- In this video I discuss about what foods to avoid and what foods to eat in order to reduce pain and inflammation in the body. This diet is beneficial for Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) or any other arthritis as well as for people suffering from any autoimmune disease. I talk about AIP or the Autoimmune Protocol diet and how to get started with it. I also provide tips for vegetarians since AIP is hard to do if you are a vegetarian.

Nice information regarding Diet !! Along with these, You can have the RA Care pack to manage Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Mam which fruits and veggies are ok to eat in salads or in general for people with rheumatoid arthritis and if one is vegeterian..? Plz rply
This video truly tells the proper solution of the correct things to eliminate for getting rid of RA pain. However, for me In nightshades potatoes cause an issue while other night shades dont cause any problem. Also as you mentioned go grain free,so chapatis made of Cassaava flour can be consumed right?
Yes that's why elimination helps. Avoid everything first and then you can add things that your body is ok with. Yes cassava chapatis are ok!
Mam can we have chana sattu, brown rice and whey protein..plz reply soon
Hello - I am just coming across this now - I wish I knew earlier - really great info. I have RA for 10 years & vegetarian. For the turmeric part, you say try 1tsp up to 3x/day for severe pain - is that turmeric powder or is it chopped up fresh turmeric 1tsp/3x day - for most effectiveness? Thank you for your video & reply.
yes you can use either fresh raw turmeric root or turmeric powder.

