    I was at this gig. At the front too.
    It was February 1980.
    Lewisham odeon is gone and is a car park now.
    I still got the ticket stub.

      Nick could do it all...him and Stewart Copeland were the 2 best drummers of the "punk rock" genre. You get a drummer like Nick or Stewart in the driver's seat and there is nothing you can't achieve musically.

      @@andylowe1517 Yes he was and still is. He's very animated behind the, lotsa fun to watch, and he hits hard, has rock solid timing and great chops. He's one of my faves...I like Bun E Carlos as well, he's the American Ringo.

      @@superpotiron He wrote Rock the Casbah (the music) and played bass and piano on it as well as the drums. So yes, he is the most talented musician. :-)

      But I know band such as the stooges had a lot to do with it too but the sex pistols were the first to break in the scene without being perfect musicians and putting their energy on the stage

      @@lejlatiric7037 The Sex Pistols where definitely not the first Punk band but they were a part of the first official wave of punk bands.
      The Stooges where a big influence on the punk genre howevr they weren't a punk band they where A Garage rock band that was a heavy influence on the genre we know today.
      other bands influenced this and are now seen as "Proto-punk" bands associated with this term includes The Stooges, MC5, The Velvet Underground, Patti Smith etc...

    0:34 That's how a PunK gig should always look like! No fucking cellphones, 3-5 PunKs on stage and a bunch of PunKs going crazy listening to that powerful PunK song like the Clampdown, how can this be so fucking strong? PunK will definitely never die, 2020 and forever!

    The Clash are on frikken FIRE here! SO glad they came to scuzzy old Christchurch NZ back in '82, where I got to see them at the town hall. Such a buzz - still unequaled to this day!

      I was at that concert too. It was awesome. Never forgotten the buzz. We can be grateful to RDU for organising a petition to get them to come to scuzzy old ChCh, as originally we weren't even on their radar.

    Lewisham and The Clash two things that became part of my life forever. Bank robber video also shot here, where new old bill shop is across road. Make you're heart bleed.Sadly missed Joe. Working Class been sold out at such a rate you wouldnt believe the half of strokes being pulled. saw Clash three times met Mick. Within feet of Joe. Best band in world never be another Clash.

    Between 76 and 85 l went on tour with these Amazing guys practically non stop, saw them in the region of 150- 160 times, lm paying for it now with severe arthritis in my knees lol all that pogoing!!!

    Growing up in New Zealand and lovin* the clash I can still remember this footage being shown on a late night music show called radio with pictures , I was 17 at the time , London calling hadn’t been out that long , it was a special time in music history, it’s funny how some things stay strong in your memory .

    Just for reference, should anyone care…one of the key “Indistiguishable” lyrics here is “Begging to be melted down!”…it’s a reference to the earlier “Working hard in Harrisburg”, about an accident at a U.S. nuclear plant. I’m assuming Joe Strummer was worried about nuclear plants, there’s also “a nuclear error” in “London Calling.”

    Saw them in the late 70s at west runton pavillion..77 i think with slits, buzzcocks, subway sect..prob a few more..they were filmed by don letts at the gig. Id love to see it..
