As someone who once worked Casino Security, your design theory isn't far off of reality. However they do want the cashiers at the back so you have to walk past everything even after you're ready to leave. You also want a large number of wait staff so that patrons don't have to leave their machines.
It was also odd to me that the cage and the cashier were so far from each other. I'm a dealer not security but wouldn't it be a logistical nightmare getting the drop through everything and then downstairs?
@maximelepage7664 If you went to a casino in the U.S and asked to speak to the blackjack croupier you'd get laughed at but yes: croupier is the French word for dealer correct.
There's also "come" and "don't come" bets and a fuck ton of other juvenile jokes. I'm a card dealer and terrified of dealing craps (it's regarded as the hardest game to deal because of the sheer amount of math) but my husband deals everything and is now a pit boss and I sat in on his craps school to see if I'd be interested in learning and it was 99% Teacher: the come bet Everyone else: *dead* I love this game it reads like it was designed by a 12 year old

Been in the casino business a decade now. Watching these tables and slots be set in such a haphazard fashion made me resent my shift manager and head tech even more. And yes, Craps is the name of the game. It's a New Orleans born game based on the French word crapaud, which means toad. Dock workers would throw their dice while squatting down in a certain way that made them look like toads. Locals would call them crapauds, eventually as it became a popular game the word was shortened to craps.
Yessssss. Another casino person. Hello! I'm a dealer my whole brain was just "if you let them get this hammered you're going to need more security" XD I'm going to have to tell my husband about the craps origin. @aburidhwan6277 it's a combination of things that leads to that. It takes a person with very little respect for themself and others and who can drink a LOT and not realize they're that far gone. Then security should've had them out long before that happened but sometimes they're either busy or just don't care. Then you end up with people puking and pissing everywhere. Craps is pretty fun, especially if you have a good group of people at the table, but I rarely play because I feel like you need a decent bankroll to go for very long. I prefer to slowly lose all of my money over at the blackjack table. Fun fact - there is an automated version where you bet on a screen and two big foam dice are rolled by a machine in a plastic dome, and it's called "Bubble Craps," which just sounds like another name for a shart.
I'm a dealer and I sat in on the craps school when my husband took it to see if I figured id could deal it (I do not figure I can deal it, holy crap that is a complex ass game). The only parts that really stuck with me are all the inuendos and juvenile jokes you can make XD. The first time someone said "come bet" like half the class lost it realizing we were all trying not to laugh. Moral of the story dealers mostly have the sense of humor of a 12 year old and craps is catnip for that sense of humor
So a regular casino? And yes, IRL casinos do exactly like you did with the slots maze. They put everything, entertainment, food buffet, bathrooms, etc, in the back so you have to go past the games to get there. Even hotels usually have you go through at least the slots to get to the elevators from the check in desk.
Reminds me of the underrated and quirky Casino Inc from the early 2000s just by the premise. Now if RCE could get that working on modern systems I'd love to see more vids on it
I like how he tries to describe it as a particularly heinous, exploitative casino and then goes on to build literally every casino that has ever existed 😂
So - fun fact about casinos - they're usually red themed and without windows. They want to a) get you to lose track of time. Best way to do that is not let you see the outside. b) be risky. The more risky you are the more you MIGHT win, but the more you'll probably lose. It's been demonstrated that humans are more likely to take risks if surrounded by red. Yeah - it's all a lot more engineered than you think.
It's funny to me (card dealer) that people have this notion of like casinos only sometimes employing tricks and stuff. Like the whole thing is based around psychology, thats why it works. You're funneled through the slot machines before you get to the table games, slots make more money faster because they're all set to really low win rates and a hand of blackjack takes way longer than a button push. Whenever you get bored of the slots you take a break with table games. Some of them have a good amount of strategy to them but it does all come down to luck. Either you spend the rest of your money at the tables or you win and head back to the slots or move on and have your luck run out somewhere else. The whole time alchohol is free (at least here in nevada) so you're inebriated but also we will cut you off before you get too drunk (which is actually mostly for us dealers. We get the most vile side of humanity a lot of time and drunk+people who don't respect people in the service industry ends with mental breakdowns and high turn over rates for dealers) so you're never really drunk enough to forget how to play if security is actually working and the pit bosses care. Then you have to walk through more machines to get to the cage to change out your chips and then through even more machines to leave or get to your hotel room. Generally there's also resturants and sit down bars with more games at the bar itself as well as a plethora of other things to do and if you run out of things to occupy yourself at the casino you're staying at they specifically design the exits so you end up close to more casinos because if the dealers are making tips the whole economy goes around in casino towns. The house doesn't cheat or exploit you in any way that you aren't doing to yourself. You aren't at a disadvantage at most games and the ones where you are also are the games that the house can't control the outcome at all (meaning control the way the dealer plays. For instance, we have very very specific procedures on how to play blackjack. I have to hit if I have a soft 17 which is an ace and anything adding up to 6 or less and I have to stay if I have a hard 17 or more. There's zero wiggle room. There is nowhere that I make a choice about what I want to do. I always say "the casino doesn't want to bet money that I'm good at blackjack". So that ones easy, no exploitation, I don't even know what card I have on the bottom, I just have a mirror to check if it's a 10 or ace and that's the ONLY thing I can see. If it's less than 10 I just see a blank white corner of the card. I'm working with the same info you have. Then there's chance games like roulette. There's strategies sure but they don't matter. The ball lands wherever it wants to. A really good dealer could hit a 4 or 5 number chunk on purpose if they wanted to but that's A) difficult to the point that I've only known 1 person who could probably do it and he'd been dealing 30 years and was the best dealer on staff and B) if the casino finds out, wether it was in the houses favor or not, you're fired. If a dealer cheats were sacked no questions asked doesn't matter if we made the house money or not). So yeah, casinos are a dumb place to go if you're not trying to spend money but really they're not these like demonic places people make them out to be. It's entirely psychology and the higher ups don't even try to hide it. It's the same as grocery stores funneling you through produce and the bakery section and the deli and stuff before letting you shop for normal stuff. They're just hoping something catches your eye before you do whatever you were intending to do. Like as a dealer we even tend to go gambling at other casinos for each other's birthdays and stuff. It's when people get hardcore about winning that it starts to be a problem and even then it's law that all dealers are trained to spot both alchoholism and gambling addiction and to let the pit bosses know when we see it. And not so they can funnel them toward more games either. We have pamphlets about places you can go to get help for either issue. Like obviously you'll lose money in a casino and slots are definitely a scam but we're not dishonest. Sorry that was a hella rant. It always bothers me when I'm dealing that people tend to think I'm Satan when they lose and that were trained to screw people over and stuff. I'm a 3rd generation card dealer, my grandmother dealt in a mafia run casino, none of my family want to exploit anyone. We all just like playing the games and having fun with other people. That's why we do it. And actually your dealer makes minnimum wage, most of our pay comes from tips so we do want you to win.

15:54 I've been Googling but, what is craps in the UK like? I can't find any difference, unless he means when you're playing without a table and all the side bets. "Street craps" it says on Wikipedia, but I've never heard it called that before.
This video has a title similar to LGIO's, and the knockoff of Spiff's only beverage. I like where this channel is going. edit: though you did immediately remove Yakshire teal gold, so I'm unsure whether Spiff would approve. Actually, considering it's a knockoff he'd probably greatly approve, since there is only one superior beverage.
