I've seen a few non-Brits react to the Two Ronnies recently. Nice to see more classic British comedy gaining traction across the pond that isn't Monty Python. Incidentally, many Pythons did write for the Two Ronnies, and some even appeared in the show.
Ronnie Barker was a genius and one of, if not the best comedy wordsmiths ever. I cant think of anyone that comes close to what he did. .... great reaction Megan, thanks ... I hadn't seen either of them.
He certainly was a genius! Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it :)
Harry Hill did a hilarious clip where sound-effects made it seem that a naturalist was talking about *king penguins.
The trick of bleeping out innocent words goes back at least to "I'm sorry, I'll read that again", a radio show of the 1960's. They did a number of famous people, perhaps the best being Julie Andrews and her famous song "I could have BLEEPED all night".
aha amazing! So much of what we know of television today goes back to radio. I love it! 😆
@@MeganRuth In that case, I have managed to track down the "Julie Andrews Dirty Song Book" on RUclips. ruclips.net/video/YMl9Wf9r_MA/видео.html
To be fair 'danced' and 'dancing' is so often used in songs as a euphemism for... naughty things its pretty much synonymous.
@@MeganRuth It was either Alas Smith and Jones or Not the Nine O'clock News that did a spoof of The Two Ronnies where they replaced the euphemisms with the actual swear words. Their shows have largely been forgotten while The Two Ronnies lives on.
Alternative comedy they called it while others called it an alternative to comedy.
If someone repeats you in a pub, you simply say 'do you want a pint' or 'the drinks are on me all night'
Wow. After decades of waiting I finally come across someone who used that phrase from the Chinese names story. Wonderful.
Hilarious Megan, Ronnie Barker was a genius, and his wordplay at the end was nearly as good as yours !😂❤
this is so hilarious.i love the two ronnies.anyway enjoy your evening and sleep well.
😊😊😊😊😊😊 ❤.
i am using my swear jar as a retirement supplement.
If you haven't already done it their Argentian racing pidgeon sketch is a funny one.
Glad you are enjoying some classic British comedy. How are you finding the locals living in London?
I love living in London! Obviously London isn't known for it's friendliness but I find the locals quite pleasant nonetheless :)
Another good one Megan. Gerald Wiley strikes again, I'd wager. Cheers.
indeed! Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it :)
I hope you do the show Alas Smith and Jones
DO it.
Little Ronnie lived near me and he was *little.*
He was a bit sensitive about his height.
Very clever and funny guy.
aw aha! That's a shame. He was certainly very funny!

Only if you like the worst kind of vulgar, toilet humour
