- Here some entire songs live from "Let's Rock Again !"
On the original DVD you only got pieces of the songs. Here are the fully edited versions ...
Another movie were I participated as editor. Directed by my friend Dick Rude.
This is "Rudy can't fail", shot in several gigs across USA during Joe's last tour.
Joe's passion and voice are an integral part of my music upbringing 👍🎸🎶
I miss Joe. Man, we miss you, they’ll never be another Joe. 🤙 RIP JOE STRUMMER! I love you man.
Is there a happier CAR DRIVING song than 'the Clash's magnificent "Rudy Can't Fail?" The apex of roots driven punk powered music from London Calling. So unlimited the possibilities seemed then with punk and reggae combining. I wish the song never ended and just kept rolling along with Strummer ad libs!
I like listening to it while I'm on the route of the 19 bus
Dire straights walk of life would be a tie but no, no their isnt.
I’d never consider this a “happy” song…”Went to the market to realize my soul, ‘cause what I need I just don’t have…first they curse then they push me ‘til I hurt”. Not exactly a light-hearted sentiment there, boyo!
What a beautiful fucking soul. He looks very tired. His heart obviously ailing by now, however, pushing on all cylinders. A gifted musician and a brilliant humanist.
joe can't fail
Some of the most talented and bad-ass musicians ended up in The Mescaleros. They should have been HUGE.
Joe Strummer was my songwriting idol and the Clash were and still are my favorite band of all time. I cried like a baby when he passed away.
Seen all the legends back in the day. Saw the Clash four or five times in the 70s/80s. Some fabulous times, just fabulous. Unfortunately, they've all but vanished into the depths of my ageing memory
One thing I can remember like yesterday though is the Mescaleros at The Leadmill just before my currently 24 year old daughter was born. Fuck me, you've never seen the likes. What a gig! One of the best nights of my whole life.
I feel sorry for kids these days. Yeah, you've got your big screens and stadium gigs, you've got social media notifications so you never need miss anyone who's coming near, you've got instant access to ticketing (even if it is with Ticketmaster..), you've got RUclips to watch anything you might have missed...
But you're never, ever seeing the likes of Joe Strummer and The Clash again.
Can we just take a second to acknowledge how goddamned tight his band is here? I'd have been doing a lot more than just nodding my head if I'd been in that audience.
this is an awesome live version! joe sounds like he did when he was in his 20s
it's crazy his voice kept getting better with age, his last album Streetcore and all the last of his live performances sounded amazing
it's crazy his voice kept getting better with age, his last album Streetcore and all the last of his live performances sounded amazing
@@Tommyknox777 It makes it even sadder too because Streetcore was such an amazing album and he was in top form before his passing. It also truly looked like The Clash were going to reform, Joe wanted it, Mick wanted it though Paul wasn't too interested. Mick even talked about how Joe had stuff written for a new Clash album. Thankfully those two got to perform one final time together at one of Joe's final shows a little over a month before his passing.
Ignore Alien Orders I love joe’s voice so beautiful and soothing.
@@Peppers19781978 I always think about that. It was near his passing that I got into the clash/mescaleros. I'd give my youth up for a chance to see him live.
Joe is my hero
"Sippin' brew for breakfast" since retirement ❤

Gracias Joe
brilliant RIP joe
That this has so few views and likes is a testament to the short-term success of Neo-Liberalism. We miss you Joe. x
Fantastic song beautifully shot very atmospheric
That crowd looked in to it, looked like a fun show!
He was a nice man, too, and had plenty of time for his fans. If you could push through your nerves and approach him he would not leave you hanging.
Miss you Joe. 💜💜🖤💜
Such an amazing performance by Joe and amazing documentary as well. I got help promote this documentary when it came to Silver Spring, MD back in 2004. I was shocked when I got a phone call from Dick Rude and was sent a bunch of huge posters, some I still have. Being also a huge Red Hot Chili Peppers fan I was even more excited when I got to meet Dick at the screening.
Grazie Joe😢😢😊
Happy Birthday Joe

Bought London Calling in Listen Records Renfield Street Glasgow £3.99 (Do Not Pay More Sticker) Think that was a Joe Strummer stipulation.

No generational assistance au contraire
A forgettable performance of a genius song. It is terrible, actually, how those invent the good misremember themselves the evil.
