You left Skill Swap off the list of support moves that Spinda can use, and with its amazing ability of Contrary, it can pull off some really funny stuff in doubles. Then have Arcanine start spamming Close Combat and Overheat. Bro I was fully expecting a dishonourable mention for Glaceon because people bang on about how bad it is despite it being my favourite of the eveelutions. As a rule anytime I play Platinum I've got a Glaceon going to beat up Cynthia's Garchomp and more often than not just plain sweeping the E4.
Luvdisc has more utility (in icy wind and charm) and due to its higher speed(especially with a 97 speed under rain with swift swim)it could set it up more reliable than castform which has just attacking moves from bad offenses, castform does get tailwind but usually ur not benefiting that much as castform usually goes after his partner (due to its terrible speed of 70) meaning ur not gonna benefit in that turn from the tailwind effects due to the gen 8 dynamic speed change. As for Unown vs Ledian, yeah I agree unown should take the spot.
So I've had a castform rework brewing since basically gen 5: 1) add sandstorm form and give each weather form a modified stat spread (keep the 420 BST, but raise and lower to match the type). 2) give them a hidden ability called "Weather Report" where it automatically sets the weather based on its held weather stone. Basically remove the need to waste a turn activating its gimmick and let it jump straight into the game, like how Imposter fixed Ditto's major flaw. Let my guy go crazy!
lol i'd say go with Weather Report + a 30% buff to non-Atk stats in weather - leaving 252+ Castform a single point faster than stuff like Munkidori, lets it hit quite hard in Sun/Rain and allows it to be super bulky in Snow/Sand
Weather report like you said, but it sets the weather until weather change (exactlt how weather-setting abilities used to work), but keep its base stats garbage. This would give Castform a special lollipop dance, without making it an otherwise good Pokemon.
If gamefreak were to do this, they'd probably make this new ability a sidegrade, or at least not a direct upgrade to forecast. Maybe this version prevents castform from using weather variants not tied to their funny rock, regardless of how much the weather changes + ability does literally nothing if another item is used, so it's a token sidegrade but effective upgrade

Fixed damage, so no dragon stab; A place where bug types are so laughable that Psychic types have basically no weaknesses and can swipe the entire game (you get Abra early on) because... "Special" is a single stat for both SpAtk and SpDef, so special attackers get an enormous bulk in SpDef stat too; Focus Energy actually lowers your crit chance; Crit chance is calculated via speed difference, so a fast Pokémon will be a crit machine; Guaranteed hits can fail 1/256 of the times; And being paralyzed was actually a meta strat. Truly, one of the generations of all time. Today I just finished the pokedex for the first time via the mew exploit.

@j.b.5422 competitive was barely a thing back then, I think you're the one that's delusional because you're applying a sentiment that didn't even exist
personally a totally not serius buff, one that gamefreak could do just to troll, would be to give a signature ability to ledian that makes all punching moves hit 4 times. Yes, this would mean power up punch would give a +4 with each hit increasing in power. Ice punch gives you 4 10% chances to freeze in a row, etc
I would love this but MF's at GameFreak have no self control. You just know that 2 generations later they'd give that ability to something with normal stats and then we'll regret it.

For many years I've had a weird feeling that gen 3 was when they first started talking about changing the physical special split, but something hindered them from doing so. It feels like making everything a mixed attacker was a compromise more so than the original intention

8:12 for Castform they could add a changing stat spread depending on weather form. An Atk, a SpAtk, a Def and a SpDef form - whilst adding a sand form to get 4 total. For each form the opposite stats get halved and added on the corresponding stat + either hp or speed
i think a funny way to buff Pyukumuku(and Shuckle) would be to give it Body Press. imagine not being able to do anything as a smol sea cucumber sweeps your entire team in Trick Room.
Incin is the worst Pokémon ever. In the VGC and TCG. Nobody uses Incin. And those who do, are trolls and contrarians. I hope one day it gets a buff so it's not absolute garbage.
Bro did not just say that the best unaware toxic staller is the worst gen 7 pokemon. It is not Wobbuffet. It's Block+Soak+Toxic+Recover+L+Ratio. It's used even in OU and can Spite stall other defensive pokemon. Hell, even with Innards Out, it can bluff Unaware to force setup sweepers out, and whether it works or not it can do custap+berry pain split to cheese things. Komala isn't that bad either. It is literally the opposite of how you describe it. It can abuse Swords Dance or Choice Band, be a utility mon with Rapid Spin and Wish Passing, or work as a pivot with assault vest U-Turn in the lower tiers. It can even do some more bizarre things like Bulk Up or Belly Drum. It's not great but it's not like Gumshoos is winning any awards. Even if detective mongoose has a funny gimmick, it's really not worth using in ZU. I'd also argue Carbink is more useful than the likes of Meowstic-F or Gogoat. From Smogon: "Carbink is the very definition of a fantastic Trick Room lead. With access to Stealth Rock, Magic Coat, and Sturdy, Carbink nearly guarantees Trick Room's setup. In particular, Explosion allows the conservation of limited Trick Room turns for its offensive teammates to exploit, which keeps offensive momentum."

