I'm an older white woman that has been fascinated with Black hair. My wonderful kindergarten teacher (1971) had a gorgeous afro. Mrs. King even allowed me to touch the puffiness! Lol She thought it was funny a little white girl loved her dark skin (she looked good wearing any color, unlike me) and hair. I've never understood why natural hair, braids, or locks get such dislike / hate. To me, it's just a hair style.

@Laylas_Braceletzz No, you misread what she wrote…….I would be more concerned with how it sounds like she is fetishizing Afrocentric features…….which is highly problematic…….If not, if she is just a WW admiring from afar then I have no qualms about it…… But the problem is most WW that talk like this can not just leave it at admiring, they cosplay and appropriate…… these are the WW walking around in box braids, faux locs, and other Afrocentric cultural hairstyles, oh and most recently the Asians walking around with permed Afros SMH……. The admiration can be a slippery slope

I wanna know something: is anyone mindful of their styles with really windy weather? I have fine hair with volume and when it’s in a fro with windy weather, it’s hard to keep it cute. The wind like changes my fro so bad.

About length and breakage: please keep in mind that regardless of ethnicity or hair type, every human’s hair is genetically programmed to grow hair to a certain length (unique to them) and then it essentially goes dormant.
For some people, this means their hair can grow to hit the ground; for others it will not grow past their shoulders. One of the best ways to tell if you have reached your peak length is to measure your average growth per month (hair does grow more during certain seasons / times of life) and take notice when the growth slows to a near stop.
Full disclosure: I have a fraternal twin sister. As babies, we could easily be identified because my sister’s hair never grew past her chin. Mine would be about 4 inches longer than my sister’s until at least age 5.
Once we hit puberty, my max length would be about 2 inches past my bra line in back. Hers would touch her shoulders and that was it.
That being said, my sister’s hair was always a beautifully soft and fine texture no matter the length. You don’t have to have long hair to be beautiful!

As a white woman, I don't understand much about natural textured hair, but your afro is amazing; it overwhelms and hides your beautiful face though. As a loose curly hair girl, maintaining curly or wavy hair is a LOT of effort like products etc and sometimes they can get expensive and its hard maintaining curly hair is super tiring

Honestly I dont see it as easier since the frizz can get your hair messed up easily. I personally like braids or other methods more but some black women like silk presses so they can just wake up and leave the house as soon as they wake up. Its really depends on the person.
