As the characters realize this, and are soon to return to the main timeline, Bayonetta's father asks his daughter to refer to him as such, as their family backstory was tragic and he didn't get many chances to love his wife and kid, much less see her grow up safe. And being an old witch from Europe of hundreds of years ago, Bayonetta learned to refer to her parents as "mummy" and "daddy" when she was a child, and the moment is simply a somber one as she grants her heroic father's last request.
