If you’re frustrated with using Antidotes you can always bring Blue mushrooms in your bag with them to craft them between your encounters with Rathalos
On top of that I feel like I ought to say that if there’s an item you feel is essential to a hunt bring the mats for said items to craft them whilst out on the hunt.
This is especially true for ammunition; for the gunners reading this. Bring mats for the primary ammo type that you use so your damage values stay consistently optimal

honestly I'd expect a Monster Hunter before any of the monsters due to their sizes, but then again they added Ridley.

@@bongibot1104 The problem is: how would you include a hunter? I had the idea to have the different weapons replacing costumes, but it would be necessary to alter the moveset. So.... basically all the normal moves, the neutral B to have access to the different gimmicks like shooting with the gunlance and the final smash. Wyvernfire, Super Amped Element Discharge.... every weapon category has at least one ability for this, except for.... hunting horn.... and sword and shield. So you would have to make 14 new fighters. I guess including just one of them would be the best option, but imagine how the fans would react. They're already arguing about which weapon is the best.
Gnarfius Unicornis honestly that went through my mind as well, I'd imagine they'd be enough mad lads to have different wepaons with different armor sets as the skins, or more realistically they'd choose a classic weapon. My choice would be something unique to monster hunter, like the switch axe or kinsect glaive (not something like the great sword or sword and shield, simply because there's too many sword characters in Smash already). Or we could have a long sword hunter and have *another sword character* .

I wish silver Rathalos was in world because that thing is literally regular rath on crack. Shooting explosive fireballs from the Air then following up with a poisonous dive bomb it's terrifying.

You can edit your gear wheel to craft flash pods on the fly without having to resort to the pause menu. Great video, loving this series! Especially Tobi.
You should still bring some flashbugs if you have the space. In my loadouts i have both thunder and flash bugs, the former with trap tools to make spare shock traps and the latter for more flashpods.

If there is a Rathian in the area Rathalos will constantly retreat and ask for help to his waifu and because the little idiot is part of a health relationship they will fight together and make the entire 4k resolution of your monitor a hitbox, the only way to deal with this is to make shit passive agressive comments about them

This video was vary informative considering the fact that most people would just say “rathian but it flys more” but this video goes above and beyond. I would like to add that you can stunt his fire attack by smashing his head in, this breaks the flame sack in his head so it’s harder to produce the fire. Also the tail could save you from many stunlocks that will burn then poison you hit you like a truck with a tail swipe so after you break the parts you SHOULD spam flash pods when is is in the air only. Something I have noticed is that he likes to stay on the ground for a good min. or two so you can abuse him with your greatsword or hammer (that’s me)

I want a Dreadking Rathalos in world, make the new players experience true pain... I'm joking of course, although seeing new players attempt to flash Dreadking would be hilarious.
Unpopular opinion: Rathalos is my favorite monster. Many if the veterans I've played with hated him in previous games. The fact that he never lands and can poison you can be a pain. Plus his variations can track you with homing claw strikes. Using flashbombs was also far more expensive than flashbugs, not to mention his roar to fireball can one shot in previous games.
However despite all this he always remained one if my favorite fights when I started in MH3U. Although farming plates will always give me PTSD...

Loved that Dr strangelove soundbite as rath gets washed off the cliffe
Regarding the roar, if you roll right before the roar you will completely negate it, you can also roll through most attacks actually as long as they are quick, on top of that if you get stuck in the roar and are in front of him, just smash the dodge button and make sure your stick is away from him and he shouldn't hit you too much.
Also on a side note, if you have a great hornfly, some dragonite ore, coral crystals, and a flame sac from Rathian then you can make a king beetle head piece which will make the evasion window to dodge the roar slightly more forgiving.

PRO TIPS/REMINDERS!!! IMPORTANT!!!
1) Rathalos and Rathian DO NOT attack each other and purposefully AVOID attacking each other.
Note: Next tip is for both when fighting just a Rathalos and when fighting both Rathalos/Rathian, and am also speaking from experience.
2) Dont bother trying to bait any of the other BIG monsters to come help you (by getting into a turf war with them/it). They/it will pick up and toss it around like its nothing during the turf war and if it/they dont continue to attack/kill it and instead focus back onto you, you will just end up with 2.5 BIG heavy hitters to deal with at once (.5 since "the bait" will be greatly wounded/injured after fighting the dragon(s)).
2.5) If "the bait" shows up to the fight on its own, just RUN AWAY the MOMENT you see the "turf war" prompt appear (recommend going back to a camp as soon as you can to restock/resupply).
Depends... If you have Jho on the map (although admittedly that's not gonna happen during your first few encounters) he will mess up the Raths pretty badly. However, the disadvantage is that you will be in the same area as Jho....
True, and Bazelgeuse could probably mess the rath's up as well, but, like JhoJho, Bagel's high rank, but luckily, Bagel's much more common.
I'd assume only the apex monsters of each area could fight him and not get destroyed, stuff like the Blos's, Azure Los, BagelGoose, and Jho. Any other monsters either aren't found where he can spawn, like Odoggo or Legiana, or are too weak, like Angie or (Ahem) *TOBI KADACHI!*
Also, I haven't seen him show up in an elder dragon quest, or vice versa, so elders like Toaster or Weed Boy probably can't fight him, and AIDS dragon and My Little Kirin don't spawn where Los can.
However, if you see multiple strong monster ganging up on him, I suggest just watching, and not attacking, since you could easily die. I was checking out turf wars with 3 monsters, and it seems if there are 3 monsters fighting, 2 of them will work together to take out the weakest of the 3. Both an Azure Los and Bazel ganged up on a regular Los, and as I was fighting regular Los with them helping me, they didn't seem to attack each other too much (Only accidentally, like Bazel's bombs blowing Azure up, and him aiming at Los and hitting Bazel because Los moved), and even did very high damage to him, enough to make him limp after 10 or so minutes of them fighting. Of course, I could be wrong, but I hope it's true.

Actually, the Raths can deal damage to each other, but they don't go out of their way to attack each other. I was hoping for some kind of "bond" like with Luna and Teo.

Also another tip for dealing with poison is getting armor, gems, ir a charm that negates it. Early on I'd say a charm with a couple armor pieces that give poison resistance. Later on you can just upgrade the charm to level 3 for full resistance without armor pieces needed
