    That Oxo gag is marvellous!

3:44 Oxo is a stockcube of gravy: you put it in your stew to add taste. It’s one of our oldest brands still going (circa 1840).
Here, however, the joke is it’s a cross-your-heart bra, in the the X on Oxo is the cross and the O’s are, um…

    Two I'd recommend are:
    - 'Your nuts my lord'
    - The Morris Dancing sketch - not the actual dancing but the song that follows!

Ronnie Barker. The bigger of the two wrote most of the word play sketches for the two ronnies. He wrote them.and submitted them to the BBC under the pen name Gerald Wiley. He did this because he didn't want them accepting the sketches because of who he was. He wanted them accepted on the Merritt of the comedy. Nobody knew this, not even Ronnie Corbett, until after he passed away.

The Two Ronnies were famous for their use of word play. Ronnie Barker (the bigger of the two) used to write a lot of the sketches under false names so they would get in on merit without anyone knowing they were from him. You can also try some of his stuff away from The Two Ronnies, best ones being Open All Hours and Porridge. Open All Hours he played a tight-fisted shopkeeper with David Jason, who was in Only Fools and Horses. Porridge is set in prison and he plays one of the convicts and stars Richard Beckinsale, father of Kate Beckinsale the Hollywood Actress. Richard died of a heart attack at the very young age of 31.

The Two Ronnies did many popular and funny sketches, as I’m sure you’ve been told before. This may have been suggested to you before, but I recommend the Swedish restaurant sketch.

    Weird Phones?
Sweety, phones were ALL ducatic dialing, where the length of the dial tone (the digit) put together got the number. Press button dialing was developed late 80s.

Mike Myers Canadian born to British parents said he's been fed British comedy when he was younger. I would imagine the Two Ronnies was fed to him as well.

My favourite is the phantom raspberry blower of old London town. It's a small mini series that's so silly. There's so much great British comedy to choose from.

The Two Ronnie's were great with those wordplay sketches. There's another similar one to this by Fry & Laurie, with a drunken Hugh complaining about his wife and Steven as a barman, interrupting to offer snacks.

Not all of the jokes would be apparent to non British audiences..
References to local products and practices..however..the comedy is universal...and they were a great double act as well as individual entertainers....Ronnie barker wrote a lot of the material himself under the pseudonym Gerald Wiley

Oh goodness. I know this sketch so well. In fact I've wanted to re-nact it with an accomplice somewhere busy in public using our cell phones. Somewhere like a crowded London tube, a Doctor's waiting area or wherever. Wearing all my Canadiana naturally. I grew up amongst The Two Ronnie's here in the UK btw.

Hello! Thanks for your comment. I didn’t start this channel as a reaction channel, but these are the videos that kept getting views so these are the videos I make. Reaction channels are very popular these days. Personally, I don’t understand it either, but it’s what my audience likes to watch, and I like making them happy. Maybe think next time you make a comment. Cheers!
