I am not fan of the button for interaction being shown everytime you focus on something interactable. Only light highlight should be fine, though with high detail models and more uninteractible stuff it might need to be highlighted well the button feels weird. Also is the button sometimes F or A? The combat also looked fairly easy, you two shooter the molerats, but its hard to say if that was because they gave you a better sword from exploring the pond. I like the idea of not knowing what skills can you learn, that sounds fun. The torch interactions looked good and the atmosphere was practically spot on. Perhaps still too cherfull and bright?

Wow, fives me such a Risen 1 vibes, one of best RPG I've played, it was exactly like this, bit wooden and dated in many ways like graphically it was technologically like 7ish/10 but lighting engine was so nice just like in here, plus music again like in here is really atmospheric in the same way and combat in R1 was so satisfying dunno how it's gonna end up in here but looks maybe promising Ps. No we don't need to loot while in combat button, just gives it more immersive flow, maybe give it as an option in the menu or hide the weapon when pressing the button but nah bother...
This is also making me excited for Outward 2. I think I'm also as excited for the Outward 2 OST. The music from the first game and it's DLC's is SO GOOD.
@@collinnunez8054 They said they might release it before launch as a demo or after the launch as a modding example(since this demo was entirely created with the modding tools)
Someone once compard the OG Gothic movement and player controls to operating an digger excavator lol The OG Gothic and Gothic 2 would be such good playthroughs tho, hope Cohh covers them sometime soon
I think the demo is really great, Alkimia has almost convinced me, so far I like almost everything! However, as a "hardcore fan" you also have to address a few things that you personally would have seen differently, here are a few examples: - The "writing effect" is missing when a quest is added or updated - If you want to loot a chest or other things, it takes too long and is out of sync and looks strange. - This “always wanting to start” when you just want to walk looks very strange (looks like he's sprinting to one spot and getting no further) - Sticking the torch on the ground is cool, but the way it's done looks weird and unfinished - Too much blood in battle and it falls uncontrollably - The inventory looks too digital...like Elex, could be a little more transparent, or like Gothic classic, with leather and silver (menu) that suited this game well - The camera, the character is permanently on the left side, that's not a "God of war" I don't understand the meaning behind it if the original isn't like that. Character should be centered - Maybe not many people see it that way, but I don't think the magic barrier is particularly good-looking, it looks like an ice dome with lightning, I think it can be made more beautiful, it's the main part of the game (which should always show you that you are trapped, always be visible and correspond to that: more epic, better looking, more powerful - too sunny, in the Gothic classic, even when the sun was shining it was always hidden by clouds and barriers, it was gloomy in the mine valley even when the sun was shining - Conversation Dialogues that you can choose, in the remake it looks too modern, I think it would be better like before, with "used leather", matching the "Gothic style", in a box where everyone is among each other, like in the "Gothic Classic" - (Finish Move, coup de grace) still needs to be improved, it still looks very unfinished: sound and movement, Gothic classic, it was very epic when you gave someone the coup de grace - I also think the mana and life bars are too modern, like in Diablo, can't you keep it like before? A normal life bar on the left and mana on the right ("Isoteric life bar" doesn't seem very appropriate) - Archery crosshairs need to be changed, it looks like it's from a bad FPS shooter - Blue "light balls" in the swamp camp, in the remake everything is full of normal candles, the blue made the camp more mystical Looking forward to the remake! and to the music of Kai!
*I hope the devs paid attention to Cohh's commentary.* Allow a jump with weapon out, perhaps a attack with skill for it. Allow one-handed weapons to work with torch in off hand. _It's understandable that you can't hold a torch with two-handed weapons._
It does, recently they updated on steam Gothic games with latest available community patches and even added workshop support for mods to make it easier for the Players.
For a dude who plays so many RPGs, what's weird is Cohh thinking Q and E as an attack is weird. If they're not for strafing, they're for 'special' attacks in a majority of RPGs and MMOs.
I wish they'll fix the annoyingly floaty MC movement and animations, but apart from that, it looks kinda good. Much better than I thought, I was expecting it to be yet another DA4 treatment type of deal
"Do you know the original was kinda jank and we loved it for it?" Well, tbf, Cohh, the original had amazing voice work already. Especially for the time. ESPECIALLY in German. So yeah... that tracks :D
You know Cohh, if they did what you said... when you want to loot something that it would take you out of combat mode, then you'd complain that your character is looting while you're trying to fight!! Like I have heard you do so many times. Maybe they don't have a system in place (yet?) that can fix that issue.
I realy hope, the looting animation can be speed up with a skill or something. As it may look nice, tho if you are looting etc 4+ monsters/corpses it will be a bit annoying time sink or is it only me?
Well, it's not a two handed sword to begin with. It's just that in Gothic inexperienced characters hold even one-handed weapons with two hands until their skill improves. And then the way they handle the weapon changes AGAIN as they reach mastery.

WHEN IS IT GONNA BE A FULL GAME???
Wow, fives me such a Risen 1 vibes, one of best RPG I've played, it was exactly like this, bit wooden and dated in many ways like graphically it was technologically like 7ish/10 but lighting engine was so nice just like in here, plus music again like in here is really atmospheric in the same way and combat in R1 was so satisfying dunno how it's gonna end up in here but looks maybe promising
Ps. No we don't need to loot while in combat button, just gives it more immersive flow, maybe give it as an option in the menu or hide the weapon when pressing the button but nah bother...
Is the OST the original one? Or its remake also it?
Can i play the Demo?
This is also making me excited for Outward 2. I think I'm also as excited for the Outward 2 OST. The music from the first game and it's DLC's is SO GOOD.
Is there any signs that it won't be boring as 1st one?
