LYRICS
i’m a match, she’s kerosene,
you know she’s gonna burn down everything
she’s an arsonist, in her pastime,
and i’ve been burned for the last time
it started out like any other morning,
the sky was red, he took it as a warning
she kicked the hive now the bees are swarming
then played the victim 'til the crowd starts forming
she’s got a history of making a scene,
yeah she’s telling stories, she’s gaslighting
like he’s the executioner and she is the queen,
but he’s the one who’s neck is in a guillotine,
he said i’m a match, she’s kerosene,
you know she’s gonna burn down everything
she’s an arsonist, in her pastime,
and i’ve been burned for the last time
the smoke clears out and he’s been awakened.
he said this life could be mine for the taking
she needs a drink so she start shaking,
and play the victim 'til his heart starts breaking
no real tears cause she don’t mean it,
this landscape used to be so scenic
and he could make it out, if he could dream it.
rising up from the ash, he’s a phoenix
i’m a match, she’s kerosene,
you know she’s gonna burn down everything
she’s an arsonist, in her pastime,
and i’ve been burned for the last time
you play with me, you're playin' with fire

Awesome single. This band is rad!
Love this song!! It's catchy.
Love this song, great work. Just went and showed it to all my teenage daughter. If your into constructive criticism, I would love to hear it with some horns. Not that in needs anything, just sayin'.
OMG exactly what I was thinking! I love the song and it almost sounds like horns are in it, but if they actually did, it would be even better!!

RA :)
So refreshing to hear an actual alternative/punk/ska band in 2018.
I love it. Did you know they did it completely without editing? It was the second rendition
that's incredible. I didn't know that. They're a great band, so talented
If modern day ska punk is your thing, you should check out Millie Manders and the Shutup
Mario Speedwagon thanks for the recommendation. I’ll check them out
Dude seriously, Why do current ska bands hang onto all the worst aspects of 3rd wave? ATTENTION ANYONE CONTEMPLATING A SKA BAND!, this is what you need to sound like!
As a 90's kid, this Band was a breath of fresh air...
They were formed in the 90s!?
@@DontrelleRoosevelt Nah, he means they sound like the 90s/00s ska punk bands. They formed in 2011, their first album came out in 2014.
46 years old, and I have listened to all of the music that leads to this. Dandy Livingston, Toots and the Maytals, The Clash, The Specials, Rancid... this band, and this song, is a culmination of awesomeness that I cannot help but sing along, and can never sit still. They are legit standard-bearers, and I am loving it!
They have a little bit more of the two tone ska sound. Just a little bit more edge than some of the third wave bands. I really like this band a lot. I was a little surprised to see a new ska band getting popular but it's cool. I mean, Tim Armstrong may have a lot to do with this band but even rancid hasnt had a big album in like 15 years so I'm pretty stoked to see this band coming up.
@@johnny5fingers0966 Telegraph Avenue on Rancid’s latest is pretty rad! That album reminds me of the out come the wolves sound
Same here! All those bands, and the newer generation carries through with the roots!
they play very well, I remembered my youth.
P.s. Greetings from Russia
@@johnny5fingers0966 Let's mention that mixing and mastering is impeccable on this one. Punk does not have to sound like crap to have impact.
We are desperately in need of a ska resurgence! You can't listen to ska without feeling better because of it!👍🔥
I'm 42 and not ashamed to admit I'm skanking in my bedroom to this very loudly. My kids are in for a treat.
Dude, I'm 38 and Skanking to this right now! No shame shall be had!
Just turned 30 and still skanking it up and will until I'm dead🕺🏾🔥🕺🏾🔥🕺🏾🕺🏾🔥🖤🤘🏾
36 and Ska never died for me much to the annoyance of all but my best of friends lol
Make sure you stretch and keep an ice pack handy if you pull something.
46. remember Phat Wreck Chords?
