the Big Alberta it’s the best, great video
And lastly, thanks for showing the Alberto knot, I've been using the double uni because it's the only one my pea brain can seem to figure out but I'm definitely going to try yours!👊
Nice to hear someone else likes the clinch knot!
Thank you for the tutorial! You did it simply and clearly. You are a teacher like your father 👍👍
Love the crazy Alberto knot. Trying it out for the first time next week for surf fishing.
Been tying the crazy Alberto for a few years now. Seriously a game changer. I love the FG knot. But as you stated. Harder to tie. And more time consuming. I retie my leader at least once per trip out. This crazy Alberto is a legit knot. Casts through all my guides on all my spinning gear excellent. Even micro guides don’t mind it. I usually tie my 25 lb braid to 6-8 lb leader. I have never had one that was properly tied slip. Ever. Not a single one.
Using most of these. Thanks bunches
Hey, thanks!!! I'm going to try that double clinch knot.
I use the palomer knot a lot but wanting to learn more thank you for the video
Good video... learned a new knot... thanks...
Best knot tying video I’ve seen.
Very informative information sir! Thanks Ben!!
Honestly the best fishing youtuber on the planet thanks for the tips and showing us some knots to land mfer size bass 🤙🏻Mfer of the day !!!!
I started using the double clinch for braid this year especially with frogs. I thought it was the same one you were using! Your use of the polamar knot on a dropshot helped me alot, wasnt sure what to use. Thanks!
Needed a brush up on knots... thanks dude
Awesome video and great camera work keep up the good videos 🔥 🔥 🔥 🐟 🐟 🐟
Thanks for the great knots
Apperciate showing us how to properly tie knots bc I lost a big bass today and I was like I need to learn how to properly tie knots to fish
And we are going to make some happy knots. Great vid. Thanks!
Your tip videos and tournament videos were the reason I have been a part of your channel since the very beginning. Keep up the great work 👍
Amazing Tom!
Great video for beginner fisherman 👍
Agreed!
I’m diggin the how to/tip videos.
Definitely helpful. I have been trying to figure out other very strong knots
Not only does this man rip lips and boat flip but he also learns you some stuff, nice vid man.
Thanks for the info Ben.
Youbetttt
nice i love your how to vids.thank you Ben.
Great education this morning. I am definitely going to try that Alberto knot!!
thank you!! finally somebody with some logic, what difference does it make if you leave a little extra tag end of line, what the fish are going to notice your half centimeter of tag end and somehow magically they don't see the 50 feet of mainline attached to the lure in the water. i don't leave 2 inches hanging off, but i do leave a little wiggle room, like you say in case the knot snugs down a little more it doesn't pull through.
Definitely needed the dropshot tutorial, just getting in to that technique, and genius pulling the knot back through the eye so it sits upright like that.
THANK YOU! This is solid info for all fisher peeps!
a tip on how to start the double clinch knot that's easier with smaller eyelets or when your fingers are freezing, instead of passing the loop through just pass the line through quite a ways double back and go back through. so you end up with a loop through the eyelet but don't have to try and pinch or manipulate the line.
I'm fishing more thanks to you. And enjoying your videos.
Nice content Ben! Your old video on knots gave me a new knot I had never used before. Keeper up!
This was helpful. Now I just need to know how to pick my rod, reel and line. And how to set it up.
Today is my birthday 🥳 any I enjoy watching your tips going catfishing and bass fishing later today! Plus my first 6th Sense box just got here in time to use later!
This video was super helpful, def feeling a lot more confident in my approach when I’m out fishing. Thanks Ben!!
I've never thought of the snail that way hitting the roof of the mouth before it gets set you have a very good point I always use it when I'm catfishing like with live bait or cut bait but I do use an offset hook or off set it myself and I'm sure that helps I've heard the snail called the trigger effect I know probably probably almost all knot's and usually use the fg I've used the Alberto before been awhile next time I have to retie and I'm out in the wind I'll use it anyway very educational video I figured I'd watch
Love the videos. Keep em coming.
I've been using the double uni knot and I don't really like it so I'm definitely going to give that crazy Alberto knot a chance! Thanks
Thanks for the advice, no more using only one not.
Awesome video! Excellent and simple explanation of knots! Thank you!!
I love this video! I never had the proper training or anything on knots and some other stuff, would love more videos like this!
