If they still have a use to the place, they would pay you to go and get waste out of their hands. But, they're selling the entire estate, so they want you to buy what's left of their trash.
Near me, if you deliver it yourself, they pay you. If you have them pick it up, they take a fee out of the amount they would have paid you. If the pickup fee is more than what they would have paid you, then you pay them the difference. So I can kinda see where he's getting confused. Kinda.

Not to mention if the refuse is "dirty" and not "clean" it doesnt go into the machine to be processed at all... all that grease and food trash left on recycleables? Straight to the dump.
