Unrelated but I'm a huge FG player, been grinding for years and every 6-8 months I take a month long break from the genre to like, deep clean my house, organize stuff, play other games, etc. Every time I come back, there's a derusting period but my performance ceiling is always higher coming back to the game with a fresh head. Nothings worse than grinding a game you hate, because it's "what you do".
I took two weeks off from Pokémon and honestly I had the more motivated to play. The main reason I took a break because the deck I was maining wasn't as good an honestly I might just go back to the older build and enjoy Pokémon again.