I don't think ghee is allowed in AIP diet? Wondering what made you include that..
ghee is not aip but is something that most people doe well on since it does not have any milk solids. I recommend ghee for my vegetarian clients.
Bajjra milet is gluten free. Harsegram also
I had severe joint pain for years. Within a few days of starting a keto carnivore diet all my joint pain went away. Then a year ago I tried the vegan/McDougall herbivore diet the pain immediately came back twofold. So I decided to go 100% raw and that didn't help whatsoever unfortunately. I did give the vegan diet a month, the starch diet a month and the raw diet only lasted two weeks as the pain was intolerable. My doctor asked what diet changes did I make because not only did my pain suddenly return but I gained almost 15 pounds or a little more than a stone. My doctor advised me to go back to the keto diet so I did and the pain was totally gone in just a few days and within a few months I was back to my healthy weight of 165 pounds or just under 12 stones. So the way I see it, some diets/lifestyles work better for some and other diets may be better for others. Just depends I guess.
I totally agree with you that each individual is different. But overall grains and legumes are not good for pain and a keto/paleo approach is good for most people. In your keto carnivore diet, do you eat vegetables at all? thanks for sharing your experience here with us!
@@Cook2Nourish
Yes, lot's of veggies such as kale, broccoli, cauliflower and spinach. Also eat a lot of berries such as strawberries, raspberry and blueberries to satisfy my sweets cravings.
Yes vegetables are key. A nutrient dense diet is what helps to reduce inflammation. And berries are also an excellent source of antioxidants plus they are low in sugar. Hope you continue to stay pain free!
Im going through the same thing. I tried mcgoughal and immediately pain with my first white potatoe....Grains Oh my God.!....so im careful with the protein because i get acidcreflux..cheez..im confused .....just want a diet that will help me live long and not hurt my organs... No dairy no gluten etc...
Hi Iam suffering from RA without crp please suggest diet for me..
i find a pesto made of parsley, koriander, lemon juice, sea salt as well as some local+organic cold pressed rapseed oil we have where i live and which is very rich in Omega's, and having the perfect Balance of them, very helpfull, fresh herbs in general are the most powerfull foods.
i also love fresh tomatoes out of our garden and lots of chilli, the hotter the better, so not every one is the same, these have helped me tremendously, i also love our Potatoes, they are very healthy.......i do love Garlic, Ginger only as Tea, or extra Medicine or in Asian Foods, Turmeric only in organic Milk, i do not like the Taste and do prefer something local like Artemisia Annua Plant which growns here wildly or Thyme or Rosemary. :)
Things which i must totally AVOID is Alcohol, white Sugar, most industrian Sugars, and as for Honey etc. only use it as Medicine, if i do bake sometimes i use only Raw Sugar and also cut down the Amount in the Recipe. Most Grains; but funny enough i totally hate and can not eat Full Grain Wheat, i can eat white Pasta 1x a Week, i love Oats, no Problem and Spelt and Buckwheat, etc. I also love Sourdough Old Fashioned Rye Bread with 30% Wheat......every now and then, but not each Day, with organic Butter....Noone will take away my 1 Cup of Fairtrade Coffee a Day, even if i made it more of a Cappuccino latelly, added more Coccoa then Coffee.
Too much Meat gives me Hotburn, so i eat good Quality max. 2x Week, or 1x Meat and 1-2x Fish.....with me much depends on the Season of the Year, Time of Day also.
I i did realise that eating locally and seasonally, if possible organic, its Best for me. But local and seasonal is more important then organic.....idk but thats natural i quess, which is why i do not eat many Bannanas these Days, and i def. do NOT eat Quinoa, its the Main Staple of the Native People of South America and bc of the vegan Vibe and Ideology they can NOT afford it anymore, bc it has gotten so expensive, what an Outrage. I also must avoid most Legumes, except for Green Peas + and our local Farmers Lentils.
I do eat Oranges, Bloodoranges, and other Citrus Fruits, espec. Lemon, and Dark Grapes, espec. and only those with Seeds, and if they in Season, preferably organic, are great at the End of Summer and Fall (Grapes, we even have them in my Town) AND Wintertime for me (Citrus), they do provide the much needed Vitamin C, which repairs Cells. And Italy is not far from where i live, so its different then Bannanas. My Favourite Fruits though are all Berries espec. local Strawberries, which grow here from End of April-August, and if we plug them ourselves we can eat as much as we want on the Side, without Cost, and the ones we plug are much cheaper then in the Store. I also love Wild Garlic, Mushrooms and Blueberries which we bring Home from the Forrests when each is in Season.
I have had chronic Lyme Arthritis for 10 Years and all the Above plus taking Hot/Cold Showers, stopping with Cold, Sauna and Swimming outside when Summer as well as Sungazing and Sunbathing, is what has helped me lots, i did try what u said once and got so much sicker.....so again, not everyone is the same, some of us brake when told that even the Joy of trully good Tasting Foods and Rituals of their Forefathers are not healthy, which is not true. With chronic Illness is trial and error and no Day is the same. Medicine does NOT have to taste Discusting or be hard or expensive to get bc from very far away. On the Contrary! I detest any dogmatic Ideology, Balance is the Key.
Hi ...I have a rheumatoid arthritis but not too much serious but I have a little pain in my joints from two years that is moving pain...I start following RA diet but I want to ask one Question that I should eat methotrexate or other medicine with satvic diet or not?
Please watch my video from last week where I talk about medications in RA.
Mam I'm suffering from RA artists past 1 1/2 year I have taken steroids past years I have a side effect of steroids like swelling in my face but I can't stop them because if I stop taking the medicine for 1day it's getting more pain in my all joint
Are you continued steroids for one and half year ?
Hello mam, the video is very informative and thank you for the same.
Mam i m suffering from autoimmune disease and trying to follow aip but don't know how to completely follow it . Is there any medium to contact you? I will be very thankful to you.
Hi Saurav, sure you can contact me at cook2nourish@gmail.com for an appointment. I help coach clients on AIP as well as can provide specific diet and supplement recommendations after evaluating your history and symptoms. Also in my description box above, i mention about some resources/websites if you want to follow the AIP diet.
Thank you for giving an insight to get relieved of RA's nasty pain. I am following complete AIP diet.I am vegetarian so adding some green Moong dal while making my veggies, like spinach or bottle gourd. But I heard u say make khicri, can we have rice? .Thank you.
No rice however if you are vegetarian, I recommend making quinoa khichdi using quinoa and moong dal.
Thank you for quick response !
Hi... Your ra got cured?? Please reply
People with kidney stones are advised not to consume a lot greens veggies, how to tackle such conditions? Also the profile of protein in Soy is similar to a non veg profile of protein. Can a vegetarian include Soy in their diet?
You should consult with your nephrologist / dietitian to see how much quantity of greens you can consume. Cooked greens should be ok. Limit spinach and add other greens like arugula, kale, collard greens etc.
No grains, no lentils, no gluten, no dairy , no no .. so what should we eat????
If you eat chicken and fish then you can eat that for protein. If you are vegetarian, I have given suggestions for them too. Please watch full video for details.
AIP was absolutely horrible for me! I got sicker and sicker on it. Was way too much meat. I’ve been reading that a vegetarian diet or the Mediterranean diet is best for RA. You should actually reduce your meat intake aside from fish and beans/legumes are actually good for you.
When you were doing AIP, did you make sure to eat only grass-fed or pastured meat? The quality of the meat is one main reason some people don't do well on it. If you eat processed meat, then you are likely to have more inflammation.
@@Cook2Nourish yes, only the best beef from a friend’s local ranch or sometimes wild elk meat which is even better and I have less issues with. Meat is just not for me. I have started the Mediterranean diet, with mainly eating plant based meals, and already I’m doing better.
Do you think a positive RAF of 21 with Negative ACCP or C-Reactive protein can be treated as RA Seropositive? I am confused, please help.
That RA factor looks like borderline value. I think you will greatly benefit from the AIP diet. Check out my video on 'AIP and its benefits'.
@@Cook2Nourish Thanks a bunch. I will surely check it out.
You are so lucky you can reverse it now
Good
Can you share any indian vegetarian recipes you recommend?
You can check out my website www.cook2nourish.com for vegetarian recipes using quinoa. Otherwise I don't post a lot of vegetarian recipes.

