Nobody writes transitions like Strummer. Genre and beat jumping like the Maestro he was. RIP, Joe. We all miss you.
I miss so much.... I was five months pregnant with my son when Joe died - my boys middle name is Strummer x
quality x
Is his first name JOE??
no! LOL his first name is Harrison, and his middle names are Van and Strummer ... I'll let you pick the bones out of the other influences in there!
Van Morrison, Van Halen, Van Beethoven? LoL.
Respect
The world will never be the same without Joe Strummer. One of the greatest ever.. Period.
Wrong...exclamation point
The world will never be the same because of Joe Strummer...
J.B. Beverley yes sad
@@randyburbach417 nah, you’re wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!😂🎉😅
Joe changed my life. I saw The Clash when I was a boy and it affected me the way few things have. I was also fortunate enough to see his final New York show. He is missed every day. If success is measured by the positive impact one makes on the world, then few rival Joe.
59 dislikes that I will never understand why, this song is so hard not to love.
no shit- I mean it makes me feel like I'm falling in love every time I hear it
I can't hear it without my eyes tearing up
Goosebumps.
I feel sorry for the guy/girl who hears this and is so disgusted that they have to tell people they don’t know about it. Weird.
Seriously. 59 people who need to be sent to the rock & roll re-education camps.
What makes Joe's death even sadder to me is that I think he was really on top of his game again. His is the voice of Rock and Roll.
+pop gun During his last days, according to a couple of sources, he was working on a new set of songs -- for The Clash
burb3868 I think I read that he even mentioned these songs to Mick.
+burb3868 I doubt that's true. All the former members were offered a lot to get the Clash back together but Joe said he never wanted to do it.
+Dzeimz Mingow nnope, it was 100% true. Jones verified it. Money was never their main motivation
Randy Burbach I'm not saying they were motivated by money. That's literally the OPPOSITE of what I said.
I can’t figure out why this song is so freaking great and I can’t stop listening to it….. 🤪
God bless Joe !
One of the few rock icons that I would've even cared to have met. Joe always came off as being honest and humble. Great song.
met the man twice.he bent over backwards for the fans.posed for a photo with me,signed ticket,had a chat.sound man.missed.
+Mark Bugler Cool, man. I still can't believe he's gone. Your lucky to have met him. I wish I had the chance.
Eric M Yes I was told that Joe was down to earth and humble
Mark Bugler Omg lucky you I love him
just like bruce!
There is a small old theater in my area that has a large mural of Strummer painted on a lobby wall.
This song is about Lola, his daughter, Lola and Jazz are beautiful women who had and still have 1 of the best dads ever, we still love you Joe ❤️
20 years today.
THE ONLY ONE THAT MATTERS
Thank you Joe!

I'll be 50 this year. There are few tunes I can play over and over. This is one of them.
Right there with you, man