I can’t stop listening to this... it brings me back to my youth... when Rancid, NOFX, Bad Religion, Op Ivy, and all my punk, and ska bands fucking made an impact on my life! Thank you guys! 🤘🤘
Me too me too 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Oh man Bad Religion was sooooo good. Saw them at warped tour in the 90's
Dude I'm 31 and I still blast this all those guys music in my car, it's good shit and won't stop lol
Bad Religion and Reel Big Fish are the greatest!
Ska is eternal
Did anybody else genuinely think this song was 20+ years old when they heard it?
Yup. I could swear I heard it years ago.
Yeah, definitely. Thought this was something I missed from high school circa 1993
Haha when I first listened to them (which was like 5 hours ago) I thought they were from at least the early 00s if not the late 90s until I heard her say 1993 was 20 years ago and I was like wait......what
YES! On first listen I originally placed their stuff as far back as the late 90's (98 to be specific) up to maybe the early 2000's. It was so much like what I used to listen to in highschool - I did a double take when I learned how recent some of their work is.
Yes! I was like jesus how have I not heard this before
I'm 65. I haven't had a crush on a singer since I was 20. But I do now... Unbelievably good band
This band is a breath of fresh air...
Ever heard of Midnight Creeps?
You and me both 57 plus. Just shows there's life in the old dogs yet
Get it Robert
I saw her first. she's mine.
You know Aimee’s fine when even her silhouette looks good!
She's hot
@@richardstanyer5199 agreed-all that talent makes her even more desirable
I drink her bath watet
what the fuck
I'm in luv bud.
I've listened to this song a good 72 times and I'm still in love with it. YOU GO AMY INTERUPTER!!!!
I somehow never realised The Interrupters had a female vocalist woah she's amazing
Yeah it came up on a my RUclips videos when i wasn't paying attention to it, and i thought it was a dude at first too LOL
And now they're one of my favorite ska/punk band's Lol
It was one the best accidental discoveries I've made on RUclips a few years ago LOL
@@powertothepeople3820 haha amazing. I didn't actively listen to them before, but I knew of a few songs. They're touring with Green Day, Fall Out Boy, and Weezer though, so I guess I discovered them properly through the Hella Mega Tour playlist on Spotify and now I can't wait to see them!
shes fucking gorgeous in person too
omg ska punk is back!!! i'm not old anymore!!!
Yes you are and so am I but it ain't gonna stop me skanking. Tu Tone forever. Oh and I guess Hellcat too.
I'm 60. Love it.
=]
Who said ska was dead?
Makes me want to play Tony Hawks Pro Skater...
Something that kinda made me realize why I love their stuff so much: It's obvious they always are energetic and enjoying the hell out of performing songs. Bleeds over into how their performance comes across, they're doing this because it's fun as hell, like music should be.
Having seen them live last year it comes across even more so with an audience present - amazing band 🎤🥁🎸🎸🏁❤️🍻
I’m 54 years old and for 30 years I thought music was basically dead. It’s back! Thank you Interrupters.
Exactly 30 years since Operation Ivy isnt it? There have been good ska bands since dude, the interrupters are fantastic though :)
@@Gazmus But to have it hit RADIO!
Bring Punk Rock back!!!!
@@JohnnyBudTimmins I heard it on an LA radio station here in So Cal, "ALT 98.7", that's how I heard of this song!!!
Check out "You Might Be Right" from White Reaper - an all -American band that actually plays instruments and uses the other band members for vocals and harmonies instead of electronics.
This woman has an amazing powerful voice.
When I first heard them, I thought it's Brody Dale from Distillers. There are some similarities. Then I went to check out the video and I realized it's not her, but The Interrupters have moved up on my list, over Distillers.
@@puffin20fuck off. brody was a victim of tim armstrong, & now these are his new pet monkeys. the spirit of distillers will always be beyond his manipulation & this weird clone bullshit
It's like The Distillers and Rancid had a baby
IKR!
Considering Brody Dalle and Tim Armstrong were engaged, this could well be their secret lovechild?!
I think it's catchy af.
Right on the head
@@psychopaul weren't they married tho?
