    “The tire, relatively speaking, is pretty small.” We’ve definitely come a long ways. It wasn’t that long ago that you had to do some pretty significant trimming to get a 33 to fit on a midsize truck, now we have a 35 inch option. This is probably the coolest thing about the AEV and Colorado/Canyon in my opinion. Hopefully GM can iron out the electronics!

    the AEV looks like an amazing truck. My only issue just from watching this video is the vertical mounted spare in the rear. Wish it was side mounted instead of against the cab. Looks like it blocks your rear vision. According to GMC website, the Canyon AT4X AEV is roughly 66,600 depending on options...

    It's now 2025, and I configured the AT4X with AEV package on GMC's site. MSRP is $72k. 17 mpg for city and hwy.

    I never understand how in aftermarket upgrades from the Manf they charge near full price for it. You didn't get to keep the extra shocks, springs, bumpers, wheels and tires, they did. So the price upgrade for a set of wheels and tires should be the difference, instead it is massive marked up.

    Ask them about the AT4X glitches. So far my cameras work intermittently same with the blind spot monitoring. Cluster changes to KM/H then back to MPH on its own. Adaptive cruise brakes with nothing in front of it. Really love the truck but the constant electrical issues are making that hard to do

    • @Badselfeater
      @Badselfeater Год назад +4

      Same here, weird small shit going wrong that isn't dangerous but annoying. The cameras randomly not working is usually bc of the yellow cables that run into the doors coming loose. They can do that for me if I go somewhere thats really bumpy. Had the cluster shift to kph once too and I still have no idea why it did that, really weird. Its great and the lockers make it unbeatable but GM qc and weird shit make it annoying at times. Still love my edition 1 tho, not like its GM who's only having qc problems this year.

    Perhaps truck companies should focus on one or two models of purpose built midsized trucks for offroading and make full sized and work trucks cheaper for the rest of us. I'm sorry but an 60, 70, 80, 90 thousand dollar pickup trucks is bad for our wallets and economy.

      @@robertopics I'm not saying that consumers bear no responsibility in this, on the contrary. But " conspicuous consumption" is the driving force behind America Capitalism. Without the constant psychological pressure to consume, spending naturally slows and fiscal responsibility begins to set in. The concept of actual worth begins to take prevalence and the willingness to part with hard earned dollars wanes. 90 percent of Truck buyers have far more "truck" than they need or use. Even in companies that use fleets of pickups, most of their needs could be better served with smaller, cheaper vehicles. Unfortunately, the prevailing idea that bigger is better is so engrained in our collective psychology that even the military can't escape it and constantly overspends on systems that are overblown and overpriced. It like a producer actually needing a ballerina and instead casting Batista and Michael Jai White.

    IM torn on which truck to get. Currently have23 AT4 Canyon and wish I had bought the higher trim. Love the Edition 1 trim on the x, but when you already at 65 why would you pass on 70 for AEV. My problem is the spare tire located now in the already small bed. Its placement prevents my tonneau cover with t slots to not be installed. That eliminates my truck CVT tent and rack system. If I remove the tire and tire mount and lay the tire in the bed, basically the 35 tire will take up 90% of the bed. No good for other needed camping equipment. Any thoughts of a work around? I know, first world problems.

For 1/3rd or 1/4th the price of that. It's capable sure... for a street truck. They need to make a successor to the Hummer H3 based on that platform... to compete with Bronco. To get the TRD PRO on the same level as the AT4X, you’re dropping 3000 on shocks, 1000 on UCAs, 1000 on a front locker, 1500 on tires , 1000 on leafs and 1000 on sliders. So now you’re 60g in a Tacoma if you do the work yourself that’s uncomfortable, makes way less power and will get 15mpg.
