Yep, been reading many stories of catfishing on internet date groups. Just mean. So many seeking a person for time and conversation maybe a spark. Gave up internet groups totally. At least in person you can feel the vibe maybe a spark of infatuation.
If someone is so lonely that they will be talking for hours to strangers on a computer, it’s a sure sign they need to get out and make some real life friends, don’t you think? 🐡

I just joined at dating site, OurTime, and already getting the sense of iffyness! I initiated a conversation with one guy whose profile was very witty. Just thanking him for the giggles and his wit. His only reply was thanks for reading it and would you like to meet. I didn't reply as i really expected a little bit of back and forth wit! Another guy initiated the messaging. I replied with, "why no pictures?" He made a LONG list of excuses and proceeded to ask for my number or email. Not. Another guy, after exchanging a few short messages via site, gave me his number. I replied with a thanks and will consider. Minutes later ALL MESSAGES were deleted. I'm curious to know how that is done😂 because I'd like to do that myself. I subscribed for only a month. I think that will be enough for me.
I’m sorry it’s not working out for you right away. 😏 There are definitely techniques, guidelines and norms that are brought to mind around maneuvering around the apps and sites. Most of what you described has legitimate rationale behind it. Sounds like maybe you could use a little dating app coaching! 😉 Hopefully your profile is not calling out to people you would want to avoid. Be safe!!
Thanks for taking the time on the quick and legthy reply but I'm not sure I'm able to afford your expertise as I'm a retired 62 gal. I'm a healthy (proud to say no meds at all) gal not looking 62, absolutely debt free but I'm sure you're outside the ballpark of fees I can afford. I know Carey recommends meeting in person within a week, or making plans to….. maybe I watch too much true crime, but I do not feel safe meeting someone a week after connecting online. I do not even feel comfortable sharing my personal contact information that quickly. I am not a scammer, just cautious

I was curious of what was going on with the "wrong number" texts I was getting. I got into conversations with these clowns. Money always eventually comes up. The rule of meet in a week or delete will work 100% of the time with these clowns.

Money!! 1.3 BILLION dollars last year. And they are willing to play the long game to get it. In many forms. That is not to say that there have not been scammers, typically here in the United States, as opposed to abroad, who are very lonely people and create a false persona with fake photos, to attract an online only romance. But this is not nearly as common. Also exposed by not being willing to meet you within a week!
