Besides the fact that this is one of the most beautiful bowls I’ve ever seen, I’m more amazed at how you came up with the idea of making it from a flat piece of wood. I’m in awe, plain and simple.
The other sound is the high pitched nervous whine I make when I see what is essentially a 16" saw blade spinning free in the air inches from his wrist. I know, I know, pros know what they are doing, and the piece is stunning. Still, I was relieved when the spinning stopped.
I absolutely love how this build comes together into a deep bowl after starting with a flat square of wood. So little went to waste to make it, and it's beautiful!
Each wood variety has a unique sound, and this bowl is not only beautiful, it's musical. I would highly recommend earbuds for the full experience. It's wonderful.
I don’t understand.... how can this have 4 dislikes? This is amazing! Who are these people that go through videos like this and still give it a thumbs down? What is wrong with you people? This is incredibly beautiful, artistic, and craftsmanship on a whole other level!!!!
Sir, you are not a wood turner, you are an artist. You have a creative mind and the ability to turn those ideas into some of the most beautiful pieces I've ever seen.
That was such a creative and elaborate method to create a very unique and beautiful finished product. Your attention to detail is out of this world. Thanks for sharing.
A master Turner at work! As a self educated wood Turner I just stated with segmented bowls. You are inspiring me to try out more 😀 Thanks for sharing 😊
Hi Andy, that looks like another amazing project, A beautiful piece of art, you must be proud of that. Keep up the good work stay safe, Phil from the Moulin in France.
Hi Andy... really beautiful bowl... the wood choice was spot on... I liked the jig .. it seems to work really well... great video.. take care...All the best.....Andy
It is amazing how you can glue wood together, cut it, glue it back together in a different way, and then turn it into a beautiful bowl. Your mind’s eye is very powerful.
That's pretty. My grandpa taught woodworking at a high school for years and used to make stuff like this. I wish he had a video collection so we could go back and see his wood working.
You know, sometimes I watch you and think "Of course. That is simple enough." While other times I have to watch it several times before I can figure out how you did it. This one i may have to watch several times! Brilliant!
I don't think I've seen any kind of project done with less waste material and unique design that has been cut and turned and is functional that started from scrap not wasted to begin with. Well done.
Andy...brah.... I just don't have any words and all I can do is nod my head, with a slight smirk, thinking...beauty in simplicity. What I'm loving even more about the video of this piece? The subtle little time edits\shifts you threw in to it...like a drum fill. I've been watching your vids for awhile now and this one, imo, is the best yet. A pint o'mothers milk for you good Sir (Guinness, for those that are not aware). It's been a joy watching you become Shokunin before our eyes.
Oh wow, this is absolutely stunning! I wasn't sure about the square corners on the top at first but they look great. I would have made it circular only because the uniqueness/unusual-ness of the shape distracts a little from all the beautiful wood textures but that is purely a personal preference, it looks incredible with or without. Bravo! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Where does your talent and skills end? Again genius. Think this has to be my favourite item ever, out of all the wood turning videos I watch, yours has to be my favourite, you never disappoint. 🤩
Everyone has pretty much said it all. This is indeed a strikingly beautiful art piece. What I find most noticeable is the optical illusion of a board telescoping away from the top. Quite remarkable. Well done.
Now that is GENIUS. So little waste, and from such a relatively small amount of wood, fantastic. More turners should do this, I watch a lot of turning channels and the wastage always bugs me. LOVE THIS! 😍😍😍🤯
What wouldn’t I give for just a tiny fraction of your creative vision, let alone skill! Astoundingly beautiful piece, sir.
Thanks

Exactly, i like your comment ❤️
Yea
Seriously. Well done.
That sound you hear ? Thousands of geometry and wood shop teachers standing and clapping 😀 Beautiful 👍🏻👏
The other sound is the high pitched nervous whine I make when I see what is essentially a 16" saw blade spinning free in the air inches from his wrist. I know, I know, pros know what they are doing, and the piece is stunning. Still, I was relieved when the spinning stopped.
Some magicians use wands. Andy uses wood glue. Genius!
There seems to be no limit to your engineering skills... You must have a three dimensional mind! Very nice again Andy!
Thanks
I absolutely love how this build comes together into a deep bowl after starting with a flat square of wood. So little went to waste to make it, and it's beautiful!
Man, I could watch wood-turning videos forever. Fantastic
Fantastic. Absolutely fantastic.

Jealousy, pure and simple.
@@patriciaborron94 You might be right, just doesn’t make sense to me. I guess people just don’t have a life.
The amount of precision to line up the edge of the white stripe with the base of the bowl exactly is crazy to me and so satisfying
Excellent work!
ROLSON clamps from B&M, got to love them.
A simple, elegant design using the power of maths. Excellent.
I have always been surprised by your rich imagination. You do amazing things.
Simply stunning. One of the best pieces you’ve created so far.

It's impressive how precise everything fit together.
Nice bowl. Had me hyptionzed as looking in when spinning. Now tell me anything and I will obey. Lol
What a beautiful choice in stock. It’s unbelievable how the intricate design tricks the eye.
How did you line them up so perfectly. The pieces don't even seem to have ever been separated. Incredible!
What a crazy idea, i like the woods you choose.
What was the angle on the bandsaw when you cut the pieces?
Beautiful Mr. PHILLIPS....what a treasure u have. A bowl made for royalty!!! Thank you for this presentation
Out of all your pieces, this is my favorite.
This has tobe one of the best I have seen on RUclips. Very less waste and maximum yield from the wood. Just brilliant!
It is only expected that when you begin with the most beautiful of woods that the finished product will be amazing, what a very clever man you are!
Bloody hell! You've outdone yourself Andy; this is ingenius and beautifully executed.
