I use a product called Control GX. It's a beard dye shampoo by Just For Men that will gradually darken your hair based on how often you wash with it. I like it because I can darken just a little or a lot. It also helps you keep those highlights vs immediately turning your whole beard dark like a traditional dye would do. It works so gradually that it's hard to notice. Some people complain that it doesn't work at all but you have to keep using it to see results. Over time it makes a big difference and looks natural.
I use the same product. The first few weeks use it almost everyday and then only like twice a week to maintain. It actually makes my beard pretty soft and it just tones down the greys. Very gradual
I do it every 40 days for the last 4 years. and yes it look great. and yes my beard is black. the ammonia peroxide never had damage . and I do it myself. ask me anything.
Thanks for the comment. I tried it yesterday with mixed results. I can’t seem to get my white stripe to completely go away. Only about 75% after two applications. I might try it one more time.
@@beardsandbanjos With all the research you put behind this, you got this, Bryan! Plus, this video could help so many people out there questioning dyes.
Hi Bryan. Can’t wait to see how your beard looks after the dying of your beard. This will be a great little series. My beard has gray, white, black, and some red in it. I wouldn’t even know what color to dye it lol. I think my beard was dark brown w/nature red highlights in it before it started to grow gray. I don’t think I can match mine if I dye it. Can’t wait to see how your beard turns out. Thanks for always making great content my man
Great topic. When I started getting greys on my chin on 1 side, I didn't like it because it didn't look symmetrical. But they were very few, so I would dye it. Now my entire chin is pretty much white. I actually like it when I see it up close in the mirror, but must admit when I look at family pics...damn it looks so white lol. I have started to experiment a bit with dying a small area under the bottom lip because I've seen it on other guys and really like the look. The chin is still pretty much white but it just creates a cool effect. I wouldn't consider dying my entire beard at this point because it would be too much maintenance/upkeep and I've 'embraced the grey' so to speak.
Morning Bryan. This little series is gonna be interesting. I haven't died mine. Thought about it when it was shorter, 1/2 inch or so. Was really concerned about the drastic change, and the continuous up keep like you mentioned. Ultimately decided not to and at the length I'm at now, that would be a hard no.
Mine is pretty gray. It got even more gray/white due to lots of stress recently. I'm almost 49, but most people think i'm at least 10 years younger even though I have all this gray. No head hair / balding, shave with razor.
Embrace the gray.... I hated the fact my facial hair was going gray....but...once I let it grow out a little, I realized I kind of liked it...and I'm not going to do it in order to impress the ladies....or make them think I'm "younger".....cuz...well, I'm NOT "younger" ...lol. If I went bald, I would never wear a piece (I shave my head, anyway, so moot point) and I wouldn't dye anything.....to me, that's false advertising (I know it's a double standard...women dye, wear makeup, wigs, extensions, etc, etc....but..I'm not going to play that way).... And dude...yours is perfect just the way it is..."skunk stripe" and all.
I dye my beard with simpler products and i think does dont have ammonia in them its way better than just for men and looks more natural i recommend simpler products

@@beardsandbanjos yea I bet. I'm sure there were a lot of back and forth and questions in that negotiation process.
@@jasoncline4383 definitely. I also did quite a bit of investigation on my own before agreeing.
That’s my concern I’m all gray and i worried about damaging the hair and stunting my growth kinda scares me but i had thought about it
I understand. Stay tuned and I’ll be the Guinea pig.

Great thoughts! Thank you for sharing them. My skunk stripe is pretty distinctive, isn’t it? I did feel like I lost my superpower when I dyed it.
I don’t know about this one😂 going to be interesting for sure
I’m not sure either. I’m taking one for the team on this one.

I love your skunk beard!!

I’d be a little apprehensive also at my length
Yes. That would be a big undertaking that would be better suited for a professional I would think.
Some guys I know are scared of their white hairs of there beard and they won’t grow it out. I don’t understand when we get older each day. 🤦🏾♂️
Embrace the gray!
@@beardsandbanjos yes sir!!
Hmm....first
Early Bird!
Maybe add some blonde to the brown ya got to make it match better
Yeah, I think that would be the best way to go.
I've never have probably never will to much grey and other colors
Always fun to experiment, but I’m kind of dreading this one.
Hey Bryan how its going
Hi Ron. I’m doing ok. Hope that you are.
I’m nervous for you
Thanks. Me too. I might do it today and get it over with. I’m dreading it.
I wouldn’t color my beard. I love the natural color.
Right on. I like mine too.
