      yes they can. I recommend working with an AIP certified coach to make sure they get all their nutrients. As I mention in the video, AIP is not just about avoiding, it is about eating well too. Good Luck!

    Hi Indu, I love your channel and the recipes on your blog. I recently started meat after being a vegetarian my whole life, I do however, have concerns about weight loss on this diet. Do you have tips? I lost 10 lbs during the first two months of AIP, initially incorporated only fish. Now I eat most meats.

    • @Cook2Nourish
      @Cook2Nourish  3 года назад

      Yes definitely eat more of the starchy vegetables like sweet potatoes, cassava etc. Also add more of the good fats like avocados, coconut oil, olive oil etc. And I wouldn't worry about losing weight as long as you don't go underweight. If you really continue to lose a lot of weight, then it might be time for reintroductions! Adding nuts and eggs back(if successful) can help to add weight back on.

    Hi, thanks for the informational video. Referring to your slides showing list of food to be consumed, you have stressed on bone broth etc. Is there any alternate for vegetarians ?

    • @Cook2Nourish
      @Cook2Nourish  3 года назад +1

      Bone broth is great for healing leaky gut. For a vegetarian option, I usually recommend celery and other vegetable juices to heal the gut. If you are open to it, just having collagen peptides in water can also help.

      Since it's also an inflammatory condition, it's worth trying AIP. I don't have experience working with any clients with this condition but I would say definitely give it a try! Try it for a month and check your inflammation levels to see if it made any difference. Good luck and hope you feel better soon!

      I totally can relate! Being an Indian I had a hard time giving up rice too! However, it made such a difference to my healing that it was easier to avoid it. Now I have it occasionally but if I have out too much, I get inflammation! Check out my cookbook, AIP Indian Fusion - it has 1 month AIP meal plan and recipes!

    • @Cook2Nourish
      @Cook2Nourish  2 года назад

      Ghee is not allowed on AIP. However it is a Stage 1 food so you can try to reintroduce it as soon as you feel better on AIP. There is a process for reintroduction that you need to follow though. Check out autoimmune wellness.com for more info.

    So it’s basically impossible to do it as vegetarian… If I can’t eat legumes I can’t get my protein in…

    • @Cook2Nourish
      @Cook2Nourish  2 года назад +1

      Yes it is hard to do AIP if you are a vegetarian. I work with vegetarian clients on a 1:1 basis slowly adding the vegetarian proteins. Try to eliminate at least all the other inflammatory foods.

    Hi ,
    I've been doing AIP for last 6 month's at the start I felt great now it's just a slight improvement.
    I've also lost a lot of weight which I didn't need to do and wondering how do I now put it on

    • @Cook2Nourish
      @Cook2Nourish  3 года назад +1

      Then it might be time for reintroductions as I mention in my video. Also it might be helpful to work with a practitioner to dig deeper and identify any other foundational issues that need attention. Increasing starchy carbs and adding in enough healthy fats will help to keep the weight stable.

    "Try AIP. You have nothing to lose.." Except a lot of money. This is a very expensive dietary shift!!!

    • @Cook2Nourish
      @Cook2Nourish  Год назад

      I can understand why some people think that AIP will be very expensive since you are cutting out the cheaper grains and legumes. However, the focus is really on eating more vegetables. If you do some batch cooking, buy in bulk, etc you can save costs. Also cutting out all processed foods and not eating outside much can all result in cost savings where AIP ends up not being that excessive. Also, look at this as an investment for your health! I know so many people who spend $5 or more daily for a Starbucks drink. If you just cut that out, you save $150 monthly! The benefits you gain from AIP like better health, reduced medical and hospital visits totally make it worth it.
