been listening to the Clash constantly for 40yrs and how ignorant i was to have never discovered this Mescaleros music until tonight, brought a tear to my eyes. my hero all over again.
This guy, his words, his attitude his music has meant so much to me in my life. Got me through some real dark times. Met him once and he couldn't have been sweeter. Miss him so much. Rest easy punk rock warlord
Considering the state of the world at the moment can you imagine what phenomenal content the great man would be sharing with us right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! shit man I miss this guy, we could really do with some Joe wisdom
@ Kevin Vest: Are You sure You are standing where You think You are standing? However: As Young man I was at a kind of position as You are. The older I became the more I drifted into left thinkings. But this is not important. I appreciate when someone is honest enough and says the truth about his political attitude. But what is really important: Joe Strummer is unforgotten and sometimes I also would have liked to met him. ruclips.net/video/Bz6BZhNP_kg/видео.html This is the creed of Rock'Roll! Regards
@@snoopdoge4462 I don't mind an artist's left-wing politics if that artist writes music that transcends the political and captures the human, Strummer does that. I also think he was grouped in with left-wing politics because it was the punk fashion of the conservative Thatcher years. His music today doesn't feel left-wing at all, it seems to capture struggle rather than promote a particular ideology. The Clash actually identified themselves as neither left nor right, and honestly their music feels neither left or right.
I could write my English Thesis on Joe Strummer's imagery throughout his song writing Images here that he presented in Sandinista .and in other brilliant songs . Solo work , movie soundtracks and with the Clash The Man was Genius ❤
Well so long, liberty let's forget you Didn't show, not in my time But in our sons' and daughters' time When you get the feeling, call and you got a room Meantime, we're cutting our hands At the ke-bab shop in the streets of fear Forgetting all our best tae-kwon-do Moves on a barrel of beer We trying to get a signal on a Ragga F.M. Can we please have him back
I'd gladly exchange him for Lydon.
Just to add some credit to Antony Genn (ex-Pulp) who persuaded Strummer to start writing + performing again (member of the band 1999-2000).
Antony Genn also has/had his own band 'The Hours' + did the music for season 4 of Peaky Blinders.
I really love Joe and his music so much. He means everything to me.
Pure genius! This is SENSATIONAL! #VivaJoeStrummer
I’m a right-wing conservative and I have so much respect for this man and his music/words. He’s so amazing and I wish I could have met him.

would you explain to him why you hate socialism and immigrants? i’m sure that’s please him
I feel exactly the same way.

@@useyournogos6845 he wasn’t “grouped in” he was a self described socialist
Photographer, to Joe, "Can I take a picture of you?"
Joe, "You can take a picture of anything. THAT'S punk rock."
💔miss you Joe💔
There's people living now who ain't got no heart an ain't never had none 🎶
I love the feeling of this song. Strummer just had a strong instinct on how to put together good songs.
So Fkn GOOOOOOOD

A masterpiece ,sad missed, rip Joe, legend
Like a lot.
Well so long, liberty let's forget you
Didn't show, not in my time
But in our sons' and daughters' time
When you get the feeling, call and you got a room
Meantime, we're cutting our hands
At the ke-bab shop in the streets of fear
Forgetting all our best tae-kwon-do
Moves on a barrel of beer
We trying to get a signal on a Ragga F.M.
Do the D.T.I., bust CNN
Sucking the wine right outta the vine
Spitting it out again
Groovin', let's cut out of the scene, go groovin'
Groovin', let's cut out of the scene, go groovin'
Drive, drive, distance no object, rasta for I
Yalla yalla, yalla yalla
Yalla, yalla, ya-li-oo, whoa
Yalla yalla, yalla yalla
Jambalaya on the Bayou
Kool Moe Dee was in the treacherous three
There's old school, new school and Brownie McGee
Going underwater to explode
Now night is falling on the grove, you can but dream
And I hear yalla yalla, yalla yalla
Yalla yalla, ya-li-oo, whoa
Yalla yalla, yalla yalla
Jambalaya on the Bayou
Yalla yalla, yalla yalla
Yalla yalla, ya-li-oo, whoa
Yalla yalla, yalla yalla
There's jambalaya on the Bayou tonight in the grove
Well so long, liberty just let's forget
You never showed, not in my time
But in our sons' and daughters' time
When you get the feeling, call and you got a room
Meantime we're cutting our hands
On the ke-bab shop in the streets of fear
Forgetting all those best tae-kwon-do moves
On a barrel of beer
Trying to get a signal through from Ragga F.M.
Do the D.T.I., bust CNN
Sucking the wine right outta the vine
And I'm spitting it back again
Groovin', let's cut out of the scene, go groovin'
Groovin', let's cut out of the scene, go groovin'
Drive, drive, distance no object, rasta for I
Somebody got a vision of a homeland
From a township, from a township window
Through a township window
Some crazy widow dares to have a vision
Starts seething, like
Seeming like a homeland on the plain
Not in focus yet
Seeming like a homeland on the plain
Not a focus yet
I'm groovin' with a free style nation
And the maximum density
And I say, yalla yalla, yalla yalla
Yalla yalla, ya-li-oo, whoa
Yalla yalla, yalla yalla
Jambalaya on the Bayou
Yalla yalla, yalla yalla
Yalla yalla, ya-li-oo, whoa
Yalla yalla, yalla yalla
Only to shine, shine in gold, shine
