I remember another game reviewer saying: Everyone loves monster hunter. They just have to stick around long enough to realize it.
I think that's from Boomstick Gaming's video about the weapons of MHW. A bit paraphrased but you got the point.
Honestly, very true. although I loved it at first some of my friends needed some convincing to stick around and those that did ended up becoming life long hunters like myself
I stopped playing for a while since it was very intimidating and hard for me. Quarantine came around and I ended up sinking 100 hours into the game no regrets
Queen_Bratz doom 2016 yes doom eternal no you gotta get good

That’s funny, because this game is still my go-to turn-my-brain-off game, even though I’m in the endgame, putting together armor sets with good skills and fighting against the toughest monsters there are.
Its my favorite way to relax. Lol

Heeey, it’s shammy!
That feeling when the monster you been struggling with starts limping.
The Rush, its amazing.
The moment Kirirn limped the first time, i went from: "Please god, don't cart me again. I used so many potions. I dont want to restart the Quest."
immediately to: "WERE ARE YOU GOING, BITCH!?" "THERE MAY COME A DAY FOR MERCY. TODAY IS NOT THAT DAY!"
that white ring appearing suddenly is both a breath of fresh air and the most motivation you'll ever feel in your life. but then the palico blows himself up
Kirin was the moment where i truly realised how exhilarating the feeling of a monster limping truly is. That feeling where you realise that this thing is not immortal, and you can, and will beat it. HR 49 was one hell of an experience to solo
It almost beats Proof of a hero moments, but those are instantly epic
Me with that one bear from mhp3rd

That took me more than fights and carts than i can remember. Took me a week to master that effin fight
I had that feeling when I was hunting Kulva Taroth, the sudden realization that it’s not escaping that time was insane
Finally someone who appreciates the simplicity of the charge blade
It's an easy weapon once you get it
My first monster hunter was Generations and I randomly chose chargeblade as my weapon(I also didn't research or practice with it). After shaming myself with some friends while hunting a Tetsucabra, I committed myself to mastering the weapon. Chargeblade is still one of my main weapons.

I hated it from the start, but by the time I started learning its patterns and winning, it felt GOOD. Needless to say, I look forward to the day I master that hunt.
5:21 - 7:32 THIS. I started backing with MHFU (2nd Generation), and I kept coming back again and again. Because this is the core of Monster Hunter.
You don't kill Monsters, nor do you defeat them, you HUNT them. Learning their move-set, their weakness, their habits; setting up your traps, or prepping for a hunt, or making a better build; being rewarded for new Equipment you earned, or a skillset you honed to perfection, or knowledge about the Monster.
You are the Hunter, and you are what makes this came so perfect; it's rare for a game to have this level of perfection and engagement in its Gameplay (Witcher 3 is the closest I've gotten).
This is the first thing I taught my friend who’s new to MH
You are not doomslayer, you are not Dante, not some hero of legend or protagonist of a fantasy novel, you are a hunter, and you are here to HUNT, not to kill or to get a good fight, you are here to hunt

He is a true hero
The advice at 1:46 is literally on point. The first thing I did when I played MHW was spend the next couple hours in the training area before I decided which weapon to main
"But what really keeps me coming back... is that special feeling you get, when you finally... Master a Fight!" Had me shaking thats my exact feeling its such a rush a beatiful interpretation of why i love this series so much it made me get the FIRST mh game released
That part was epic
I started with 3U hated it at first. Later I decided to get 4U and I loved it. I later realized the charm of the old games. So I totally get what he said. I just didn’t get that it’s not about numbers
That whole "you're always improving" segment with the epic music gave me the chills. Never before has something resonated so true with me. By now, 100% completion is several hundred hours behind me, but it's always the promise of improvement that draws me back in, and that a monster who is one-shotting me will one day be flailing on the ground like a little baby.
Especially when he said "this is what I love about Monster Hunter". Had the exact same thought.
That segment alone would make me recommend this video to people wanting to get into the game.
As someone who spent 5+ hours being absolutely demolished and destroyed by Alatreon on day 1 (as in when he released), and now has just about 50 successful hunts where I can solo him realibly easy, it is very accurate yeah. I now love the fight and nobody can understand me as I keep feeding my Alatreon quota to one day reach 100 Alatreons killed. To think I was crying like a baby of how much abuse I was taking on those first 5 hours...
Totally get that feel. That time when I grinded a Rathian (or Rathalos?) for parts for a Dragonmainden Axe, and went from "This is a tough fight that takes a lot of resources and like 25 minutes" to "Didn't even need to heal once, chopped off its tail in the first encounter, broke every bone in its body, it didn't even have the time to run back to its nest, I am king of this fight!" was seriously magical.

I keep coming back to watch this on occasion because it really encapsulates the feeling of playing monster hunter. The chargeblade bit is so real. I picked up this game on a whim bc it was on sale, with absolutely 0 idea what the game was about, and chose to main chargeblade bc it looked cool. I played probably 80 hours before I realized you could charge up the sword and shield 🙃🙃🙃
This game is really good at making you feel that you are bad at everything. I'm 40 hours in and barely know how to use 2 of the weapons. I learned how to (mostly) use chargeblade by figuring out what buttons i need to spam in order to do damage, used dual blades and realized that I'm not satisfied with my ability to do damage with them, and I'm in the process of adopting the bow and longsword, but the longsword's attacks are too complex for my smooth brain to understand and i need to know how to use a bow as I am tired of trying to reach flying monsters with my chargeblade. Although it is satisfying that the more you die, the better you become at not dying to each particular monster. Maybe after 300 hours I could even be good at the game.
@@marcinmisiek768 you should pick a weapon class and stick to it longer. chargeblade does have tools to deal with flying enemies you just need to find them. Personally I used switchaxe for entire story and iceborne and a bit beyond, all the way through, with no other weapon. There's no need to hotswap, focus on mastery over versatility.

@@accelerat3447 it's a shame a lot of people treat the weapon like a rocksteady ZSD simulator c:
My MHW veteran friend sat down with me and explained how to use the charge blade properly - and I still dont know how to use the fucking thing.
Why can’t I stop rewatching

I had taken a break from mhw for quite some time now
Seeing this part made me instantly go back and play, no joke
For real tho
That part should become mhw trailer
What's the name of the song he use at that part?? I love it but I always forgot the name of the song

@@fenriz2782 its called “Nay, the honor is all ours!”
Thanks for the vid. I laughed so hard watching this. The humour and tips like that speeding up menu. I didn't know that. I remembered when fighting tempered elder dragons that I think I hit a wall, I almost quit this game. Then I practice and practice on solo and it became easy. Same with Alatreon which I enjoyed fighting because of his moveset.
omg i was dead
This really made me laugh and cry at the same time. Good vid
I love how hits feel and sound. The impact