Beedrill is top tier design-wise. It's a classic Pokémon and it's just a little sad that by giving it a Mega-Evolution, they squandered their potential
In Gen 1 he existed to bully slow psychic types (slowbro and exeggutor) but notice how I said bully, not counter. You still had to get pretty lucky with your crits and confuse stat to do anything.
No, the worst is definitely metapod. It's actually way worse than Caterpie, as it's not living a hit anyway, so defenses don't matter, same with health. And Caterpie is both faster and stronger, irrc. Weedle is best of those four (Caterpie, metapod, kakuna, Weedle) as it hits hardest.
@@greenkitty1 Starting to think his list is honestly pretty bad. There's arguably a worse Pokemon in almost every generation over the ones he declared. I'd argue Magikarp, Metapod and Kakuna are ALL worse than Beedrill from Gen 1.
Surprised you didnt mention Unown for Gen 2, that thing has been complete unusable garbage that can only learn one single move and thus only have the same basic gimmick every time for every single generation that thing has been in
I see where you're coming from and honestly, probably like him, I forgot the thing even existed. When you see it though, you know it's bad, it's the gimmick to beat all gimmicks, it's barely even a pokemon, having closer ties to alphabet soup. Ledian had potential, I mean, look at that hidden ability! Iron Fists is a great ability, and it sucks despite that.
When you say that Genesect is the fourth worst pokemon in the franchise, I think you’re exaggerating a bit: it’s true that it’s a bug, and therefore this makes them WEAK, despite the lore, but I would make them fifth: Zacian is definitely weaker: *you need to hold an item to even make their gimmick work!!*. Come on, you can do better.
1:19 I feel like this part gets it a little wrong? I've seen people clear champions with Magikarp and a Ledian, so in that respect i do think anything is possible when you're a good trainer who's good at strategizing. I dunno
Oh, you can totally win with your favorite. But the worse your favorite happens to be, the more insane and elite it's teammates need to be to make up for it.

In the weakest possible format, where the only gen 1 pokemon avaliable are Caterpie, Weedle, Metapod, Kakuna, and Magikarp Ditto is one of those pokemon. And despite niches like STAB Struggle being the strongest in the tier, and being able to copy the opponent's Kakuna, is still considered one of the lesser options.
Spinda sticks out to me because not only is it weak but it's been victimized by ILCA and so it's either stuck in Home from Transporter or it's stuck in BDSP.
Niantic is guilty too because it’s the only Gen 3 Pokemon that can’t be transferred from Go to Home because of the same bug BDSP Spinda have, leaving an annoying gap in my POGO Dex in Home 🥲

Resuming his transformation...through means of Mega Evolution." -Hard cut to Mega Beedrill standing fully transformed while Raichu is in shock.
I feel like part of the issue with bug types is that they *are* early route mons meant for early in a playthrough. I remember an NPC or two pointing out how bug types evolve quickly -- that's meant to be the strength of bug types. You can easily get a third stage bug type mon before the first gym with minimal grinding a lot of the time. Maybe for mons like Beedrill, this is a matter of giving a third stage evolution the stats of a second stage evolution for the sake of having a semi-viable earlygame option you'd switch out later on.
Carbink is sleeper good for trick room because of the combination of sturdy+trick room+explosion/misty explosion. Sturdy enables you to either run mental herb so you ignore a taunt when trying to set up TR OR (my preferred) running HeavyDutyBoots so you can get an almost guaranteed trick room mid to late game when offensive pressure is up. I funnily use it most in ubers because it walls a lot of special attackers especially Yveltal. For singles but I don't see why those traits aren't good in doubles either.

