Man, this ain't bad. Not what I've come to expect from a lot of remakes. Kudos to these guys, those face models look great, and the VO is actually on point.
They should definitely release this demo on Steam if they are interested in more feedback. Meanwhile, I used that quadcode at the end of this video to tell them how much I hated that de-centered camera. Give me centered one like in the originals, thank you.
If they will keep progression as it was in the original, I will love this game. I really liked that: +1 to strength = +1 damage. Your damage was strength + weapon damage.
As a big gothic fan, I love everything I see, very much looking forward to this. Agree that looting animals needs to be faster, original had instant loot.
If they would make it so when you press A to pick an item in fight mod, you would accidentally hide sword during fight to pick up an apple. It should change to hold to pick up in fight mode, that should work.
As an old hardcore Gothic 1/2 fan, it brings almost tears to my eyes with what i see. Everything about that remake is amazing. The graphics, characters, voices, feeling and atmosphere is amazing and 100% true to the original. And i love how they added some extra things and details to make the world even more dense and real without ruining the original. Just a few nitpicks. The looting animation is indeed not necessary. And the camera centered to the side of our character is a bit annoying. Also the targeting/fighting animation and how the character moves some times, looks a bit clanky for an Unreal Engine 5 game. It definitely needs some more work. I would prefer they kept an option for the gamer to choose the original fighting controls and a centered camera view. Anyways thank you THQ!!! I am buying this day 1.
Yes, that's true. In a German interview, they said that they wanted to expand the original world in a logical way. So in the exchange camp, where the demo and the game start, there is now a warehouse for the exchanged goods and sleeping places for the guards. And that's basically what they've done everywhere in the world. They've stayed true to the original and expanded on the many gaps that the original had.
@@tazn1 makes me wonder what they will do with that one random bandit camp. It's not used for any quest and has a large group of bandits in it, armed with longbows.
yeah i dont think character creation is a necessity at all for a true RPG, its like saying witcher isnt an rpg because you play as geralt, set characters can be just as fun!
i like how u have to hide your weapon before u loot, like gothic 1 , i dont want to change it, imagine if u fight few things and there is loot on the ground then your characters hides his weapon and the enemy keeps attacking u then u have to put it out again...
Yup, Cohh criticised it, but I genuinely think separating fighting stance from normal walking around is the best approach. Especially so since we get four seperate attack inputs to stay as true as possible to the original.
I think it is. I think they chose him as the main character here because the original english voice actor was over the top, and they needed to show this time the voice acting will be done right. 😂
They should make it to where this is the "tutorial" of the game and then at the end of the tutorial this guy dies and the unnamed hero comes falling in lol
This is the character that joins the Sect Camp, is tasked to bring he Almanak to Kor Kalom and gets mugged by black goblins and than has to escort you to the cave and later shows you where the orc cemetery is. The tagline is "The Novice Nyras knows the way"
Ok, they really need to change attack mode, exploration mode, not able to loot stuff while weilding a sword kind of stuff. I mean I get it in real life but this is a video game and I don't need accurate interactions, I'm trying to escape real life not simulate it in a video game.
I disagree. It was like this in the original and it was brilliant. You don't walk around with your weapon out all the time anyway. Friendly NPCs would be angry with you if you were to do that.
What's so cool about the Remake is that the dying sound you make is exact the same sound from the original.

Yeah, you pickup some weed from him. LOL

@@Karadjordje-rb9ms No joke, i think they made Nyras the playable character in order to let players know that the voice acting will not be the same. 😅

After he just ran in and got surrounded, like the guy told him not to do lol

Well this was a pleasant surprise
The remake is already using certain areas more than the original.

For people that want character creation:
This is more of a Storygame than a Roleplaygame

omfg, they really put the effort into this remake.
I wonder if it is the same Nyras as in G1 when u get the focus stone for Y Berion hmm :D

any news for release date?
I’m not a fan of the fisheye effect on the screen. Where it gets darker closer to the edge of the screen.

This guy might have some relevance later on.
no save a take it
or is he restarting cause of the fight?

You got that wrong. Nyras is the guy who goes mad, who you meet with at the focus stone location above the sect camp.
The novice you're talking about is called Talas. Nyras is whom @rambusinek describes.

This looks and plays way worse than the original, this will be a flop. Cant imagine how acrobatics look in this version.