Me singing along: "Hell yeah, I've been burned for the last time!"

That's why I carry fucking pepper spray on me. Surprisingly when I walk into a room and tell them I'm packing heat, it's much more civilized.
That heat though
Absolutely loving this song, takes me back to the 90's. Was jamming out in the garage and my 4 year old son walked in and started jumping around dancing, he told me that this song is cool daddy, I like your music... completely amazing I've never played it for him before. Wish I would have made a video of him ska ing around.
My husband just stumbled upon this song, he didnt think a second about it, but it is one of me faves now ♥️älskar det
I'm really glad theirs still young bands out there making this style of music. Always liked their sound, Keep up the Ska!
I knew Aimee when she was singing at open mics in Missoula (we played the same one). She had an amazing voice and everyone knew she was going somewhere with her talent. Her voice back then wasn't raspy, but this is her signing for sure. Glad to see her kicking ass.
They are lyrically a top tier band
Totally forgot about this song. Haven't heard it in years. So glad it showed up again.
When lyrics and vocals have power without any screaming...well done!
Interrupters Binge after Umbrella Academy, love this shit.
Umbrella Academy has had absolutely fantastic soundtrack choices from the beginning, but their cover of Bad Guy being included was one of the absolute highlights - and that's **after** Peter Shilling's "Major Tom" was masterfully integrated into the intro of the same episode!
@Useless Tomato 2 You won't regret it
@Useless Tomato 2 electric boogaloo its my favourite netflix show ever! i already knew the interrupters beforehand, and literally screamed when it came on aha!
It's refreshing to hear a woman singing a ska tune when hip hop is everywhere.
Hey now nothing wrong with hip hop. We can live in harmony.
purplegill10 for Real
preach it
omg, your comment is so retarded!
If I wouldn't see it, I wouldn't believe it's a chick. Voice 😅
As a man, I was abused. This song is so relatable. I’m just gonna say it. Women aren’t the only ones who are abused. Men’s mental health matters, not all men are abusers, but rather the abused.
Great song! Immediately reminded me of the good ol" days of Rancid
Mama Monster Sounds like if Brody Dalle we’re fronting Rancid instead
I can understand the similarity to Rancid, but it's way less edgy.
Nice song. It reminds me of the 90s.
That's how you know it's horrible.......the 90's.......horrible decade.
It is because it's ska-punk
I know right. I thought that this was a 90s song so I was surprised when I found out it was made this year.
Also if you like these guys then you'd like rancid.
Tim Armstrong influence right there...
This gives me so much hope for the Continuation of of music, I REALLY wish this type of music(ya know, people with talent playing instruments) was on the radio...amazing guys, absoutly love it!
crustysocks 92 no one listens to the radio, it's all about streaming services now
Progression? This is about as derivative and uninspired as it gets.
abark Stfu bro
Fuck the radio , its just for corporate shit.
abark do better then
Please, someone, stop me from listening this over and over again. It`s so cool, i can`t stop myself. SOMEONE HELP ME.
I literally can't listen to this without dancing. It's involuntary, can't help it.
Ive seen this band 7 times in 2 years and I never get tired of them! I even got lyrics of theirs tattooed on my arm!
Every once in a while, RUclips actually nails a suggestion and this is a home run! Can't get this song out of my head. It's catchy as hell and it has a damn good flow. Consider me a fan!
I'm legitimately thinking this might be my favourite song of all time
Man, I love all of you guys!! I bought all of your music because between this song and raised by wolves! You guys seem to know what actual relationships feel like!!!!!!!!!!! My biggest regret is finding this band 5 years too late!!!!!!!!
I saw The Interrupters open for the Mighty Mighty Bosstones once in 2014 when they just released their first album and they were a very small band. I heard this on the radio 5 years later and I was like omg I remember hearing this band open I can’t believe they made it big. But I’m glad they did they’re certainty talented
That concert must have been amazing
Im hearing No Doubt mixed with Bosstones mixed with B-52s dressed with Joan Jett and served on a Pat Benetar Platter. Love it!