Every Pokemon on this list, even ones considered for placement like Carnivine, deserve either a bag of tools (including abilities), an evolution, or raw stats. I don't understand why beedrill is lower than farfetched and especially onix. Have they had niches that weren't temporary because if not I think the sole existence of mega bee drill, even if it wasn't used in doubles, would make it more notable than the bird with a leak or a rock snake with unjustifiably low states
Onix is NFE and can at least (potentially) get some mileage out of the eviolite. Farfetch’d has better typing, and the leek item plus either focus energy or a high crit rate move means Farfetch’d can always get a crit in Gen 6 and later
Forget Onix and Farfetch'd. He put Beedrill lower than Metapod and Magikarp, lmfao. And if we're going by NFE (which I don't recall him specifying), he put Ledian below Unown, lmfao.

You left Skill Swap off the list of support moves that Spinda can use, and with its amazing ability of Contrary, it can pull off some really funny stuff in doubles. Send it out alongside Arcanine, whose Intimidate lowers the foes' Attack by one stage, then Skill Swap with it to give it Contrary and take Intimidate on Spinda, which activates it again. Then have Arcanine start spamming Close Combat and Overheat. And if Spinda somehow survives long enough, you can rob an opponent of their own strong ability and replace it with Intimidate...which thanks to Contrary now _raises_ Arcanine's attack! Dude, I had no idea ledian was S tier. I'm gonna have to rethink all of my teams.This man is a genius
Genuine questions:
1. How was gen 2 Ledian and not Unown?
2. How was gen 3 Castform and not Luvdisc?
Luvdisc has more utility (in icy wind and charm) and due to its higher speed(especially with a 97 speed under rain with swift swim)it could set it up more reliable than castform which has just attacking moves from bad offenses, castform does get tailwind but usually ur not benefiting that much as castform usually goes after his partner (due to its terrible speed of 70) meaning ur not gonna benefit in that turn from the tailwind effects due to the gen 8 dynamic speed change.
As for Unown vs Ledian, yeah I agree unown should take the spot.
@@dvdv4270 at least with unown you can drop an F to pay respects
@@dvdv4270i think coz unknown was never meant for anything outside of existing for lore

Luvdisc endeavor and whirlpool is a valid choice to eliminate big threats.
L take, you’re wrong (I haven’t watched the video yet)
So I've had a castform rework brewing since basically gen 5:
1) add sandstorm form and give each weather form a modified stat spread (keep the 420 BST, but raise and lower to match the type).
I like weather report
Weather report should turn other team to snail.

A generation where:
There's only a single Dragon type evolution line, home to that gen's pseudo-legendary, Dragonite, with the existence of a single dragon type move, dragon rage, which has... Fixed damage, so no dragon stab;
A place where bug types are so laughable that Psychic types have basically no weaknesses and can swipe the entire game (you get Abra early on) because...
"Special" is a single stat for both SpAtk and SpDef, so special attackers get an enormous bulk in SpDef stat too;
Focus Energy actually lowers your crit chance;
Crit chance is calculated via speed difference, so a fast Pokémon will be a crit machine;
Guaranteed hits can fail 1/256 of the times;
And being paralyzed was actually a meta strat.

Turn 1, Spidops would protect while Hat would use trick room. Turn Turn 2, Hat would use skill swap and give the opposing Pokemon magic bounce, then Spidops would use sticky web to put the web on its own side.Turns 3 and up, Kingambit & Wigglytuff cleaned up hard.
The funny thing about this team is that Spidops was actually the best sticky webber for the job. It was the only bug that was slower than Hatterene in trick room with access to sticky webs, and insomnia made it a perfect anti-lead for Amoonguss.

Every Pokemon on this list, even ones considered for placement like Carnivine, deserve either a bag of tools (including abilities), an evolution, or raw stats. Case-by-case depending on the mon, evolution partly depending on if the mon in question could get enough value itself just by having access to eviolite.
GameFreak should either give Carbink a Mega Evolution, or give it an evolution to more closely resemble its similarities to Diancie.
Not gonna lie the jujutsu Kaisen thumbnails be tough
19:07 that is the first Boondocks quote I ever heard on a poke vid
8:44 i just realized, saying "STAB bonus" is saying "same type attack bonus bonus" and i have pissed myself off by realizing that
I don't understand why beedrill is lower than farfetched and especially onix. Have they had niches that weren't temporary because if not I think the sole existence of mega bee drill, even if it wasn't used in doubles, would make it more notable than the bird with a leak or a rock snake with unjustifiably low states
Onix is a NFE (Not Fully Evolved) Pokemon and is great in Little Cup.