Brings tears to my eyes....just so brilliant
This song makes me cry every time❤
The legend that is JOE STRUMMER R.I.P lad
This song still brings a tear to my eye. It was that christmas i bought that single.
THANKYOU JOE x
I teared up listening to this this morning. I Didn’t expect that I would, but all of the memories of listening to the Clash in my bedroom came back. They were “my band.” I loved them so much. Guess I still do. RIP Joe Strummer. The GOAT IMO
Obrigado Joe Strummer!!Você vive em cada um de nós!!Let's go!!!!!
Clash's first song in America, at the Paladium, NYC, Feb 1979, "I'm So Bored In The USA." Was there. I am still weepy.
Actually, the Clash played a "secret show" in San Francisco in '77 or early '78. The venue was Temple Beautiful. It was called a secret show since they did it on the sly, didn't want the record label to know. Or something like that ....
@@pgtorrez1246 I also think they might have played at another venue prior to '79 as well as SF. It was always my understanding '79 was the first, but I am finding out that is probably not accurate. Peace.
One of Joe's Late Classics.
This song doesn't get anywhere near the love and credit it deserves...it channels the bursting-with-energy-and-joyful-protest vibe of Clash stuff like "Rudie Can't Fail", but at the same time, some of the lyrics, along with that really wonderful choice of chords in the chorus, lends this song a kind of melancholic, reflective, kind of wistful vibe that hadn't really been heard from Strummer before, but--I think--suited him very, very well.
I agree. This is one of his best songs ever imo. Same goes for Burnin' Streets.
dOUBTLESS ONE OF MY FAVOURITE SONGS EVER LISTENED. I COULD PLAY IT OVER AND OVER... tHANKS JOE! ALWAYS IN MY HEART!
celui qui n'aime pas pas ce morceau est un homme qui n'a aucun gout.respect joe strummer.
Legend.
I shed tears, he was so amazing
CANDY W I know
Joe will always be loved and missed.
Amy Allgeier Yes always
Thanks for everything, Joe.
Thank you so much Hellcat Records for posting all this Strummer stuff. x
Fucking legend ..I'm a clash fan through & through brought on from my brother who was there back in the day ..went onto bad ..then mick was my hero ..Joe oh Joe you were the clash & without the clash there's no bad or so so much more .. absolute fucking legend
What a man absolute legend ..give me a break on david bowie thing ..Joe strummer should be taught in school. How to be a musician. How to right poetry. How to right songs.how to put it all together & how to be a rock god
Joe showed us how to make music and live life with dignity and pride. He never sacrificed what he believed in to sell out. He is a true hero. We need people like Joe Strummer now more than ever. Thanks for the music...RIP!
I'm 14. I am mentally grown up (and growing up) with him and I have to thank my father. Without him I'd never became the person who I am right now. Thanks, Joe, terrific human.
One of the first artists if not the first artist my father educated me in when I was small.
You have a great dad there my friend
you are so lucky, god bless you father!!
he was just incredible ...
if none of you have seen "let's rock again" it'll touch your heart. nobody was ever so humble.

