Like I don't need to be told every week why Intimidate is a good ability or what a restricted pokemon is or why Smeargle was a menace with Dark Void. The videos are still awesome but it feels like they cater only to very casual players now and don't really go in depth anymore.

Flutter Mane is great because it is versatile while being strong, yet not absolutely broken, meaning that it doesn't need niche, direct counterplay to it. Xerneas is strong because it warps the entire game around it, meaning that you are required to create a counterplay against it, or you'll be eliminated. It's clear why Flutter won worlds while Xerneas hasn't.
I wish every eeveelution got "pixelate" but of their type because it seems very fitting and a free damage boost and stab on every normal type move is pretty strong and would help solidify their identity

I like how we started and ended the video with THE fairy type pokemon. When I think of fairy type, I think about the 2 pokemon that introduced the typing to us, aka Xerneas and Sylveon. And it’s funny how they held their title pretty darn well to these days with some amazing runs to their belt.
Just imagine how dominant would have been Magearna if mythical pokémon were allowed in vgc, great stats, the best type combination, amazing moveset and an ability that might be better than intimidate in doubles, probably a higher place than Zacian
Back when VGC was still played on XY, before ORaS Pokemon and Megas became legal, Sylveon was briefly tier zero broken as it got Hyper Voice and there were no counters for it. Before Sylveon got Hyper Voice, people had to run actual Fairy-type attacks on it or make it just a clerical Helping Hand user

Even with that, it would struggle to compete, theres only one thing that might give it an edge over rilla: bulu would also very much appreciate strong Fairy stab in play rough (or some new move)- it has nothing physical, similar to Koko, but it can't use its special attack stat to back it up like Koko can I could see it justifiably getting rage powder and/or follow me which would work very well at setting it apart and give it use too.
Yeah Xerneas would’ve been insane in SV. Tera Fairy for Fairy Aura + 2X STAB. Or Tera Fire to smash the Steels and Amoonguss that used to check you. Maybe Tera Steel to flip all your weaknesses. Oh, and it also got some great new teammates. Here’s Chi-Yu - it makes it hit even harder and smashes Steel types! And here’s Flutter Mane, it just loves the extra power boost!

The reason we don't have every legendary in scarlet and violet is because of tera fairy xerneas. Tapus also would be terrifying, especially tapu koko with all of its new friends.

Gen 1 Psychic quite literally had no counter play, at least Fairy is checked by two very relevant types (and Poison). It’s closer to Gen 2 Psychic which was still really strong even with the addition of Steel and Dark
Poison is my favorite Type, I will forever be grateful to Fairy for giving us a reason to exist as an attacking Type. Those beta leaks of the OG Fairy Type matchups were atrocious and I am VERY happy that they changed it.
Fairy type is so good that there was a 2016 Vgc archetype called fairy spam where Xerneas and Primal Groudon were paired with Slyveon and Mega Gardevoir to maximize fairy aura ability and pixilate hyper voice synergy damage. The other two pokemon were usually Smeargle and Floreges
My Sylveon that i got in Violet was the first fairy-type Pokémon I’ve ever gotten and I absolutely love her and took her into every gym in Violet because “fuck it, why not?” 😂

It’s think it’s for 2 reasons, one being that it’s generally more important to as many things as possible for neutral which fairy can mostly do (also having nothing immune to it), and the 2nd being that hitting dragons (the highest average bst) is really really good

It’s think it’s for 2 reasons, one being that it’s generally more important to as many things as possible for neutral which fairy can mostly do (also having nothing immune to it), and the 2nd being that hitting dragons (the highest average bst) is really really good
