A lot of people don’t realize that Amy’s been a part of the music scene for quite some time now. Numerous punk/ska bands have had great female leads: Gwen was a good representation of ska in the earlier years of No Doubt, Monique Powell had a strong voice, Elyse and Karina harmonized so well together. Some of the bands with really good female leads didn’t make the impact that The Interrupters are currently making, but Amy, did any of the female leads from other punk/ska bands have an influence on your vocals?
A lot of great punk bands, and some ska, have a reputation to change their style of music and either crash and burn or evolve into a greater band through the transition. Do you guys, as a whole, plan on changing up your sound or can we expect the same style throughout?
So many good bands are or have been a part of the Hellcat roster. Is there any chance that we’ll see a Hellcat Festival with previous and current talent?

I unplugged my headphones and Rancid And out come the wolves album was on and Roots Radicals blared out. He said you can put it back in. Punk rock is not for everybody but gets me through the day.

This song less than most, but take a listen to their others snd compare them to Rancid. Even her vocal style sounds Tim Armstrong influenced.

As for Joan Jett.....
Almost all women in punk have a raspier voice style that is probably still compared to Joan Jett in more mainstream circles (again not a bad thing- I love Joan- just that folks aren't aware of other female raspy/rock style singers to choose from).
But musically, I don't see any Joan Jett at all.

Thanks a bunch, Interrupters. This song is currently my favourite new song and 2019's No. 1. It sounds like the good old 2000s rock song to me and have a bit of nostalgia when I was a rebellious teenage rock enthusiast.

A lot of people hear 90s punk regarding their sound, however I hear 70s and 80s as well (Ramones for example). And yes, I definitely hear (and see) Joan Jett.