I played the demo 3 years ago and it's still not released. Gothic was and is my all time favorite game.
The "concept" demo released 3 years ago has basically nothing to share with this remake at this point.
@@TucoBenedicto can we play this demo ourselves?
@@collinnunez8054 They said they might release it before launch as a demo or after the launch as a modding example(since this demo was entirely created with the modding tools)
Someone once compard the OG Gothic movement and player controls to operating an digger excavator lol
The OG Gothic and Gothic 2 would be such good playthroughs tho, hope Cohh covers them sometime soon
I think the demo is really great, Alkimia has almost convinced me, so far I like almost everything!
However, as a "hardcore fan" you also have to address a few things that you personally would have seen differently, here are a few examples:
- The "writing effect" is missing when a quest is added or updated
- If you want to loot a chest or other things, it takes too long and is out of sync and looks strange.
- This “always wanting to start” when you just want to walk looks very strange
(looks like he's sprinting to one spot and getting no further)
- Sticking the torch on the ground is cool, but the way it's done looks weird and unfinished
- Too much blood in battle and it falls uncontrollably
- The inventory looks too digital...like Elex, could be a little more transparent, or like Gothic classic, with leather and silver (menu) that suited this game well
- The camera, the character is permanently on the left side, that's not a "God of war" I don't understand the meaning behind it if the original isn't like that. Character should be centered
- Maybe not many people see it that way, but I don't think the magic barrier is particularly good-looking, it looks like an ice dome with lightning, I think it can be made more beautiful, it's the main part of the game
(which should always show you that you are trapped, always be visible and correspond to that: more epic, better looking, more powerful
- too sunny, in the Gothic classic, even when the sun was shining it was always hidden by clouds and barriers, it was gloomy in the mine valley even when the sun was shining
- Conversation Dialogues that you can choose, in the remake it looks too modern, I think it would be better like before, with "used leather", matching the "Gothic style", in a box where everyone is among each other, like in the "Gothic Classic"
- (Finish Move, coup de grace) still needs to be improved, it still looks very unfinished: sound and movement, Gothic classic, it was very epic when you gave someone the coup de grace
- I also think the mana and life bars are too modern, like in Diablo, can't you keep it like before? A normal life bar on the left and mana on the right
("Isoteric life bar" doesn't seem very appropriate)
- Archery crosshairs need to be changed, it looks like it's from a bad FPS shooter
- Blue "light balls" in the swamp camp, in the remake everything is full of normal candles, the blue made the camp more mystical
Looking forward to the remake! and to the music of Kai!
Right there with you for the Gothic games. Played it any times and will play the remake!!
I have to say I've never plaid the original Gothic but I'm waiting for this one or do you think it'll be better to play the original one first Cohh?
Ok, so he may not be the main character we re gona play. Anyway, I am so hyped for it, it really feels like Gothic!
Did he launch it from steam?😧
*I hope the devs paid attention to Cohh's commentary.*
Allow a jump with weapon out, perhaps a attack with skill for it.
Allow one-handed weapons to work with torch in off hand.
_It's understandable that you can't hold a torch with two-handed weapons._
@@gerarderloper even in the original you can't handle one handed weapons properly with one hand until your skill gets decent enough.
@@TucoBenedicto yeah maybe that is it.
"OH NO! OH GOD!" lol 🤣
Watching this makes me want to play the original again. I don't even know if it would run on windows 10.
It does, recently they updated on steam Gothic games with latest available community patches and even added workshop support for mods to make it easier for the Players.
It will but nevest cpu will perform worse on it(pref differ about 20% + no improvements be backported)
"Do you know the original was kinda jank and we loved it for it?"
Well, tbf, Cohh, the original had amazing voice work already. Especially for the time. ESPECIALLY in German. So yeah... that tracks :D
According to what we saw in Black Myth, The Witcher 3 next gen and Cyberpunk, this game can have much better light and shadows! And this game need it!
You know Cohh, if they did what you said... when you want to loot something that it would take you out of combat mode, then you'd complain that your character is looting while you're trying to fight!! Like I have heard you do so many times. Maybe they don't have a system in place (yet?) that can fix that issue.
Looks amazing!
i cant wait for it to come out... it was a fun game back then
Gothic is the Morrowind as Dragons Dogma is to Dark Souls.
Gothic > than tes and publisher idea to compete with tes4(g3 aren't supposed to be such big) killed the series.
Hopefully they fix the bluring when looking around. It causes motion sickness. 🤢
imo the original is to this day the best rpg beside its flaws... this remake could go VERY big in the rpg community!
My first PC Game ever..and one of the best
As I saw in part 2 when he leveled up his weapon skill he could loot in combat, that was not true to the original but I don’t mind at all
How do i download this?
System requirements for gothic remake ? Thx
TBA.
But since it's UE - don't expect them to be low, especially gpu
Ufff, I'm not on board with the voice of the main char! I still hear in my head the OG voice!
Played all the Gothic games, and both Elex games ,cant wait for this one of the best games ever.
I realy hope, the looting animation can be speed up with a skill or something. As it may look nice, tho if you are looting etc 4+ monsters/corpses it will be a bit annoying time sink or is it only me?
Why is the camera so off to the side? Also the hero doesn't look close to the original
I don't like the design of the character but otherwise i'm stoked
The character you play in this demo is not the nameless hero it's nyras and the demo is somewhat of a prequel
Weilding a two-handed sword, and expecting to be able to hold a torch. Hmmmmm.
Well, it's not a two handed sword to begin with. It's just that in Gothic inexperienced characters hold even one-handed weapons with two hands until their skill improves. And then the way they handle the weapon changes AGAIN as they reach mastery.
one of the best games ever made
to be fair there was no combat looting in the OG
