Merry Bridgemas! 16:20 Blame the French. Mirepoix (meer-pwa) is a foundational vegetable blend of onion, celery, and carrots in a 2:1:1 ratio, found predominantly in French derived cooking techniques. Variants include a white mirepoix subbing parsnip for carrots and the New Orleans centric "Trinity", where green bell peppers can be used in place of carrot.
2:10 Britain: "Lol, why do Americans call it an eggplant? Does it lay eggs?" Also Britain: "🚀" (There are valid etymology reasons for both, and it's fairly interesting stuff, if relatively useless knowledge.)
As funny as it seems that's actually what it's called here. I wasn't aware there was any other name, I just assumed the whole English speaking world called it rocket. I'd never heard of the other name either.
Latin Eruca vesicaria: arugula is the Italian name lazily evolved from the latin used by Italian immigrants to New York; roquette is the French name, lazily evolved in a different direction from the Italian, then adopted by the English to "rocket"

I've heard of the Trinity before (thanks, Babish), but I've never heard of white mirepoix. Is that a regional thing like the Trinity?
10:49 actually they do. If you notice it says input 30 already even without a truck or road. 😂

I hope this comes back when the full game is out
Rocket is cool. I probably would have eaten a lot more salads if my parent fed me rocket salads.
Arugula/Rocket is pretty bitter. And this is coming from someone who can eat bitter melon 😂 I'm not sure the taste would be worth the cool name
The amount of games I’ve discovered because of this channel is insane!!

It's a type of lettuce, small and nutty. We call them Rucola here, they have too many names due to people butchering the local names.
Just had to go listen to the entire 18 minute ear bleed that is on Spotify. Great music talent

It's known as rocket there because growing it is the closest you'll ever get to having a successful space program.

At least it wasn't to DangerouslyFunny extremes. Nobody should go that far. Except for maybe spiff.