Love the hoodie and love the dedication. Very inspired to make better videos and higher quality content when watching your videos. Keep being you!
Thanks a ton man!
Thanks for the tips!
Thanks. Going to save this video
I’ve been messing up your lure knot for about 6 months now and it has been working most of the time. I have been taking the double line once I go back through the base by the hook eye and bringing it back threw the big loop like a fisherman’s knot. I will definitely be trying the brad to leader knot.
Instantly retied my fluoro-to-braid with the crazy Alberto.
Yaaaa i know my knots but great video my dude 🤙
I suck at knot tying. That's why I'm a spinster. I should give that double clinch knot a try.
I suck at knots too, I have big clumsy hands. Try the palomar and the Alberto, pretty much all you need and I find them the easiest.
Going to save this video Thanks
This has been just the tip. Great info Ben.
Glad it was helpful!
If you can get the loop of a doubled line through the hook eye you can just put the tag end of the line through in one direct then back through in the opposite direction, leaving a loop to tie the palomar. Easier than jamming a double line through
I have been wetting my line this year with a new invention to keep things out of my mouth.
Like it
Thanks for the knowledge it seems that is my most difficult because of stiff fingers
Drop knot is really all i use. On a 12lbs line i was able to bring in a 40lbs gar
This video was very helpful. Thanks man!
Glad to hear it!
I am so blind lol. I have been watching videos for limited vision knot tying LOL..Thanks for the inf.
You should do a short video on the double uni knot..congrats on the toledo bend victory
Can I just say I appreciate you not involving politics in your videos? Pretty sure I know where you stand but I appreciate you not alienating those that don't agree with you. Kudos.
2024 TRUUUUMP!!
thank you for sharing.
Great tips
Great vid love tge how to stuff keep it up man abd get ready for that think ice man
Getting ready to go slaunch hunting this morning! Thanks for the tips! Try to find a way to incorporate em!
Drop shot rig tip...eyes OPENED!
Good video man
Thanks dude
Great tips bro i will love to learn more from u, make some fliping and trick too 😊👊
I have a little demonstration anyone thinking they have a knot problem.
Take a bass rod tie a bag of flour to the line. Now using your normal fish fighting technique. Pick the bag of flour up off the floor. 😮😮😮😮😮 Amazing!!!
Learn anything?
Yes knots matter, but so does fresh line, nicks in your line, guide quality.
I dont buy expensive rods. I learned to replace my tip tops with FUJI SIC guides as the tip top puts the most friction of all guides.
Now , last tip. Point your rod at the fish when they make a hard run. Don't believe me? Test this, pull line at nine or ten o'clock then straight out the end of your guides. Best of luck.
Need to run a series of just tips called "just the tip" fishing tips with Ben Milliken. I can hear it now in an intro or signing off.. This has been just the tip with milliken fishing. Have a good one!... epic
That was shown how to very well sir thank you
Thank you!
Thank you😇
Loved this . Thx
Thank you sir.
i also switched for the improved clinch to the double clinch. easy switch but seems to be much stronger. had too many knots cut through themselves or get cut by the those stupid keychain style eyelets on baits. just makes the point of contact with the lure or hook thicker and more durable.
Thanks for this,,,
Thanks for watching Manuel!
@@MillikenFishing awesome video, thanks for that it’s really gonna help
Hey Cole I’m first. Love all the videos. Thank you Ben! 🎣❤️
Youbetttt
When tying the Alberto knot its easier if you put your finger thru the first loop and use the crease of your finger to hold it in place while you wrap the braid.
Milli can you make a video on how the best way to work or jig Texas rigs and swim jigs and where to they work best? I've never got a bite on either.
The double clinch or "shark knot" is my go to as well. Its simple and almost unbreakable. You dont need to pull it tight with the main line and tag, you can cinch it down with your fingers and it actually gets tighter throughout the day. Money knot.
Well said...glad you agree!
Hay who where the winners from 4 videos ago when you caught the fish under the house you said check back in 3 days and we'll I watch all the videos eny ways lol to help improve my bass game
That Alberto Knot is Fricking cool.
I can see how smaller then the Double Uni, it's 1/2 as big.
The Double Clinch not bad either, saves a step from the Advanced Clinch.
👍👍
The snell knot on a flipping hook is personal preference
The dislikes are the number of accounts Cole has. I'll have to try the double clinch. The clinch and improved clinch are what I learned growing up. The line breaks before the knot gives.