Or a ska-ified Distillers. Literally thought this was a new project from Brody Dalle first time I heard it. No hate though, it’s a great song!
I'm like theo nly person who thinks Pat Benetar is like dull music from that genre over there.
This warms my heart in a skanky way!! Its been about 20 years since I hung up my pork pie, bracers, and wing tip creepers. Thank you guys so much for keeping the happiest moments of my life living on. This is as if The checkered cabs and Dance Hall Crashers had a baby and it now all growns up! CHEERS!!
This song has been my anthem for almost a year 💜

I just discovered this song, and I'm blown away! Love it!
I LOVE this sooo much. Huge fan of Ska/reggae and punk. This is bloody awesome. Thanks for bringing it back. It's kick ass.
IMO they aren't going to ever top this song, this is as good as it gets
I heard this song years ago on RUclips and lost the account I first heard it and the past couple months I’ve been looking for it!! I’m so happy I found it!!!
I just can NOT get enough of this Song!!!!!!....Damn!!!!
I love this woman's voice.. very husky! 💕

How have I not heard this before refreshing to hear some good ska I have not enjoyed this so much than the last time I seen the specials in my home town of Coventry
If this came out early 00s this would be in a burnout game or Digimon movie.
This would fit straight into any Burnout from the PS2 era lol
Definitely would've appeared on the Tony Hawk games too.
doubt it
It hurts how accurate this is. Imagine this playing when Greymon destroys Parrotmon with Nova flame.
I feel personally attacked by the overwhelming truth of this statement, and I love it.
They opened green day's concert here in Peru.
They did it in every country
Colombia too.
I didn't know them back then so I missed seeing them when I saw GD 😭
Oh poor green day , upstaged bigtime
Vicente C nope I booked tickets for that concert and I live in the uk and the interrupters were replaced with a band I’ve never heard of
Killer bass line. I love all of it
The silhouettes at the beginning with the foot tapping-- iconic.
Hard to believe this absolute banger is going on 4 years old.
Already crazy in love with this song, can’t wait for the album it’s gonna be amazing! 🤘🏻🖤
Found this band though Hella Mega, AND NOW I'M IN LOVE!
My wife and I bought their first album, yes vinyl, right after we heard their first single on XM radio's Faction. 3 albums later and we finally get to see them in Regina Saskatchewan, in a little over a month. Cannot wait to hear them live.
WHEN THEY PLAYED THIS IN ATYPICAL I WAS SO HAPPY BECAUSE IVE SEEN THE INTERUPTERS IN CONCERT LIKE THREE TIMES
Why is there a bunch of people commenting about how old they are under music videos on RUclips? Who cares that you're in your 40s and listening to this song?
Because it takes us back to our youth I'm 50 and it's like a breath of fresh air compared to the shit on most radio stations
Discovered this song maybe just under a year ago and became obsessed. I was able to see them for the first time at the end of October and they were fantastic live! Can't wait to see them on the Hella Mega Tour in August!
I am 60 years old & an old school punk chick from the CBGB days. I adore this band. Come play NYC .
I'm 54 now and was around for the birth of 80's ska. Bombskare nailed it but not as much as these guys. It's so refreshing to know that ska has a future with up tempo classic tunes brought on by these guys. Will be following your careers with vigour, good luck guys and keep up the faith!.
theyve been playing this on my radio station...love it!
Love the sound of this. Reminds me of late 90s or early 2000s. Missed the sound of Ska. Hope it gets huge
Not gonna lie, I clicked because of the singer's silhouette on the thumbnail. Did not regret. Awesome tune.
Took my kid to his first show and they did not disappoint!! Hope to see them again soon. Great energy. This metal head truly enjoyed their vibe
They are so good live! Me and my gf saw them this year after a long 3 day weekend. We were so exhausted but their show brought us back to life
Saw them in San Antonio they were fucking phenomenal
Atypical peeps where we at?? glad to hear this on the latest season
