Now you know why the Two Ronnies are so beloved in the UK and worldwide, they were great.

Ronnie Barker was a writing genius, he wrote pretty much every sketch, gotta try soaking nuts and berries for the squirrels and birds, I do love a good giggle.
Loving the Two Ronnies but the Squirrel intro had me in stitches too 🤣
Barman actor deserved an Oscar for keeping a straight face
The two Ronnies were wonderful - clever wordplay, wonderful acting and singing . Hilarious.
That poor squirrel. I remember my grandpa in his final days still having two cows to milk twice daily by hand. They resided by day in the meadow behind the barn, which doubled as an orchard for mostly apples. Long story short, both cows would eat their fill on fallen apples, which turned into cider in their many stomachs. Too bad cartoons aren't true and the milk stayed alcohol free, but it was fun to watch.

Ronnie barker was so unsure of his talents he used to send all his sketches in the mail to the writing team under a different name because he thought they would just ok all his stuff because of who he was. Hell of a talent he was.
I thought he did it to make it easier for the producers to reject any poor offering of his.
I thought he used pseudonyms to send out his more serious writings, also sometimes as an obvious joke in itself.
Either way, Ronnie was a master of wordplay.
This chap liked to go out and drink a lot. He was out with his friend, drank too much and was ill all down the front of his jacket.
He told his friend that he can't go home to the wife because she had told him that if he got into a state that he should not come home and book into a hotel somewhere.
His friend told him, to blow that, asked him for a 20 pound note, stuck it into his inside pocket and told his friend to say to his wife that someone had got very drunk in the bar and was ill all over the front of his jacket and gave him the twenty pound note for the dry cleaning.
So thats what he did. She wasn't very happy about this but accepted his story. When she reached inside his jacket pocket she informed him there were two twenty pound notes in his pocket?
Ah he said, the other one was from the guy that shat in my trousers!

Ronnie Barker was a master wordsmith...his use of malapropisms..rapid alliteration..a joy to hear and watch.. together with Ronnie C...they were pure entertainment personified
Watched this with a huge smile, 2 Ronnies were past masters at this sort of wordplay comedy, Beloved legends in the UK (and beyond) Both gone now but never forgotten😂❤
My favourite bit is when he says "I do exactly what I'm knowing..."😅😅😅

In the 70s, 4 volumes of Two Ronnies BBC LPs were released in Canada. This was on "The Two Ronnies Vol. 2: Me And Him" (titled "Cheers" on the album).
(It's one of my all-time faves, and why I sent it to you. Glad you both enjoyed it!!!!)

If you enjoyed this you must look for "Dinner for One with Freddie Frinton and May Warden" it is an old black and white sketch released in 1963. It is an absolute classic and proof that comedy, when well done, is timeless.

@@bradlucy thanks, you need to give it a few episodes though, then you will be hooked, the first one is very dry, it looks like it’s old men… but it’s comedians and actors who are actually in their 40’s-50’s dressed up like men in their 70’s-80’s
