Rent and mortgage is very expensive in Canada, it’s not like that in the UK apart from London even London is not that bad - it depends on where in London and what you’re going for. Like I always say, UK gives you options you just need to know you fall into Wages in the UK is higher than in Canada. Please check your facts minimum wage in Canada just rose to $16+ recently. The wages are too poor in Canada and the cost of living is too high. The US gives you the best living wages however there’s a lot of overhead like health insurance, childcare, Finding good private schools you can afford for the kids. At the end of the day you’ll be even if not poorer than your UK or Canadian counterparts. As a well traveled person, I find living and surviving in the UK easier than both the US and Canada. Canada tried so hard to copy the UK system but they still have huge gaps. The best thing about Canada is the Permanent Residency which anyone can get. While in the UK your fate may be dependent on so many factors to get your ILR but UK is easier to survive and thrive compared to Canada…
But like u rightly said it's easier to get a PR in Canada which for me it is very important,to get ILR in UK now is becoming near impossible with them changing policies like changing clothes...
Having been born in the Uk and spent 33 years there before moving to Canada. Been here 22 years and never had an issue. Weather is fine, if you don't research where you are going then thats your problem. Yes the added tax is annoying but thats because each province has different sales tax.
In the UK you also spend half of your income for rent, especially if you have a job that pays minimum wage. In Canada you pay probably the same but for more spacious flat, so it’s definitely better
