My first experience with Bazelgeuse was like this:
I was hunting a Barroth, followed it back to his layer, and then a Jyratodus came in and started fighting. Casual me thought, "oh this is gonna be awesom." I sat back, starting to watch the show. And then I see a shadow. And a bomb.
And then you were back at camp
I was fighting a uragann in the Elder Recess, my first words were “HI WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU”
Mine was similar but with rattan and rathalos.
Connor Porter ngl the first time I saw Rathalos I was hunting a Pukei Pukei, h ex dive bombed, made it run, then left
My first time was when i was hunting HR anjanath: he came by like: You are DEAD!!!

@Kyran Short it matters what build your on some slower builds will have a little more trouble with it and some quicker builds like dual blades and some range bills will sort of not have that much trouble so if you ask me I'm a longsword user I found it kind of easy but when I first played it did give me some salt.
@Kyran Short okay so I recommend you flash it then go to the juicy tail then cut it off but don't spend them left and right like a fool like Gabe says don't worry I actually had a lot of trouble because I was a great sword user back then and I didn't really take defense as a knowledgeable Pursuit

Honestly... out of all the Elders, Vaal is the easiest IMO. If you play it safe, you should be more than fine. Could have been interesting to have a special early repel quest to get hunters actually acquainted with elder dragons (no, I'm not counting Kirin because of how hidden that one is (yes, captures are easy but honestly nothing hinted at the end goal of that chain in low rank)).

Am I the only one who really loves how out of the blue and spontaneous b-52's appearances are? Like, I get that it's annoying sometimes, but he is just a monster that never gets old, you ALWAYS feel that terror and moment of gut wrenching panic when he shows up, whether your HR 12 or HR 200.
I really love the sound design. Really feels like an actuall living natural disaster, much more so than the elder dragons.
the fact that Bazel has gained the moniker of B-52 makes my aviator heart happy.

One of my favorite monsters to hunt.
I've hunted 16 and killed only 1 of them so far I think.
...I hunted over 140, because whenever I had an investigation where a Bazelgeuse was on the map, I always killed Bazelgeuse first.

I remember accepting a girros mission without realizing it was a capture quest. No problem though, just don't hit it too much, right? But then a bagel appeared right when I started hitting the gasy snake. So me and the snake ran, of course. I then tried to track down the girros... and found it being used as a chew toy by a deviljho. I used a flash pod desperately to that girros. When I finally found the girros again, it was in its nest... with a glowing bagel. I rushed to immediately put down a shock trap and gas bomb. I gave my all to save my new 'friend', because we have suffered through hell together.
..unfortunately, bagel and deviljho often show up together in gas map.
I lost my mind at the tobi cameo 😂
Bazelgeuse actually helped me hunt Kushala in Iceborne. We were able to keep him stunlocked for a really long time.

For anyone who isn't sure what its name is inspired by, i'm fairly certain it originates from "Betelgeuse", a star, and is the ninth brightest one visible from Earth's surface. It belongs to the Constellation Orion and is its second brightest star beaten only by "Rigel".

Extra little thing to mention from someone's who's had to grind the goose for the Gems for armor A LOT in the past ; Cutting off the tail is IMMENSELY helpful as the FIRST thing you do as it limits some of his explosive potential since he'll have less bombs. Personally I recommend insect glaive as it allows you to attack both wings relatively quickly in mid-air while going for the tail while letting you ignore all of his ground based mines.

The best part of Bazelgeuse is how it somehow seems to bring out the best in all the content creators. Think about the NCH nature documentary with RageGaming, the glorious retro introduction to this vid, or even having one of the all time best themes in Monster Hunter.

Gabe, I think you're getting there fairly good on these videos here. I do appreciate the longer the longer videos, that do noticibly feel like nice bits and references are in them. It did take a bit if waiting, I'm sure you know, but I do think that what you have here is worth a wait. Funny jokes, the return of TOBI KADAAAAAAAACHI caught me off guard and actually got me to spit Sprite all over, it was a good video by all stretches! Good on ya man, I like the work you're doing.
When are you going to do The elder dragons
Something to take note of. If bazel is in the area and you start fighting another monster, he/she will make a beeline to your location to begin carpet bombing. Good strat is to have dung pods pre loaded in your slinger and loosing one at the B-52 the moment it shows up.

Seriously you forgot deviljho, the elder dragons are much stronger than him. Also if Deviljho was already added in Monster hunter world at first release of the game, you'll encounter him before encountering any of the elder dragons. It just makes sense.
When I saw Bazelgeuse I thought it was one of those OG monsters from other games, cuz like it just seems so iconic and everyone talks about it so I just thought it was an OG y’a know ? And then I looked it up and realized it’s a newcomer from Monster Hunter World ! Honestly I’m quite shook lol
