We both work but we have time for each other..we set up a time we are going to hang out with each other and everything... people are scammers an u got to be careful now a days guys. Thanks Carey great protocal !! I unfortunately spent 8 months talking to someone sounded so sincere, excellent english grammer, never asked for anything...I was very nieve i had only been on an app 1 week, I lost 3 years getting through and over this horrible, destructive scam !!! I recently 6 months ago re engaged with dateing apps, tried 4 different ones, but seriously.....very hard to get a coffee meet up...I have just shut the apps down again the whole thing was very draining. :-( oh well hopeing to just meet someone randomly🤗love your video's

      I’m so sorry that happened to you and hope that we can Save someone eight months… or three years of their life by just following this one rule for themselves. If you decide to stay on the apps just be assertive and stick to your guns with the one week timeframe!
      Ps. In person works too!

      @@CoffeewithCarey thank you Cary I learnt my lesson and only told my story in the hope of helping others to realize..it may not be a money scam but more a very needy, narcisistic type who wants attention, it was an emotional rollercoaster ride. I'm stronger now and the whole experience was healing in the end as it shone a light on my 'need to please'. Childhood Abandonment Issues. It was a gamechanger for me. Thank again for your careing comments, love your grounded advise💖

    I will pass this video along to a female friend who's in her 60's. She is on dating platforms and constantly being hit-up by scammers who all seem to use the same playbook: they are always out of the country never local; they only want to text never talk on phone; within a week they tell her they are madly in love with her and want to marry her; within 2 weeks they're asking her for money because of some dire emergency. My friend has actually been fooled by scammers. Maybe she'll listen to you. Thanks!

    Just FYI I live on the west coast and will always have a Chicagoland area code. My mother chose it while I was in sixth grade and the last seven numbers are 823-4SAM. Not a scammer!

    • @CoffeewithCarey
      @CoffeewithCarey  3 года назад +2

      Except such a scammer! 😋😍
      Also scammers can now mirror your area code anyway. But you can always Google the phone number or run a reverse check.
      My main point stands: if they’re not meeting you within the week you are no longer communicating!!

    I've had one of them hit me up. In the military in Iraq and kept asking me about some sugar baby shit. It was a red flag for me so I stopped talking to them.

    I’ve have another way of doing this, not that your advice isn’t helpful because it really is, find out their spiritual life if they’re a protestant, Catholic, and talk about Jesus, most scammers really won’t have much to say about this and that pretty much tells you all you need to know 🙏🏼✝️

      This could work for people who are very religious and for whom
      their partner’s religious affiliation is important to them. Glad you found what works for you. 👍