Hello Chechi!...
This is Deepthi from India. Thank you very much for sharing this information... I've eliminated all that you have mentioned and am fasting today (only water).. If you could please guide how helpful will this be? How will I come to know that my gut has healed?
And it's for 1 month that we have to follow this elimination diet and then introduce some of the things back.
I am on Leflunomide 10mg daily and methotrexate 2.5 weekly.
Diagnosed with RA 4 years back when I was 30 years of age post first delivery.
I recommend doing it for at least 3 months or until you begin to feel better - symptoms wise.
@@Cook2Nourish Thank you for your prompt reply chechi...
Where will I get a list of all the things that I can consume while healing my gut?

Strict AIP Vegan diet has helped me considerably. Gradually I added rice and soaked cummin seeds, which proved to be ok. Please guide about what Indian vegetables fall under AIP? Bitter melon, drumsticks, or any other names. Thanx.
So glad to hear that! Bitter melon and okra (bhindi) are ok. Doodhi is ok too! Drumstick is a legume because of the seeds in it. You can try it though after a little while.
Thank you🙏
What all diet did u follow mam. Can u share it. My husband suffers from soft tissue rheumatism
Hi! I have just come across your video! So no rice, even brown rice?
yes all grains have to be avoided initially.
One more question Indiraji, while making Kanji, mustard seeds are put. Are they ok if seeds are eliminated from diet?
You can avoid the mustard seeds and just add the rock salt. But mustard seeds are ok for most people after doing strict aip for a month.
Thank you for clarification!
Hello,
It seems like the AIP diet includes cruciferous vegetables.
Shouldn't cruciferous vegetables be excluded if one has a slow thyroid? Thank you
Hello, cruciferous veggies are a problem only for hypothyroid folks and that too only if they are eaten raw. There are lots of other autoimmune diseases where cruciferous veggies are not an issue - they are actually beneficial for healing and for getting rid of toxins from our body. Hope that helps.
Yeah I'd love to have a free bottle that for arthritis like a really bad
I'm having rheumatoid arthritis with CRP so I want to avoid proteins?
You only need to avoid vegetarian proteins like days and beans etc. You can eat fish and chicken.
@@Cook2Nourish OK thank you.
nice information lekin samjh nhi ata h kya ignore kre kya khaye.😔 garlic and raw kuch khane pr stomach pain problem hojati h.
Your symptoms suggest that you have some dysbiosis - that means there are some bad bacteria in your gut and good bacteria is low. SO avoid raw vegetables initially and eat only cooked. Work with a nutritionist or functional medicine practitioner to improve your gut health.
Hello I've just watched your video an was wondering if you could give me any recommendations in regards a child with ra we are gluten free dairy free and trying my best to eliminate sugar but don't think my 6 year old would be willing to try some of your dietary recommendations
You can use natural sugars that are AIP approved for making treats for your 6 yr old like coconut sugar, maple syrup and honey. I have lots of AIP dessert recipes on my channel here and also on my website www.cook2nourish.com.
@@Cook2Nourish thank you very much ☺
Use khandd, gudd, what do you mean your child will not be willing. You have to make it follow. You are the parent.
There's also dates, sultanas,. If you think there is a world of options available.

Sesame oil is okay?