Beautiful Joe
this has been one of my favorite songs for the longest time.
Happy heavenly birthday Joe. Thanks for everything.
Joe never pass away....... He's fly eternally.....
Cheers from Argentina!!!!
Joe is the reason I play a telecaster
I always wanted a thin line with the f hole.
Happy Heavenly 72nd Birthday Joe Strummer August 21 1952 - December 22 2002
Just had a way about him in which he made it all seem so simple. Guess that's what makes up a genius and true talent. The way they make it look so easy. Joe is one of the few. He reminds me every time I hear one of his songs that the everyday shouldn't be just that. It should be more important right now , this moment than ever before because it truly is . RIP JOE
Joe's fingerprint,The Clash and Mescaleros were amazing and Joe is an eternal light that will never disappear!!
From Bilbo, Basque Land, what a wonderfull song and a pleasant regards. For many nights we put it to close the bar at 7:00 am, aftee looooong and hooligan journeys of Saturday, accompanying our work and the leisure of the clientele. Hurrah for Joe!! and "his" mona lisaaa!! Goraaaa!!
The first record I ever bought was The Clash. I was 10 years old and had some change left over from a coat my mom sent to get off layaway. I had 8 bucks. I always walked into the record store and just stared at this record. All army green with 3 of the coolest guys I ever saw. So I got the record and told my mom that I must of lost the money. I went into my room and put on the record. I've been hooked since I first heard Complete Control. RIP Joe! Thank you.
Another brilliance sample. What a song. Great lyrics (as always) and a sticky changing melody. We all miss Joe Strummer for ever, a great loss for the music world. Just great.
How are his vocals just so perfect. So much feeling somehow
Got the itch to listen to this song. RIP Joe Strummer. Gone but never forgotten!
Thank you Joe Strummer for paving the way! I'm not sure what I would be listening to today if it wasn't for Joe and others alike. RiP You're a true innovator
Joe Strummer lives on forever
Man, I miss this guy so much! We need a positive and rebellious influence like his, these days! 💔
I wasn't alive in the 70s or 80s but Strummer has been an unending source of inspiration to me, without him I never would have picked up a guitar and started the career I'm in today, or the great people I've come to know through his and other punk artists' music. He has pretty much influenced my whole life. R.I.P. Mr. Strummer, you fantastic human being.
The song that got me into the Mescaleros. About his daughter, i believe. RIP Joe you will live forever. Xx
I totally love his melodic chant at 3:10
I remember towards the end of 2001 or 2002, whenever it was, Joe was touring the UK and playing some really nice small venues, like the Concorde 2 in Brighton. In the end I couldn't get it together to go, "I'll catch him on the next one" I said to myself....
Obviously, that didn't happen. But I learned some very good life lessons that I'm sure Joe would approve of:
Do it now!
Don't put it off!
Dont put anything off!
The time is now!
Put off the unimportant things!
Prioritise!
If not now, when?!
Why not now?
DO IT NOW!
You never know when your opportunities will disappear.
Joe was one of the truest good guys there ever was, always remembered.
The late 90s and early 00's were a funny time for music. If he was still around now, he would be back to playing two nights in a row at Brixton Academy again like the Clash used to, and Joe and The Clash would be much more well known too.
I'm still waiting for the Clash to get the true recognition they deserve outside of the small minority that has already got the memo
as important as the air we breath
oi! from CANADA. I miss u sooo much. one of the greatest ever!!!!
I honestly have to thank jason adams for using this song in his bag of suck part. If he hadnt i would have never looked up joe strummer or been able to connect him to the clash. This song and that part have stuck with me for 10 years and counting. I do favor this over the clash personally. If i never looked into it, i would have never been able to pay my respects
grazie joe , da quel lontano 1981 che ti vidi a bologna ,bhe' ......un grande abbraccio dovunque tu sia e ....stay free
This feels so strangely like his “last song.” Soaring; timeless track.
Un genio Joe Strummer un poeta un verdadero rocker 100% auténtico

Joe Strummer was awesome ,what a singer, writer and man..
I can't believe how long it's been. RIP Joe Strummer!
This isn't a popularity contest, son. It's the internet. Listen to the song as many times as you want and move along.
LMAO. You seem like such a just angry for no reason, oh wow is me...the whole world is against me loser type of dude that seemingly never has a positive comment to say. Guess what the world doesn't care enough to be against you. Lol. I don't usually make negative comments about others but u just struck a nerve. U had to bash someones positive comment and the way this guy made him feel good. U suck dude!!! I'm sure you have heard that before. I feel sorry for you
RIP Joe Strummer. We all miss you. You are still influential today!
happy birthday joe!!

OMG I always cry on this song. It' just so beautiful.
love his songs performances and arrangements
Excellent album. Hellcat rules.
I was crawling through a festival way out west
I was thinking about love and the acid test
But first I got real dizzy with a real rocking gang
Then I saw the Coma Girl and the excitement gang
And the rain came in from the wide blue yonder
Through all the stages I wandered
Coma Girl and the excitement gang
Mona Lisa on the motorcycle gang
Coma Girl
Coma Girl
Coma Girl was beating with the Oil Drum gang
Some fast food fanatic was burning down the burger van
Somebody was wailing off their head
Nobody was ripping the teen scene dead
And the rain came in from the wide blue yonder
I thought you and me might wander
Chorus
As the 19th hour was falling upon Desolation Row
Some outlaw band had the last drop on the go
Let's siphon up some gas let's get this show on the road
Said the Coma Girl to the excitement gang
Into action everybody sprang
The oil drums were beating out dulang dulang
Coma Girl and the excitement gang
Mona Lisa on the motorcycle gang
Coma Girl
Coma Girl
joe is every star up in the sky
Go for it, dude. I'm at a library in a town i'm moving out of next week. If anything, your shenanigans will get traced back to you and you'll have to take it up with the city of Wichita. Have fun!
